80's were the best years of my life. The summers were so long and beautiful, all the colors were neon, the music was the best ever, even today people mostly listen to the 80's hits. The ocean smelled so good and everybody was cool. It was a much simpler and epic time than these days.

Proud 80s kid here! No one understands how awesome the 80s were unless you were a kid back then. It was a very special era, and I feel so sorry for the kids of today; they have no idea how amazing music, movies, fashion, and just how wonderful it was back then. Just hanging out at the mall and arcade was like Disney World. I miss those days.🥰 Oh, and I can't forget Michael Jackson ruled back then. No matter where you went, you would hear or see someone wearing MJ. The malls were almost completely decorated in MJ. I remember the complete upstairs of Sears was nothing but MJ merch. They even had The Making Of Thriller playing on loop. I was lucky to look like Michael, even dressed like him. It gave me a huge advantage when it came to the girls. They absolutely adored me. 🥰
Things I miss: Life before the internet and smart phones and social media, knowing my neighbors and socializing with people, good music and good movies, late night tv comedy without all the politics, less divisiveness over politics, my grandparents and that entire generation.
@@DoodlePoodle199 Me too and 1979 baby here and life without the net and cellphones was so much more peaceful. These days anyone can disturb us with even a simple text or random phone call. So annoying.
@@TrinhNguyen-sh4fj More peaceful is a good way of putting it. Texting is extremely distracting and disruptive, even when it’s meant intentionally for a good reason. I could easily go back!
Me too. 55 and it was the greatest. Blissful times. I miss the infinite drive-in all nighters the most. Horror. Kung fu. Even Pippi marathons. Candleshoe. Escape to Witch Mountain. Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Billy Jack. The best of times.
Born in 68..70s and 80s was the most advanced time I whatvwas a still free america with little government regulation..the 90s were ok but paled in comparison to the previous decades..
I was 4 in 1980 and all the way to 1989 i had a blast, now being 47 i am not too happy with these years as i was in the 80's. I will forever miss the 80's
Born in 1971! I loved growing up in the 70's & 80's! The 80's were the best times! Playing outside, riding bikes, playing football or baseball, popping fireworks, sleepovers and especially no technology! We actually talked on the phone and interacted with each other and our parents. 🙌
I wouldn’t want to be a kid now. The 80s were amazing and I want to go back !!! We were The last generation of kids who had ambition, morals , respect and goals.
@Rhetty for History thank you for posting these videos takes alotta work and I appreciate it. Well not really cause these videos make me feel old at 46 lol.
Exactly. But it's not something to hold over them.. compassion is appropriate, because if it's not good for them, it's really really bad, and they DON'T know how bad it is for them, because they've never been treated well. We were. Some of us, anyways. But these generations coming.. it's worth changing the future.. worth the effort.
I remember EVERYTHING you covered here! What a wonderful time it was to be a kid... I wouldn't trade it for anything. I feel bad for kids today. You do such a great job with these videos and I appreciate what you do... Thank you for letting me be a kid again even if it's just for a few minutes...
The 1990s and Early to Mid 2000s (before 2007) were the last times anyone wanted to go outside and have fun. But once the smartphones came around no one ever wanted to go outside and by the 2010s pretty much outside was just not as fun anymore as the 1950s - 2000s once did. Thankfully we have videos like these to remind us of a time when it was simpler and not so chaotic as it is nowadays.
Don't feel bad for kids of today! They have just as much fun as any other decade and also have their fond memories they will carry throughput their lives. Enjoy yours. They will enjoy their own.
The 80s were the greatest time to grow up. I remember on a Saturday morning me and my buddies would get on our bikes go downtown get a hot dog a bag of chips and a soda for a dollar and still have enough money to get a hot bag of peanuts. The 80s was the greatest.
What a bargain that was! That would have easily been something you could have earned whether with a "job" or allowance. Thank you for watching and sharing some of your memories of the 80s!
Born in 68 , we were truly lucky to be young in this era today's youth are being cheated big time, mainstream society has sunk to all time lows. My parents couldn't keep my sister and I in the house. What an era to be young looks like my childhood as well. 55 NOW WHERE DOES THE TIME GO 😮. Peace.......
