Like 40 👍 Greetings from Naples, Florida. We enjoyed your awesome adventure! Love, love the Florida Keys. Thanks so much for sharing with us, have a great weekend. 💯
Love it “your liver can’t take it“. I love meeting people who know how to have a good time and enjoy the local scenery. Once my wife and I have our boat will be doing some of your same route. We’re just a year or so away. Your videos do inspire us.
Yeah, I just sold my regal Xpress cruiser and now I’m without a boat for the first time in 33 years. But we are looking for a looper. Maybe something like a cabin cruiser, Carver or Cruiser Yachts
Always enjoy your videos--- the loving relationship you two enjoy connects with us, and providing scenic seascapes and "land side" interior venue sequences allow us to live vicariously! two great spots on the FL west coast in Pine Island Sound--- Tween Waters resort, South Seas Plantation. Also Cabbage Key --- Check out an interior waterway run from Naples to Isle of Capri...
We use to have a boat, we had it at a marina in Key Largo for awhile. I always wanted to go to Key West with it but we never made it there. I love Key West! The Florida Keys are wonderful and a lot of fun. I'm making a key lime pie today.
Truly enjoyed this lovely episode with the two of you.. You provide engaging sights and sounds that are fun , and you also caution your viewers about the many concerns of managing a large power boat in an ever changing and sometime challenging marine environment... As the neddle point reads over our salon, "Boating is hours of bliss, punctuated by moments of sheer panic."
When you need a safe slip in the west coast next year, let me know. We have a 60’ slip at Riviera Dunes Marina in Palmetto you can use. Our boat will probably still be up north.
Love your ventures on your old Hatteras. I spent many hours working on those in the 80s in ft.lauderdale. nice solid affordable old boats ,you can't kill those old smoky Detroits
I lived in Key West many years ago and my wife and I still get down to visit at least 2 or 3 times a year. Safe Harbor Marina and Boatyard in Marathon is a really great place to spend a few nights and they have a great Bar and Grill at the Marina that serves great food and drinks. (Lazy Dayzz).
Quite an opening with Lyn lol! I think Lyn flashing, combined with a Roger Out would be the absolute best ever!! PLEASE, LYN! ;-) For those paying attention there was only one Roger Out during this episode @ 12:50. It was upbeat, and right to the point - well done!
@tryingnottosink9107 yup. Adequate at any rate. Took my Hatteras 65 motor yacht (70 ft nose to toes) that way last Spring. There is a marina on the lake just on the lake side of the lock (west side of the lake) that makes a good half way stop over. Plan on a 2 day trip(maybe 2 and a half) as there are several locks and bridges that can add time. All in all, we ran 6-7 hours each day but split the run between the lake and Ft Meyers at a marina east of Ft Meyers because everything in Ft Meyers was still trashed or destroyed from Ian. Ft Meyers to the lake is the longer run, so an early start should get you to the lake marina in time for dinner. Call ahead and make reservations b3cause it is a haven for bass fishing and dock space might be tight. Dockmaster was accommodating and there is a restaurant nearly one the dock.
OMG you guys make me want to go back to the Keys in the worst way. It’s been waaayyy too long. I see you went with an electric outboard on your dinghy. We ditched our gas outboard on our dinghy in favor of an ePropulsion about a year and a half ago. We’ll never go back to gas we love it so much. We bought a second battery for extended range, even though one battery has served us very well. Great video!
It was 8 feet where we anchored but surrounded by 5 foot areas. There is a bigger anchorage a few hundred yards away but we wanted to be close to the restaurant.
Where do you store the mini-dingy? I don't think I've ever noticed that. Is it that much of a pain to lower the bigger "tender" into the water from the upper deck that it pays to have a mini-dingy? Some dingy docks don't like dingys over 8' long. What is the length of your tender? 10'? 12'?
Have you guys taken a ride through the Okeechobee waterway?? .. My wife and I have been planning our way to retire on a yacht - given we live in WPB FL I was interested in the waterway and a route from east to west... Love watching your videos btw - thanks' for the content
You guys were on the dock next to us! Thanks for visiting Key West, great video. Follow along for more Key West Adventures! @EscapeFromRealityAdventures
Ed ... Two questions ... 105 degrees in Key West? I thought the all time record high was only about 96, and the record low about 41. A very narrow temperature range all year long. Getting stuck on west coast? Couldn't you get back to the east coast by taking the Okeechobee Waterway from Fort Myers to Stuart? Your draft isn't more than 10 feet, is it?
You might be right. I might have heard a weather report from another part of Florida and assumed it was the same in Key West. In any case, it was hotter than I have ever seen in KW. We have never tried the Okeechobee. We may this year.
Considering electric outboard for 10 foot dinghy for up and down the east coast ICW mostly and curious of your thoughts ? Assume good in harbors but not great down in Bahamas ? Thx in advance.
The original name was Roto-X. Named after an invention, created by the original owner. It was a device that removed cataracts. Saved many people from going blind. We leave the plaques in honor of his memory.
No. Not at all. Not in the Bahamas or Keys. Although there are some places you might not want to leave your dinghy without locking up the motor. However, we do not go to those places.
I had to watch the beginning twice ! I thought the puppies were out ! LoL

Michael well done what a great to goal to have - I recently sold my boat it was like “losing your best girlfriend” - hope all goes to plan Regards
I just got my first boat... It's a lot of work, but worth it. If you can, get started now. =-)
Yeah, I just sold my regal Xpress cruiser and now I’m without a boat for the first time in 33 years. But we are looking for a looper. Maybe something like a cabin cruiser, Carver or Cruiser Yachts
We are on our way to key west from Detroit, at cape may now getting supplies etc......Grand Banks 36
Great seafood at the restaurant near Utch's. We always bike to town when there.
@@tryingnottosink9107 yup, the lobster house, we ate there last night, today going into town peanut butter shop, we are at Utchs transient slip
Every time I see Mr Bill hanging out on the bridge, it makes me laugh LOL🍸🍸

No problem! And thanks for the tip! 👍

We will probably be on the west coast of Florida this coming season.

