These videos are literally the best out there! You know how to make a 15 minute setup video seem so short and an effective use of everyones time! I literally take so much inspiration from your videos and my classroom is looking soooo nice these last couple of years. Creating piles is literally the best thing - you dont know how good it is until you try it. I make piles and my organisation abilities have multiplied!
I am not a teacher. Nor am I learning to be a teacher. I just enjoy watching as people design spaces. I particularly love watching teacher decorating their classrooms lol. I love your energy
Hi there! I love watching your videos. I’m a 2nd-year music teacher. I’ve learned so much from your videos on how to organize. Specifically, I admire how everything is labeled. It simplifies life by 1,000 fold. 😍
I’ve been teaching 23 years (15 in first grade and 7 in second grade)! In my last few years, I’m finally organizing with storage bins, black library bins, etc. Last year, I did a massive purge of my hoard. I didn’t know I accumulated so many centers, books, handouts, etc I simply stopped using. So now I’m storing my essentials in storage bins.
I missed that music! Thanks for bringing it back! I'm starting my 4th year teaching and I watch (and rewatch) your videos every year for inspiration! Thanks for bringing us along!
I love your classroom setup series. I started watching when you were teaching 3rd grade. I have been teaching for 6 years and Ive done 1st grade, 3rd grade and now Preschool. So looking forward to the next video!
This is my 30th year as an elementary school teacher. I will be teaching fourth grade this year. Most school school cleaning crews will clean the carpets and wax the floors and rarely dust or clean shelves.
Love your organization! I’m a second grade teacher and in my 13th year, Gen ed., ESE, and Interventionist, all this year sompray for me! With this teacher shortage we are all going to work harder than ever! Ok, you’ve inspired me to get back to my classroom to get ready for Open house Monday!
Nice: the POWER OF THE PILE! This is exactly what my day is going to be today, including construction. I feel ya! 14th year now. 2/3 combo this time. Thanks for getting my head into the “office” this morning because my body has a lot of work to do!
I'm Andy Walker and I live and teach in the ATL. This is my 22nd year and I teach EIP (Early Intervention Program) to students in grades K thru 3rd. I love it!! I also love following you on all your platforms!! Your creativity and realness is so refreshing!! Keep being awesome!!
I have been teaching 16 years. Started off as a 6th grade math/science teacher to 4th grade and now a S.T.E.M. teacher. Love your your videos! Nice balance between talking and non-talking sequences. Thank you for sharing your energy and wonderful tips of the pile! I use it every year.
Love your organizing. I work in library. 42 years Pre-K-12th grades small school. I hold on to things too. I am trying to learn to let it go. I may try your pile style. Thanks
I taught preschool for 16 years at a non-profit and this year will be my 2nd year in TK (Transitional Kindergarten) at a public school. Love your room and organization!
Retired after 37 years, pretty evenly split between 1st and 2nd grades. I had 28 students my last year and when there wasn't a sub (often) we would end up with 36 kids-- insane! I would do "the pile", too. For me, it was better to look at one pile than to see stuff spread all over the room. I hope it's a wonderful year for you!
I’m not in the classroom anymore (I stay home with my littles, similar in age to your boys!) and I am sooo living vicariously through you :) missing classroom setup!
I have been teaching since 2006 but I did different type of teaching like k-2 reading tutor, avid tutor grade 7-12, preschool teacher, sped teacher k-5 & grade 7-8, and elementary school counselor. For the past 2 yours I have been the resource teacher for grade k-5 at my favorite elementary school. What inspire me to watch your videos are how you set up your classroom and how you do ELA and math stations because I am doing station rotations this school year. I watch your ELA and math stations at least 10x. 😬
I am a Kindergarten teacher from rural IL thus is year 29! Love your videos! I am going into my classroom this week and try your pile method. This is my last week of Summer. Official my report back on the 16th.