You guys are old I'm only 53 ! Lmao watching this hurts my heart cause I miss it so much! And wish I could show my daughter what the good old days are all about
Same here. I was born in 84 and I remember going to a person house if I wanted to hang out with them. He is right about if you were bored never complain because then my parents would make me do extra chores.
That’s so true! I was born in 2010 and I literally spend most of my time on my phone, even in the summer. The only thing that got my outside much recently except for school and occasional clubs was outdoor plays with a local company (so much fun! We hardly ever go on our phones, instead play card games or tag during breaks or intervals and everyone there is so local and friendly, it reminds me of this video a bit) I love 80s music and I wish I lived back then sometimes. I’ve noticed how quick our generation has grown up (not matured per se, just act like adults, like they had no childhood :( ) and of course I’ve been a “victim” to it as well. Well, I just thought that was kind of interesting. I’m planing to have a more fun summer this year, instead of watching TH-cam all day, going out with friends or doing the stuff mentioned in this video. It’s just sad everything is a bit different now. I’m sure there are some upsides to nowadays, I don’t know if that makes sense… yeah 😅 have a nice day!
Although I'm a 90s kid (born in 88) I believe the 80s and 90s were the best decades. Theres no comparison to how much fun you had. The narrator is spot on about how you just knocked on peoples doors and everyone were so welcoming. The more we humans advance with technology the more we lose basic morals, deeds care for other people. In them says it was about looking after everyone. Your whole area felt like a big family. Nowadyas it's all about selfishness. Me me and me!
I turned 13 in 1980. Your videos are so accurate that I always get happy-sad watching them. This one especially hit me hard. The only thing I missed out on was the fireflies. I grew up in Southern California, so...
Southern California is pretty lucky to not have an insect problem. There aren't many places like that but that does mean you miss out on things like that. I never really gave that much thought until you mentioned it. I guess it's just something I took for granted. Thank you for watching Lago di Fuoco!
@@RhettyforHistory It would be nice to not have to put screens on the windows in order to keep them open though. Couldn't do that here in NC. You'd have every mosquito and moth in a mile radius in the house, lol.
Pal, you have just given me great knowledge for my stories. Apparently fireflies don't exist Southern California need that for my story guy who's also from Southern California. Ty!!!!
The 80's. Best decade ever! Back in the good old days when people weren't so butt hurt over everything. Hey! We turned out okay!😉 Thanks for the trip down memory lane. 😊 Couple skate 😂
Ugh the dreaded couple skating, when you didn't get picked and you sat on the bleachers with your friends...in my town it was disco ice skating on Friday nights and the freaken song they wld couple skate was FREE BIRD , 😂 it was bad enough you didn't get asked to skate but you gotta sit there for a f--ken 10 min song just to remind you that you did not get asked LOL
Born in 73 and living it also through the 70's was even better. You forgot camping at the beach, usually staying for a week or two in a family sized tent, going to the cinema. The atmosphere was so much cleaner and peaceful, and people much more genuine and down to earth. The latest generations think they're the ultimate generations, but they will never know the truth.
I love the 80s! I am an 80s child! I miss those days so much since there was no internet, social media,etc.. so the only way to see your friends was to come over to their house. I am getting nostalgic again. The 80s had the best movies, music, and so many other wonderful memories. I wish we had a Time Machine to go back to the 80s. The 80s will forever be golden and special to me.
Agreed, BUT I would prefer to be able to go back to the 80s but bring back today's technology. I still love my internet, my big flat screen tv, my iPhone, Apple Watch and my AI. 😂
The 80's and early 90's were the best time to be a kid. The movies, music, toys, cartoons, video games, in literally every way. I may be bias, but I'm also right! That said, this almost made me cry.
Anyone ever remember the "block parties". The block got a permit to close the block/street, then all the families on the block would set up tables and games all up and down the street and have a large block party. That's when neighbors were real neighbors. Such fun it was.
That sounds like a ton of fun! We never had those so I guess we were in a boring neighborhood compared to you. Thank you for watching and sharing some of your memories Patrick!
New Yorker here. Up in Washington Heights in the early to mid-80s, we had Barb-b-que'd hot dogs and burgers, DJ's playing all kinds of music, hanging off the traffic lights and then sitting up on top and we even had these HUGE rented trucks come over with ladders leading up to a pool on top. No violence, no danger, just lots of fun and hanging out with your neighbors til sundown. Can't do those anymore. Us Gen-X kids had the best childhoods. I wouldn't trade mine for anything, certainly not with today's kids.
