    Sorry about the mistake in this video quoted at 9:40, the combined power is rated at 155kW for the New Zealand & Australian versions but the combined torque is not mentioned on NZ spec sheet. The 143kW & 313Nm numbers are from the UK website and the video was filmed before the full New Zealand spec release.

      Hey Jerry, did you notice an odd pulsing on the accelerator especially when you give it a bit of gas on uphill sections...I found in my test drive that the uphill performance was not that consistent across the board. And this is on part throttle, not sinking my foot in.

    I'm not in NZ, I got a MG4 based on your reviews and still watching your vids 😊
    Jealous mg3 has the rear air vent
    BTW Jerry you can use your phone to measure the speeds. It's reasonably accurate

      Thanks for the support. Yeah, MG3 having rear air vents looks like a big improvement for a small car.
      Thanks for the suggestion also. Do you happen to know the app name?

    No chance of finding less than 95 octane in the UK & 'engine knocking / pinking ' is probably due to < 95 octane .
    Ive just ordered my MG3 Trophy here & love your informative videos . 😊

    Are figures quoted correct ? Figures on website are 75kw and 128nm!

      As quoted at 9.40 in the video, the combined output of the hybrid model is 143KW and 313Nm.

      The 1.5L engine alone is 75kW and 128Nm but the combined power with the engine & EV is 155kW (not 143kW quoted) and more than 300Nm.

    Hi Jerry , I am living in Ireland , thank you for your wonderful educational videos. I have an MG4 ev and your videos taught me so much about it. I am now changing to an MG5 EV station wagon. I don’t know if you have this model in New Zealand. If you have would it be possible to get some videos on it. Many thanks, keep up the good work.

      Thank you so much!
      Congrats on the MG5 EV. Unfortunately we don’t have this car in New Zealand. There hasn’t been any wagon EV here to be honest.

    Great review done by an Australian ProductReview Cars. He takes it on different roads, including hills, and talks about how the petrol version actually uses less fuel than the hybrid at 100kph plus, while the hybrid, for some odd reason, needs 95 octane fuel. Someone claims it can run on 92, but he provided no proof...

    • @hdvoice
      @hdvoice 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is a city car, which means you are probably better off with the petrol mg3 if most trips you have are 100km/h highway. And for 95 octane gasoline recommendation, it’s only recommended not required. It will be just fine if you put 92 in the tank. Maybe just less Mileage for the same amount of gasoline.

    • @gregb1599
      @gregb1599 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @hdvoice Good luck finding 92 octane fuel in NZ! And no, it's not recommended. You must use 95 or risk your warranty, cars are smart today they will know the octane you are putting in, and long-term knocking can damage an engine. I have just never heard of a modem non turbo engine needing 95! This hybrid is not that efficient when compared to the much older Toyota Yaris that is efficient at both city speeds and highway speeds while accepting as low as 87 octane fuel.

    • @hdvoice
      @hdvoice 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@gregb1599 wait….What long term knocking? And what was that warranty invalidation you are talking about? You can use 92 gasoline and it has nothing to do with the warranty. Do you know the difference between 87/92/95?
      And where is your proof that this hybrid engine in mg3 is not as efficient as that of the old Yaris? Have you even had them tested side by side before you talk about it out of your imagination.

    Great review and great car. Only con is the rear seat being too tight

    • @gregb1599
      @gregb1599 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a city car. The back seats are for the kids. Still, the MG ZS is still better value and is actually cheaper! And for just an extra $1000, you can get the MG ZST. The new MG3 is not great value for money anymore.

    • @sidjyothi
      @sidjyothi 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@gregb1599 you won't believe it, though I said the rear seat is tight, it is still better than the lexus LBX that I test drove today. That car's rear seat was just shocking

    • @gregb1599
      @gregb1599 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @sidjyothi I actually looked at the LBX, but it's just a very expensive Yaris, and funny, the Yaris gets a lithium battery while the Lexus gets the old tech battery! Also, there are no air vents or fold down arm rest in the back of the LBX!

    • @sidjyothi
      @sidjyothi 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@gregb1599 I think the reason they went with the NiMH battery is for reliability and lesser chance of thermal runaway...I didn't stress too much about the battery chemistry

    • @gregb1599
      @gregb1599 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @sidjyothi Yeah, nothing wrong with NiMh in such small batteries, but the price at $66k and lack of simple things like those missing rear air vents and centre armrest is inexcusable!