I am a first year teacher and I will be teaching 4th grade!! I have been watching you since I started university and I can't wait to get in my classroom to start organizing my stuff!
I have been teaching 25 years. I currently teach Y6 (10 and 11 year olds) but I’ve taught every primary year group from YR to Y6 - which is 4 to 11 year olds. I’m from England. You are my favourite TH-camr!
Hello from WA! Love your videos. This will be my 3rd year teaching.. First year teaching 4th grade- so exciting, previously taught 6th. Can't wait to get into my classroom on the 15th!
Hi Shelley, this is my 17th year and I teach Kindergarten. I totally relate on the purge thing this year. I usually get sucked into the cute stuff at Target or want to get everything I see other teachers post on IG or YT. However, this year, I was strong and only bought 1 caddy from Target and some letter puzzles, 2 pocket charts, magnets and magnetic borders!!!
Year 26 for me just stared. 20 of those are in 2nd grade. Love your videos! Short and to the point…piles are my organization jam too! Have a great year.
This will be my fifth year of teaching & my first year to teach 2nd grade! I noticed your cubby labeled Rooted in Reading texts. I will be using Rooted in Reading this year! I’m excited to use it because it involves read alouds!!
Love how you put everything in a big pile! That’s how I clean and organize my house. I sweep all the kids mess into a big pile and pluck it away with them one toy at a time. ❤ love your videos
This is my 2nd year teaching, but 4th year at my school. I teach 9th grade computer technology and I am one our our Yearbook advisors along with being our IT Director, Social Media Manager, Varsity Volleyball coach, and basketball and baseball stats men. Your logic on making piles has been a lifesaver for me this week and as we went back to work today.
I am a 2nd grade teacher, this school year will be my 12th year teaching AND I’m a soon to be FTM pregnant with twins! Your set up vlogs are seriously inspiring me to plan my space very intentionally for when I go out on maternity leave AND for when I return…!
I absolutely love your vlogs! I teach language and literature in 5th and 6th grade. I watched your video on how you do ELA rotations and got great ideas! I twitched it a bit and it’s been great. Thanks for all that you share !
I love the power of the pile... this year I will not have a class so I need to sort out a lot of things from my classroom... and the power of the pile made an overwhelming task somehow bearable! Thank you for your inspiration :) Greetings from Germany! Oh and I am in my 15th year of teaching... mainly grade 3 and 4 :)
I’m starting my second year of teaching in kindergarten! Been watching your videos since my undergrad and student teaching days. So cool to see how your classroom has evolved from when you taught 3rd, 6th, and now 2nd!! You will always be one of my favorite teachers, wishing you the best school year!!
I do piles too and didn't know it was a thing! lol It always made more sense to me... I also do the same at home when I organize! I'm starting my 25th year teaching! Currently teaching kinder but have taught every grade except 5th. My favorite is 2nd grade!
I love your videos so much! It is my second year of teaching, but first year in third grade! Last year I was a first grade teacher but I’m excited to move up to third. I live by the piles as well! That’s how I organized everything for my room move this year and it helped SO much! Thanks for your videos, they are awesome!!
You are one of my absolute FAV teachers to watch!!! We do things and think very similar 😂 I teacher 4th grade math and science and this will be my 7th year
9th year total, second year in third grade. I miss 2nd grade though, that was my favorite. Thank you for your vlogs. I have such beautiful schedule cards, bin labels, student numbers, and a birthday chart because of you and your creativity!!
This will be my 19th year teaching 2nd grade. Love your videos, you are so organized and you inspired me to clean up my classroom. Have a great first day of school!
Love your videos!! "The pile" is making an appearance in my classroom next week when we can FINALLY get into our rooms! It looks scary and overwhelming but I feel the same way you do-I know where everything goes-but its easier taking it from one big pile then it laying about all around the room!! Also I teach 2nd grade and this is year 9.5 for me! I taught Kindergarten for 8 years before I moved to 2nd!