Thanks for reminding me of block parties! Those were the best times as a kid! We would bring our A game for the bike stunt competitions😂I ended up hurt every year, yet kept on having fun till forced to stay only in the treehouse for the rest of night. Adults should have treehouses.
Your videos always make me tear up. Growing up in Australia in the 70’s and 80’s was the best time of my life and just about everyone was friendly and happy that I knew. I would do anything to be a kid again in those times,. Today just gets worse and worse with every new year and most of my family are gone now. I still love your videos though as I can just think back on happy times in my life instead of the crappy reality of today.
It is sad to loose family and we have been experiencing that some just this year. Thank you for watching and I'm happy to know you are enjoying the videos. Those memories of the time are something that I will always cherish.
I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the 80’s. I can only be sad about one thing, they ended, and young people today never had the chance to be truly free.
I was definitely a 80s kid ... my childhood officially ended in 1990. Those long summer days of swimming, riding the bike, playing war in the woods, and yes, some indoor activities too like video games! I'm so glad I had those wonderful days with my wonderful friends and family. We didn't know how good we had it!
Ah the 80's what a great decade, I was a teen most of that time and remember the great summers. The last day of school before summer break was an awesome feeling.
Born in the early seventies so I grew up during the 70s and 80s so I loved the fun we had growing up during that time. To be honest I don't know how I made through some of the things we did. But I did with no broken bones but plenty of scars and some pretty amazing stories from those days.
Except for a few minor differences, mostly due to changing technology, the summers of the 80s kids were just like the summers of the 70s that I experienced as a kid. We certainly had the roller rinks and malls. Fun times, simpler safer and more carefree. Our parents weren't worried if they didn't see us all day. Great times! Thanks Rhetty.
Born in 69, you're right the 70s and 80s, just crossed over, not really changing but the music, from disco, to hip hop, but the dances were influenced top, because pop locking was in the 70s, and 80s, and then came break dancing, but I enjoyed it all. 💯
I was born in late 79, I live this video! Brings back a lot of memories and it SO!!! on point. We were lucky kids growing up in a much better world 🙏🏼 🌻 🌹♥️
I was born at the absolute perfect time to be an '80s kid. I was 7 when the decade started and 17 when it ended. I remember doing most things on here. I couldn't help but remember that ALL my favorite memories from then occurred when I was outside!!! As with most kids then, we ran the streets. Whether it was going to the local pool, playing football, soccer, or baseball. We was always on the move. The only time we was indoors was when someone had a basement party. Now, kids need to be dragged outside. It's like they can't miss a moment away from their games or phones. And while we probably lived a more dangerous life, I think the fact that we were experiencing more socially, and on person, we made lifelong memories. Today's youth only have the repetition of doing the same exact thing daily. I just can't help but feel their missing out on life.
I do think many of them are missing out on a lot of fun. It seems there is a whole world out there they may see but not experience first hand. Thank you for watching and sharing your memories!
@Rhetty for History I couldn't agree more. Having the whole world at your fingertips has made kids less interested in going out and exploring the world first hand. While the internet has made it easier to communicate, it's made it harder for kids, cause if your talking to people from just say England, I think it takes away from the fascination of actual going there and experiencing it in person. I can't help but feel sorry for them, knowing just how much they're missing out on.
I'm assuming you lived up north? Here in the south it's way too hot for the fair in August. Ours were in late September usually, and the state fair is in mid October (North Carolina).
I was a kid during the 50’s and 60’s but it was almost exactly the same as the 70’s and the 80’s. We were not hermetically sealed or wrapped in bubble wrap. We occasionally took our knocks but we also learned. We had our chores we had to do if we wanted out allowance. The young kids I know today don’t even go outside to play. What happened?
Sadly it seems to be almost entirely a digital experience. That's all great but they do need to learn things in the physical world as well. I think they are missing out on a ton of fun. Thank you for always watching and commenting my friend!
@@RhettyforHistory Not just fun either , but the learning of toughness, social and general skills, morals, ethics, and in some cases, survival. All of which has been lost to tech. In spite 0f all we have gained via tech, I think that in the long run, we were better off before.... A LOT BETTER OFF !
