Very inspiring! This would work very well in Blight, Expedition, Harvest, Ritual, and boss battles, where the mobs are concentrated in a small area. This build is on a directly opposite direction than Tornado Shot
unfortunately there may be a projectile limit lmao? I noticed my soulrend of the spiral would stop spawning the blobs after spamming it in the hideout. could just be a visual thing
Thats why i play this game, you can do a Lot of cool stuff! I play with rocketman since Vesuvius vaal molten Shell pop up and i still falling in love with that build every single time when i can put the pieces togheter and rocks this entre game!
If there's not a limit on the amount of proj on the screen you could run 5 way (contingent the projs reach the walls) or blight maps and just cover all the floor on dark fire from your position,
Have you considered testing with Arcanist Brand? Arcanist Brand has a hard projectile distance limit of about 4.8 meters, at which point projectiles created by linked spells are forced to Return. You could use this to concentrate the projectiles you're creating in a much smaller area.
I ran Soulrend in HC this league up to about LVL 90. Used the Battlemage ascendency with the Rebuke of the Vaal sword and then scaled it on my ES from there. Aegis Aurora with a Shavs worked very well and was exceptionally tanky as well. Single target was the main problem but for map clear it worked quite well.
hey, im curious if you could maybe invite us to a discord server to discuss this type of build further? im very interested in the possibilitys of slower proj builds. thanks!
I’ll think about it! Really I wanna see if I can get people who just want to experiment, not just for the slowed projectile tech rn. Not just limit the topic to the one
so far on the occultist I'm running, it's falling victim to the issues with chaos dot in general. just not enough damage readily available. It would work best with something that could scale defenses and dot multi at the same time somehow. Eye of winter is on the list of skills to test. may just do a quick test showcase with a brand to just have it documented
level 80 currently, oh yea it would. unfortunately the builds I references weren't that tanky, so I need to figure out a way to scale the chaos damage/dot and defense at the same time
@@TuskDeluxe PATHFINDER makes you abnormally tanky for a really low expense, you only need to give up belt for the new flask belt. Unique flasks and flasks with increased effect are 100% uptime
@@daruthebeast yea I may need to lean hard on some meta defenses. Right now I'm struggling to get decent damage and build tanky on an occultist. the damage part is more-so just an issue of chaos dot, so if I want this tech to be at all "viable" to the community standards I gotta make up for it's lack of damage with sustain. I want my gimmick of a screen filled with cats to actually work god damn it
Can this "hits" more than 1 time if it stay on enemy, I'm talking about hit base damage here, coz if it can it's super good. If it's just the dot then I guess it's not that good since you loose out on "aoe"
unfortunately no, it doesn't hit more than once, only reapplies the dot within the area. If you're looking for hit and aoe with slower projectiles, check out rolling magma with reduced speed
@@TuskDeluxe Yeah that seems like the only option, Proj spell that has a fixed maximum distance is very rare isn't it. This remind me of the kalandra league reduce proj speed helix build
Not sure what are you trying to achieve here. Soulrend of the spiral is good for shotgunning and slow projectiles dont make you hit more like ball lightning, unless you know for sure im wrong here. The DoT part does not stack so you just have a better uptime for the dot part of the skill.
As far as I know, people don't play the dot versus because of the lack of uptime (.6 seconds), and the cost of the skill+ cast speed necessary to maintain the uptime. With reduced projectile speed, the idea is that we cast it once and now we've created an *area* where the dot it constantly reapplied for 10-15 seconds. the dot is also NOT applied by the hit, but by an area around the projectile (which is like 1.2m) Now we can ignore cast speed and cost cause we only need to cast once per pack. and this lets use focus on ramping wither and other damage multipliers while the soul rend is doing it's thing This is all in theory. I'm not saying I know this is a good or better way to use the skill. I'm just playing with my toys here lmao
@@TuskDeluxe I understand the idea of using this tech to cast soulrend only once to constantly apply the debuff over a target for several seconds. However, I do think the real potential lies in a skill like ball lightning (or spark), where the damage per cast is rate limited by how long the projectile covers the target. Are there any other skills that you've thought of that would benefit from this? Obviously there are skills like spectral helix, but that can't be used since we need the bow/quiver combo to reach 95% reduced speed.

The soulrend do have a max distance so they won’t go indefinitely. But the dream is to cast it every couple steps and just run past mobs cause they’re still gonna die. Been trying to make this viable since widowhail came out. Its fun but not good in the long run. I hope you have better luck

i love this game.

Think this should only be viable with ball lightning since you can scale aoe cast speed and proj speed. All more multiplication DPS scale.

try a hit based build with either of the transfigured gems i see this build owning a similcrum
please figure this out with CoC with mageblood xD
should work well with ball lightning although it has a hit limiit