First year teacher here!! I'll be starting in 2nd grade this year, and watching your videos has made me feel a lot better about how overwhelmed I have felt about classroom set up, what I need and don't need, etc. I love the pile idea and will definitely be using that!! 😂
👌 Awesome job! I'm a homeschool teacher. I taught my twins for 13 years. I started in 1990. They graduated and I switched to being a curriculum director for a private daycare and Preschool/ Kindergarten. Now I'm on my 5th year of teaching my grandkids. Whew, that's a lot of my life...
I have gotten so many great ideas from you as I get ready to set up my first full-year longterm contract! I cannot wait to apply some of these ideas in my classroom!
It is my 2nd year of teaching and 2nd year in 3rd grade! I love 3rd grade! I had the same color table groups last year and loved it. This year I’m going to try table caddies like you have to hopefully have to pass out/ lose less supplies! Thanks for sharing!
I'm also a huge fan of piles when cleaning and reorganizing. I did it when I packed up my room in June, and I'm doing it now in August when I can get back in. (High school teacher going into my 9th year)
Made a huge pile on the carpet of my classroom today! I’ve been watching your channel since I was in college and so exciting to be using your methods during my second year of teaching!💕
I’m going into year 4 of teaching. I’ve taught 5th and 3rd. This upcoming year will be my first time in 2nd! My district starts September 1st, so I still have 2 weeks of summer before I tackle moving classrooms :)
Thank you for sharing. As a Pre-K teacher (entering 5th year; 3 in Pre-K and 1 in 3rd), although the pile is overwhelming to see, I want to try it this year. I am tired of running to one side of the room to put something away and being distracted by an issue there to feel like I have not tackled the problem or sorted it. Thanks for the strategy!
This will be my 13th year teaching (unless you count the 4yrs I did homeschooling). I’m switching from self-contained special education to general education in a combined K-2 classroom in a private school
Not a teacher, yet (going into my junior year of college)! Hopefully going into kindergarten though.. these videos give me so much inspiration for the future :)
I just turned 30 this year. (so I feel you on the whole "body-falling-apart" thing!) This year is year 7 and I teach elementary general music. (K-6 in my district) II enjoy your videos a lot! Honestly I completely credit you with teaching me how to get my classroom more organized/together and with teaching me how to make letters for my bulletin boards. So thanks! lol
Love these videos! I teach in Ontario Canada. Been at it 14 years this year! I teach grade 2 this year as well. Love all the organizational tips. Even though I’ve been at it for what feels like forever already, I’m ALWAYS looking for new, different, fun ways to organize/teach new concepts, so thank you!
You make this look so easy! 🥴 I’m going into year 20 and moved to a different school after 17 years at my old school in 1 & 2…I feel like I’ve been setting up all summer! Grade 3 this year!
Again, love your videos Shelley! I look forward to these videos each year. 😁 I have taught 3rd grade for 6 years but I am now teaching 2nd and 3rd grade math. It's a big change compared to what I had been teaching. Fingers crossed everything works out this year. Have a great year! 😊 I'll keep ya in my prayers with that construction distraction outside your window! 😳
Hello! Thank you for your wonderful videos! I am going into my 13th year of teaching. I teach 3rd grade in AZ, and our first day of school is on Wednesday, August 10. Side note, I also have two boys (the second one is currently on the way).
Hi Shelly! I am new to your channel and loving it! I will begin my 18th year of teaching in September! I teach first grade in upstate New York! I totally vibe with the “power of the pile”! Love it!
MD . This will be year 23 teaching PreK. It makes me happy when others have as much as me because I get ragged on for having so much, but if you need something I probably have it, including a cordless glue gun now.