That's the thing, all our dangerous play trained our brains to deal with danger and uncertainty, we had to be more aware of ourselves and our abilities as the stakes were high if mistakes were made. We've turned all that play into a simulation done on screens with zero repercussions and endless extra lives.
As someone who was born in ‘00, it’s because there was no where to go. The mall in my small rural hometown was dying and if you spent too long anywhere, someone would come up and accuse you of loitering/causing trouble. Fortunately nowadays, there is a local game/comic store and coffee shop that kids can hang out in but that doesn’t negate how hard it is to travel safetly with such wide urban scroll/large trucks that can see someone on a back.
I wanted to thank you for bringing back wonderful memories that are long gone. I even teared up. You nailed this for us Gen Xers. We just wanted to be outside and with our friends. Wish it would have lasted longer. Keep up the superior content.❤
I turned 13 in January of 1980. They were the best of times that I will cherish forever. So glad I grew up in a time way before modern technology. We would get our bumps and bruises and we thought nothing of it. Great video! 🥰🥰🥰
Back then, we would show up at school (during the school year), and instead of going to class we'd ditch school and go to the mall, watch movies, go to the arcade, get food at the food court. Then we'd head back to school in time to get the bus back home. It was always fun trying to explain to my parents why the school showed me being absent so many days...haha.
I was 16 in 1980, so the eighties were the time I grew up. And in The Netherlands it wasn't exactly as in the US like you show, but I recognize so much. Great vid. What a time to grow up it was!
How I remember going to summer camp in the 1980s plus swimming a lot and barbeques and listening to a lot of music outside on my ghetto blaster. I was born in 1978. Definitely a lot of memories.
Great video! The eighties were a great time to be a teenager. I'm from The Netherlands and most Dutch families spent their summer holidays on campsites back then. Camping was a great way to make new friends with peers from all over the country, as most campsites had animation teams. There was an abundance of on-site activities that suited every age category. The campsite disco was a great place for teens to hang out and meet a summer fling as well!
The 80s were the absolute best times of my life. My friends my family. It’s a level of nostalgia to even think back. I can see the summer days and feel them and smell the grass the laughter etc it’s intoxt
I was born in 77. I have all these memories but grandmas did not watch Soap Operas... the watched " their stories" lol. Kids had it so much better back then I think
@@MrLoretano77 My mom and I watched As the World Turns, The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. Of course I didn't start watching till I got a little older, but it was enjoyable to watch together. We also watched Knots Landing.🤗

There was nothing like summertime as a kid in the 80s 🥰 riding bikes with the neighborhood kids was my number one activity that i did every day. I also went to sleepovers, read tons of books, watched music videos, played at the park, ate popsicles, caught bugs, went swimming, collected rocks, and went to the store to get candy with my friends. I want to go back!
Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Growing up in the 80's and early 90's, I did a lot of these things during my summers. My favorite was riding my bike, running to catch the ice cream man, and going to the public pool with my family.
I want to go back!! 😢 Born in 74' & had the privilege to grow up in the greatest time EV-A!!! ❤😁 These videos make me laugh 😅 and cry 😭 at the same time. Thanks Rhetty 🙏👍
I was born in 72. I would give anything to go back and do it all over again. Those were the best times the last of the best times. Now the world sucks on so many levels.
I'm a child of the 70s but life was much the same it seems more innocent than today but that may be just nostalgia I love your videos they never fail to make me smile
Man, we didn’t even know how good we had it! I was a kid in the 80s, life was great, our parents trusted us and expected us to do the right thing, and when we didn’t then there were consequences. I’m not saying it was absolutely perfect, it wasn’t, but it was a much better world than it is today.
This video hit the nail right on the head! All facts. One thing I miss is eating pears off of the wild pear trees that grew around the neighborhood . Finding blackberry bushes and foraging. The last generation of feral children. Generation X. Was born in the 70s, grew up in the 80s and became an adult in the 90s.
Great video! I have to say you pretty much nailed the 80's summer. I would add drive-in movie theaters. Everyone packed into a huge station wagon on the nights when it was one price for the whole vehicle😂 I remember ty- dying T-shirts in my driveway for all the kids in the neighborhood. Also, summer camps like YMCA and they lasted weeks. Good times🤗 Thanks for the rekindling of memories!
