Hello, Hannah Demand a Fine Needle Biopsy. I had two biopsies until they got the samples they needed. The rest is history with a total thyroidectomy due to cancer being found. The fact that your Grandpa had it is enough to kick your case into high gear and act with diligence. Hope you get answers soon and sorry to hear you lost your grandpa to the so-called “good cancer.”
I’m 31 with an 11 year old and a 6 month old. My OB did my yearly exam and noted my thyroid was swollen on the right side. I did labs same day and had an ultrasound 4 days later. Meeting with my surgeon in 4 days to have it fully removed. Praying it’s not cancer but it’s very suspicious from the ultrasound so I’m expecting the worst. I’m scared but thankful for my OBs swift action, my endocrinologist and my surgeon are full steam ahead. Trying to take it one step at a time praying it hasn’t spread around my body.
My 28 year old daughter is going through this,3 years this huge great lump shocking cough and all they did was give her antibiotics.wasnt until last month they gave her ultrasound and last week she had her thyroid out and as been really poorly still in hospital.im so furious drs didn't take this serious before.shes got 3 children under 8 and is due to marry her long time partner later this year.
I had a left lobedectomy for the removal of my left thyroid: the mass measured almost 8 cm, it was outside the capsule of the thyroid, bleeding and opaque black. My FNA Biopsy came back for an unusual thyroid cancer, so I decided on just the removal of the left thyroid and half of my ithumis. My father died at the age of 64, he suffered a great deal with thyroid cancer that went undiagnosed until he had falls literally: They said it went to his lungs and to his brain is why he was falling down for unknown reasons. The final autopsy showed he had anaplastic/medullary or indifferent rare thyroid cancer. My oldest brother died at 64 as well 2 years ago: He was not as luck because they did not find his cancer until his final autopsy: The medical examiner finally got to his Thyroid, and found he too had Medullary Thyroid Cancer with Hurthle Cells. My endocrinologist has finally agreed to test me for a RET gene, but not until Febuary 2023, really strange how some doctors function? I'm 61 now, have constant bone pain, my blood calcium is too high at 13, and was as high as 15. I now experience kidney issues with elevated blood pressure. I'm very fit for my age, and still workout daily on weights because soreness in my muscles distract my bone pain. I have a new solid nodule on my right thyroid, a mass in my left lung, they are monitoring these as they told me, and a rescheduled repeat ultrasound on my right thyroid. What's my message? I am a strong fighter and this bump in the road will never get me down: a strong and happy mind is a great state for your whole body. My endocrinologist advised me to back off my workouts? Ha! That's too funny! I've worked out all, these years and have made it thus far, why would I stop? I take my thyroid hormone I'm suppose to and a number of other mods. If your body tells you something is wrong, don't buy into the idea of a doctor telling you there's nothing wrong! You always want to keep a happy and strong mindset: this build endorphins in your brain to help you in your fight, don't give up, never! I've had an amazing journey, I took care of my health, ate good foods, exercise daily, I'm also retired from the U.S. Army, a good career in Radio Broadcasting, I pray daily for others, helped others when I had nothing myself, I have the most beautiful wife inside and out, she's my biggest supporter, I feel truly blessed, and very lucky to live the wonderful life I already had, my work is not done, neither is God's work. I will always pray and help others, remember life is not a race- but indeed a journey as I always try to be as honest as I can, doctors can do likewise but, there is some that are not? @@rezatabatabaei4545 well, to be honest with you I'm fine. I lost another 10 pounds unexpectedly, I had a RET genetic test on 2/7/2023 In about a month from now. I'm still exercising, eating good foods, I do cardio 4 times a week on a boxing skill bag, and on a teeter, it's easier on my joints. My endocrinologist was a little concerned because my red blood cells went back down, but it's not unusual for me: the endocrinologist was a bit concerned about my dramatic weight loss, otherwise all is fine. I have an ultrasound on my right thyroid for re-check on a solid nodule on my right lobe on 2/9/2023. I pray for all thyroid cancer patients world wide: it's funny how leading specialist call this a good cancer since I disagree as this bone pain is excruciating. I would never wish this on my worst enemy: again, I'm praying for all with love of Christ in my heart, God Bless all!🙏🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏💪 stay strong everyone!
@@arthurmabeejr8752 I’m so sorry you are in so much pain. I’m 53, and have MS. My lymph nodes on the left side of my neck, chest and armpit are swollen and painful. My left arm and left side of my face are also swollen. Ultraasound showed hard nodule that is thyroid cancer (I was a nurse before having to retire due to MS) My GP has ordered CAT scan w/ and w/o contrast. Appt w/ ENT for biopsy. At this point it’s staging it, discovering where it has metastisized and making decision for next step. You’re right about the pain…it’s indescribable. This cancer also runs in my family. Depending on what type, and where it has metastisized, s when I’ll make a decision to treat or not. Don’t have a death wish, it’s about quality of life. My MS has progressed as well. I know where I’m going when I die, as Christ is a big part of my life. Admittedly, I am scared of the pain that comes along w/ dying. I pray you are doing well. God Bless and Keep You.
The protocols our NHS doctors have to follow, is just as frustrating to them as it is to us at times. However when it comes to the Thyroid....Britain has its head in the sand.
I had a partial thyroidectomy for a well differentiated thyroid cancer which was minimally invasive. I’ve chosen surveillance of the remaining half of thyroid. The thought of requiring medication for the rest of my life and the downside of trying to treat hypothyroidism fills me with dread. If I’ve made the wrong decision, I will have to live with that, or die by that. Not easy either way.
This is the NHS the national health service in Britain is not fit for purpose. In America she would have been sent for a scan and biopsy, instead of being left to die!
I Wish the Doctors hadn't made this poor woman suffer over and over time and time again, the whole watch n wait thing is damaging to the patients nerves , always worrying if every little sensation could be Cancer , my boyfriends mom kept saying to the Doctor I don't think you got all the Cancer and he kept saying oh we got it all , it's just you thinking those things , mean while it spread to her Lymph Nodes , she is gone now. Here in Canada , they often treat patients with Antibiotics and taking shots in the dark for a couple years before involving a specialist of order scans.
Thank you for your story..The Dr should have given you an ultrasound biopsy 3 years before!!..Damn Dr's!

Terrible 3 years and didn’t do anything so sad. The doctors are to blame for this. Why didn’t they scan and give a biopsy