I have to tell you this… I used to make fun of my mom for watching card making videos on TH-cam. One day she turned it around on me and said that she bet I would watch teachers on TH-cam as much as she watched her videos. Then she searched for one and found your channel. We watched a bunch of them together and she was right, I was hooked! My mom passed away (Covid and heart issues) a little over a year ago and every time I watch your videos it makes me think of her. I have since introduced your videos to my coworkers and they are hooked as well! Thank you for taking the time to make and post your videos! I teach second grade and am getting ready to start year 23!!! 😊
This is my first year teaching and I’m teaching 3rd grade. I literally have never seen my classroom and I have no materials or books or anything yet but I hope it goes well!
Love your videos 💜 This is year 19 for me but my first year in Kindergarten. I was in 1st grade for 9 years, also taught Pre K, 2 and 3. Have a great school 🏫 year ☺️
Been teaching since I started school to become a teacher in 2008. Sub at first. I got my first own class in 2016. In the school I teach here in Sweden we teach our students in 3 years från 1-3 grade and then starts over again. I have a 3 grade this year and I have followed them from 1 grade. I have been following your setups and love them, and finding inspiration to take in to my classroom and much more.
Inspirational, as always. I teach a 1st-2nd combo class. I have taught for 16 years and am gearing up to start year 17. 😳 I have always taught in a combo class of anywhere from 2-4 grades at a time. Last year I only had 10 kids, which was a dream, but this year I currently have 16 kids and no aide. 😬 I know 16 doesn’t sound like a lot, but when it’s a combo class with the younger ones, it’s a lot! I’m excited to keep seeing your videos. We start school next Wednesday, August 10 and I feel like your room is more ready than mine. 😂 I hope you have a fantastic year!

Hi there! I love watching your videos. I’m a 2nd-year music teacher. I’ve learned so much from your videos on how to organize. Specifically, I admire how everything is labeled. It simplifies life by 1,000 fold. 😍
We need a week just to clean the dirt, dust and droppings everywhere!!!! It's crazy 🤪
I’ve been teaching 23 years (15 in first grade and 7 in second grade)! In my last few years, I’m finally organizing with storage bins, black library bins, etc. Last year, I did a massive purge of my hoard. Yeah for organizing, purging, cleaning, and tackling THE PILE! You Rock! 🥰

Love your classroom set up videos! I am going into my 5th year of teaching in 4th grade! 💕
Getting ready to start my 14th year teaching high school. It always surprises me the number of ideas I pick up from elementary teachers on TH-cam.

I am a senior in highschool and I’m looking to teach either 1st or 2nd grade! I’ve watched you since your first year of teaching. Love your videos!!!
Watching you tackle that pile was so satisfying! I’m actually not a teacher, but I really need to try that at home! 😁

I just turned 30 this year. (so I feel you on the whole "body-falling-apart" thing!)
This year is year 7 and I teach elementary general music. (K-6 in my district)
II enjoy your videos a lot! Honestly I completely credit you with teaching me how to get my classroom more organized/together and with teaching me how to make letters for my bulletin boards. So thanks! lol

Hi Shelly! I am new to your channel and loving it! I will begin my 18th year of teaching in September! I teach first grade in upstate New York! I totally vibe with the “power of the pile”! Love it!
I just love your videos! I am a 2nd year 3rd-5th grade self contained special education teacher in New York!
I’m jealous of your organizational skills. My classroom always feels like a hurricane blew through it.
Wow this is incredible ❤️ I’m so glad my videos can bring you joy!!
Have a great school 🏫 year ☺️
Starting my 6th year and teaching Kindergarten.
First year teacher here! I can’t get over the pink chair 😍
100% agree. Piles are the Best. Hahahaha. Great video. I enjoy all your videos and all the experience you share with us. Thanks
Love your videos even though I teach 6th grade. I’ve been teaching for +20 years!!
I hope you have a fantastic year!
Love your videos!
This will be my 5th year teaching!! I can't believe it. I teach 7th grade English Language Arts :)
You’re amazing!!!!
I’m starting year 27 - all in Kindergarten