Ohhh man !!! I am SO glad that I got to grow up in the 80's. .........I also remember my folks taking us to the "DRIVE-IN" at night to watch the latest movie and we'd get to go in our pyjamas and take along our pillows and blankets and plenty of sweets and snacks.
I was born in 1976 and i remember the 80s with happiness and wonder. The world was smaller then but that was okay... Me and my friends rode our bikes all over the neighborhood, all day everyday. We even got chased, daily, by stray dogs in the neighborhood. The music, movies, and cartoons were epic. The toys were unmatched and it felt like the days would be like that forever... Now it just lives in my memory, but I'll never forget it.
I wish I had grown up in the 80s. I was born in 86, but thanks to my two older sisters, they brought the 80s into the 90s, so I got to experience it vicariously through them.
For our neighborhood summers we played tennis ball all day. We had no real field so it was baseball with a tennis ball so windows didn't get broken. That's seriously all we did. All day. At night we played "Ghost in the Graveyard." Big thing in our neighborhood was parents knew how to "whistle." You knew the kid or kids being summoned by the sound of the whistle.
Each parent where I lived seemed to have their own distinctive call that got their kids attending too. Thank you for watching and sharing your memories Joe!
Dang, man. It's like you were stalking me back then. I literally did all of that stuff. The part about making clubhouses out of scrap wood hit me hard. Great vid.
Great stuff man. I was born in 83 so that means im turning the big 40 this December. I remember those summers like they were yesterday though. One thing we used to do that you left out was playing in the woods all day long haha. Finding vines to swing from and creeks to follow. When you were in the woods it felt like you were in your own world. Im almost sure kids dont do that now haha.
Malls when the weather was way too hot in the summer and the pool was too crowded. And if you couldn't find a ride to the mall you could walk to the local 7-Eleven for slurpees and candy that no longer exists and playing the arcade games they had there. Also there was MTV, when they actually played music videos. Great channel! Keep those 80s videos coming!!
Omg being allowed to walk to 7-11 , we thought we were so cool to get a slurpie .... I just talked about MTV yesterday to a coworker who is only 25 , Im 55 and i said I was the first one of my friends to get MTV and all my friends wld come to my house after school to watch videos , eat crap and just chill
We called it a dazzle dazzle in Australia and I still have the scar where I fell off and hit my head as a kid lol. The amount of battle scars were amazing but to this day I have never broken a bone somehow.
We'd get a couple of the boys to spin it as hard as they could. Sometimes we'd jump off when it was going super fast. 😬 It was a lot harder to try and jump on when you got it going though.
I started High School in 1980 what a ride it was through 1984. This was great brought back so many memories of a much much better time.. i would go back in a heartbeat.
Wow! What a terrific video. I was born in 1974 so everything you listed was part of my childhood. Regardless of how things are going today, I can always be thankful to be a kid of the 80's. Thanks for the great trip.
Watching this video reminded me how awesome growing up on the 80s was. A piece of candy was a $0.01, we spoke to each other and had lengthy debates about our favorite activities. Hell, we could disagree with someone, have a fistfight, and be life-long friends with that person the very next day. Each summer day was like Christmas without the snow, and we got to spend it with our favorite people. Adults threatened us with severe punishment if we didn't come home before dark. We made having fun a two and a half month long festival that smelled like popcorn, looked like lazers, and tasted like ice-cream.
I was 6 in 1980.. most summers of early eighties were spent with my parents going on family visits or going on trips with our uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.. the whole bunch. Or playing baseball at the playground. We looked up to the US in our neighborhood. We all had dirt bikes we had seen in the movie ET. After '86 we had our VCR and rented movies. Remember watching Mad Max, The Emerald Forest, Evil Dead, Nightmare on Elm Street, Jaws, Superman, Indiana Jones.. Those were golden days.. On tv there was Buck Rogers, Taxi, Different Strokes, Wonder Woman, Thunder Birds, The Incredible Hulk, Mathew Star Cheers, Chips, A team, Knight Rider, Miami Vice, Hill Street Blues, In The Heat of The Night .. and i could name so many more it was too good to be true almost. I will shut up now ! Great Video, love it.. you nailed those 80s
One of my favourite things to do in the 80’s was long distance running and speed skating. I stopped long ago now thanks to my arthritic knees. I’ve basically stopped everything now. Thanks for the memories Rhett. ❤️Jodie 🇦🇺
This video summed up the 80s, nicely! Seeing that H-E-B paper bag, reminded me of growing up in San Antonio. Getting the TV guide in July, to clip the fireworks coupons and riding my bike to load up on black cats, bottle rockets and m-60s. Going to Rachel's Country Corner, to Fajita Junction attending school at Lackland elementary, Southwest, Valley High and Big Country Elementary and middle school. Had some of the greatest friends and memories.
