This is just great. I always liked Spirit, and this documentary really nails the difficulties and intricacies of spending a summer touring with a top 12 level corps. You watch the DCI finals coverage and, like the olympics, it seems like what they're doing is easy and relaxed. This documentary reminds me of how hard it was, in a good way. Great post - thanks again Mr. Perez!

In my opinion, DCI, is the reason for the demise of what was one of the greatest youth activities in our country. One major mistake, is segment where they say this will be the last performance because they will age out at the age of 21. Dci, never encouraged the kids to go on to her senior drum and bugle c o r p s. That is just one major mistake, others include pricing most drum and bugle Corps out of business, due to the financial demands to go on tour, for several weeks several couple of months per season. Years ago, that would be local competitions maybe two or three within an hour's Drive of wherever you lived. If you did well and those competitions then you would consider going on to either State competitions, or national championship competitions which did require some traveling, but you're not spending thousands and thousands of dollars to go on tour. They've turned Real Drum and bugle Corps, into marching bands superimposed on the three-ring circus. There are no longer Real Drum and bugle Corps in the United States. Today is July 1st 2022.