A tough season, you needed dome down time. Thanks for taking us along you two.
Our pleasure!
Another great video. Glad you guys got to relax in Key West.

We have been anchoring out lately when we visit Marathon. I think we have been to every bar on the Key.
Looked like a great time! you guys are enjoying life!
It was!
You two do know how to have a good time. Keep at it.
Always!
Only live once and can’t take it with you. 😮😅

You have to be on the boat to see Lyn flash!
Well let's jusyt say. Lyn doesn't need a life jacket. We are adults here, GO for it Lyn !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s funny 😁
if on the West Coast and wanting to go to the East coast or the other way around take the canal. Fr Myers to Stuart in 2 easy days. Easy run.
Is there a good place to stop for a 65' boat?
@tryingnottosink9107 yup. Adequate at any rate. Took my Hatteras 65 motor yacht (70 ft nose to toes) that way last Spring. Thanks for the info. So far, we are planning to do that run at some point in the upcoming season. Most likely in May.

We would like to get a more powerful one.
What? No shot of Lynn on the bow coming in to Key West?
The battery died!
@@tryingnottosink9107 That's what she said...
The only way of arriving in Key West is: needing mechanical repairs and a drink 😂
Where were you anchored in the beginning of this video? My first trip is going to be the Keys and that looks like a great place to stop!
Yes, we anchor in several places in the Keys.
It looked to me like Rodrigues key, and Boot key
Both wonderful anchorages
What was your depth at the Boot Key anchorage? We really enjoy the commentary on venues and locales. TY
It was 8 feet where we anchored but surrounded by 5 foot areas. There is a bigger anchorage a few hundred yards away but we wanted to be close to the restaurant.
@@tryingnottosink9107 Cool, also saw Boot Key harbor with moorings on Google map. Were you able to check it out?
You missed the frozen chocolate covered key lime pie on a stick at Kermit’s and 5 brothers is closer for coffee to the boat
Check out crossing Florida via the Lake. Did it years ago on a new shrimp boat so it might work for you
Yep - I thought there was a canal that you enter around Ft Myers and takes you through Lake Okeechobee and over to Jensen Beach.
We considered that but thought, in the event of s storm, there might be too much traffic.
Hi Just wondering what size your storage boxes on your bow are? Hopefully will see you this winter in FL/Bahamas. Safe travels!
Not sure. 1.5x4 maybe. I am not at the boat right now. Ask next week.

Do you still use the Raritan crown heads.they need alot of power but can chop up almost anything
We use Raritan Elegance. 24volt
I live in titusville. Wish could meet youall. Florida Joe😊
Dixie Crossroads used to have killer Rock Shrimp there, is that still true today?
We'll be back soon. Maybe in a week or so. See you there!
What a tradition!
Love your work - okay now the fun is over get down in that engine room and catch up with the chores. - (just kidding) Kind Regards
That is what we are doing in November!
Sushi looks great

Not yet! We are hesitant since there doesn't see to be a lot of places for a yacht our size to stop.
Good to know the tradition Ill fit right in
Have you folks considered the ekeechobee route????
We have thought about it but decided against.
There’s no G of E on the Okeechobee route.
@ericmitchell5350 no kidding, really have you heard of spell check not working
You guys were on the dock next to us! Thanks for visiting Key West, great video.

We go to Key West every year. It' is our favorite stop! We'll check out your channel.
Key Lime Pie is my favorite.
What does it cost per foot on average to keep a boat like yours in Titusville. Trying to decide where to keep ours.
$11 per foot plus electric, but there is usually along waiting list for Titusville.
Really sorry to hear your not going to make it to Sarasota. Next time. Btw what marina did you say at in key west please
We always stay at one of the marinas in the Bight.

We are considering it as well. Our trawling motor is too weak. It is a shame they are so expensive.
I noticed a plaque at the lower helm that said ROTO-X, and I’ve seen it on your thresholds. What is ROTO-X? The first name of Triton?
The original name was Roto-X. Named after an invention, created by the original owner. It was a device that removed cataracts. Saved many people from going blind. We leave the plaques in honor of his memory.
nothing like good keylime pie.
The Islander is the bomb in that area, and Faro Blanco Marina if you don't drop a hook.
We have heard that as well. Maybe next year.
You missed Fantasy Fest???
Not yet, but we probably will.
When your livers can no longer take it, just change the channel name to “Trying not to Drink.” 😂😂
Great idea! 😁
I have no idea.
West coast? Great! I am west coast. I hope to see you here in God's country. :)
😁😁😎
She wants u to drop your anchor 🔱
OH NO Its Mister Bill
I hope you're not Sluggo!
are u concerned about pirates towing your ship away when u make excursions with your dingy?arghhhh
No. Not at all. Not in the Bahamas or Keys. Although there are some places you might not want to leave your dinghy without locking up the motor. However, we do not go to those places.
You guys are great, but I wish you would try to cut back on the alcohol 🍸 intake. You seem to always be drinking. Stay safe.
Why is you have to be naked going in key west
Great video, please go back to 30min.