James you could have one or more arcades in your home nowadays! 🙂 I have one from the 80´s, and 3 Pinballs from the 90´s, and I live in Argentina..., in the US is far easier. Have you consider a Game/Arcade room?? 🤩 Greetings from Buenos Aires
Ice cream truck , first kiss, family reunions, and playing in the fire hydrant. What a magical time. I wish I could visit the 80s for just one more day.
This vid definitely brought back my exact childhood! Thanks rhetty….. I always wondered what my friends back then are up to. We’ve all moved on since late childhood.
Great times! Nothing like the 80's. My funniest memory that both me and my sister often tell to our kids is when watching a horror movies! We (10 to 12yrs old) didn't have a remote control tv and we would be so scared, terrified st a scene that we would have to run up to the TV and blindly flip the tv dial. Our hearts would be pounding so hard but we didn't care what channel it ended on. If we didn't flip the channel we would just leave the room until we felt it was safe to return. Our kids can't imagine having a tv without a remote!
😂😂😂😂😂😂 , I wld whip through the channels turning the knob so fast i wld get told stop dng it that way its gng to break , in time the knob wld fall off , or move back from the tv your gng its not good for your eyes
I was born in 74 and man I miss the 80's I had so much fun back then as a kid and watching this video just brought back a bunch of flash backs of those fun times. I've done pretty much everything except the crazy stunts on the bike I was too much of a chicken lol. But about 20 years ago I had a honda dirt bike and I did some of those crazy stunts but I had full protective gear a helmet and chest protector and knee pads.
Summers as a kid in the 80’s were a magical time and I am fortunate to have lived it. Maybe a little more “magical” for someone like myself whom was born and raised on the North Shore of Oahu. Indeed Hawaii in the 1980’s was and is a very special time and place. I am now becoming both nostalgic and homesick at the same time.
Agreed growing up on oahu was fun, especially castle park 🥰 miss those days, life was so much simpler. Sad now cause da aloha is slowly dying 😢. Anywho Steh blessed 🤙🏽

Things I miss: Life before the internet and smart phones and social media, knowing my neighbors and socializing with people, good music and good movies, late night tv comedy without all the politics, less divisiveness over politics, my grandparents and that entire generation.
Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts and memories Chris!
I miss life before internet/smart phones/social media, also. And I’m only a 1981 baby. I’d rather have those days than all the digital stuff….
The only thing I disagree with is late-night TV without all the politics. It very much was there, but more bipartisan and less cruel.

Exactly and I often tell my nephews but they sadly found it boring.

You're welcome and I'm glad to hear you are enjoying the videos. I appreciate you watching and commenting.
Amen!!!! This is time traveling for me. Thank you
The 80s were the greatest time to grow up.
My gf and I would each get a quarter and buy penny candy, freezies and a pop, then use the bottle refund for a few more candies lol
I think we shared the pop lol

Thank you for watching SmallTown Reviews!
You can say that again, and I’m only three years older than you.
Same here. I was born in 84 and I remember going to a person house if I wanted to hang out with them. He is right about if you were bored never complain because then my parents would make me do extra chores.
This was true really until about 2002. Once Cell Phones and The Internet advanced to being capable of common usage, it changed everything.
So you really didn't have them in So Cal? Bummer! Wow that was one of the most fun things to do at night.

Nope. I do vaguely recall them in New Jersey when we would go back to visit family.
Southern California is pretty lucky to not have an insect problem. There aren't many places like that but that does mean you miss out on things like that.

Went to a few of those, usually at my aunt's house.
Some of our neighbors lived on cul-de-sacs and blocked the street with cars for safety.
