Where do you get one of those Meltrope 3s? Update: There's a Meltrope 1 on ebay for $550 so I'll just have to be happy with my orthophonics and my Victor 4s
The Victrola #2 has a mica diaphragm, and was designed during the acoustic era; the Meltrope III has aluminum, and, I believe, was designed when electric recording came out. It would be interesting, though, to hear the performance of the #2 with an aluminum diaphragm.
No doubt, second one is my choice...Thanks for your dedicated job with these wonderful machines.
Wow! That is one heck of a difference. Amazing!
Great to see your collection getting back together 😀👍
Thanks 👍
The Meltone 3 sounds much better. The cats seem to like it better too!
Isn't it the Meltrope?

The No. 3 was definitely better. It produced less of a “tinny” sound than the No. 2 did.
Second one for me . Less harsh. Both aluminium diaphragms? Maybe play Mel Blancs I Tawt I Taw A Puddy Tat for the children next time?