Thanks for reminding me of block parties! Those were the best times as a kid! We would bring our A game for the bike stunt competitions😂I ended up hurt every year, yet kept on having fun till forced to stay only in the treehouse for the rest of night. Adults should have treehouses.

The countdown to school for me was the county fair, it went on for the week and a half before starting. The last hurrah for sure 😀
I could see how that would be a good indicator. Thank you for watching and sharing a memory with us Tammie!

@@D-Fens_1632 I agree
As someone who was born in ‘00, it’s because there was no where to go. The mall in my small rural hometown was dying and if you spent too long anywhere, someone would come up and accuse you of loitering/causing trouble. Fortunately nowadays, there is a local game/comic store and coffee shop that kids can hang out in but that doesn’t negate how hard it is to travel safetly with such wide urban scroll/large trucks that can see someone on a back.

ahhhh watching this, makes me tears in my eyes my youth just passed by .. good ole days, i was teenager back in 80s
Thank you for watching and SFbenjaminK!
I miss getting up early on Saturday for cartoons. Those were the best days to be a kid!😊
Thank you for watching and sharing what you miss Vanessa!
Aww the memories of flying off the merrygoround was fun ..
I loved those things! Thank you for watching Regina!
That is interesting that it was called the dazzle dazzle. I have some good scars from it as well.
Flying off and landing on concrete! LOL
Same here…. 1974.
You're welcome and thank you for watching In the Company of Magic!
On tv there was Buck Rogers, Taxi, Different Strokes, Wonder Woman, Thunder Birds, The Incredible Hulk, Mathew Star
Cheers, Chips, A team, Knight Rider, Miami Vice, Hill Street Blues, In The Heat of The Night ..
and i could name so many more it was too good to be true almost.
I will shut up now ! Great Video, love it.. you nailed those 80s
Sounds like you had an awesome childhood judging by the memories you shared with us. Thank you for watching!
I grew up in the ‘80s.. the best of times. Kids today have nooo idea.
Thank you for watching Yami!
I miss my 80's teenage years. Great memories. ❤❤
One of my favourite things to do in the 80’s was long distance running and speed skating.
I stopped long ago now thanks to my arthritic knees. I’ve basically stopped everything now.
Thanks for the memories Rhett. ❤️Jodie 🇦🇺
You're welcome and thank you for watching Jodie! I never did the speed skating but I did do the running. Both Sarah and I used to do that.
Hi Jodie! 😁👋
@@paulstan9828 Hi Paul 🤗
The 80’s were the ABSOLUTE BEST TIMES OF MY LIFE!! I miss it so much!!
Thank you for the smiles... This video was so well done and really took me back to the simpler day. Good times!

I miss these times terribly
Thank you for watching Belanna!
Yes and we got out for Summer break at Memerial Day and didn't go back until after Labor Day!! Awesome Summers😊
Thank you for watching Donovan!
The 80s were the greatest decade ever, I especially miss the arcades
Thank you for watching James!
James you could have one or more arcades in your home nowadays! 🙂
I have one from the 80´s, and 3 Pinballs from the 90´s, and I live in Argentina..., in the US is far easier.
Have you consider a Game/Arcade room?? 🤩
Greetings from Buenos Aires
Ice cream truck , first kiss, family reunions, and playing in the fire hydrant. What a magical time. I wish I could visit the 80s for just one more day.
This vid definitely brought back my exact childhood! Thanks rhetty….. I always wondered what my friends back then are up to. We’ve all moved on since late childhood.
I've lost contact with some of my old friends as well. Thank you for watching AJ!
Thank you for watching and sharing some of your memories with us Brett!
I grew up in 2000s and early 2010s i used to play in the park all the time
Thank you for watching Ja'Qaivius Gordon! I love a good park!
That really would have been great to be there and I can only imagine something like that. Thank you for watching!
Agreed growing up on oahu was fun, especially castle park 🥰 miss those days, life was so much simpler. Sad now cause da aloha is slowly dying 😢. Anywho Steh blessed 🤙🏽
Born in 85 let me tell you being born in the 80s was the last of the great generation of good friends and fun times. This has changed for the worse and it's so sad. Yea it does get us emotional because it was the greatest time and the last greatest times we will ever see.
