  • The Dubai Metro is a rapid transit rail network in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
In this video I have covered all types of Nol cards mainly Gold, Blue, Red & Silver. Also I have covered 7 Days unlimited Travel Card for Tourist which allows to travel on Metro, Trams & Water Taxi Ways. We can travel from Dubai Airport to Dubai City Centre/ Downtown without any issues.

With Dubai's public convenience in mind, RTA is introducing the Nol Card as the way to travel around Dubai. Cash will not be accepted for payment to use Metro, Buses and Water Buses.
A Dubai Metro train comprises of various types of cabins, designated for different types of commuters, which include nol gold card holders cabin, designated group of cabins for women and children and general cabins.
The Dubai Metro network comprises of Red line and Green line routes, both of which, combined, cover the main populated areas of the Emirate. The below map showcases all the metro and tram stations that come under the full rail network, including Red line stations, Green line stations and Tram stations.
Red Line : Red line has 29 total stations, and it covers over 52.1 kilometers. The red line and the green line have different routes. Redline has two stops that connect with the green line so that passengers do not have to travel a long distance to change their line. The two stations where the Dubai metro map connects with greenline are Union Metro station and Bur Juman metro station.
Red line starts from the Al Rashidiya station and ends at the UAE exchange station. Here is a list of all the stations in a sequence that you can find in the red line:
    R11 - Centrepoint
    R12 - Emirates
    R13 - Airport Terminal 3
    R14 - Airport Terminal 1
    R15 - GGICO

    Green Line
The route of the green line is parallel to Dubai metro red line map. It has around 20 stations and covers a distance of 22.5 kilometers that starts from the Etisalat station to the Dubai Creek station. In 2011, the green line was launched, but a lot of stations were not functional.
Here is a list of all the Metro green line stations that are presented here in a sequence
    Etisalat
    Al Qusais
    Dubai Airport Free Zone
    Al Nahda
    Stadium
    Al Qiyadah
    Abu Hail
    Abu Baker Al Siddique
    Salah Al Din
    Union
    Baniyas Square
    Gold Square

    Al Ras
    Al Gubaiba
    Sharaf DG
    Burjaman
    Oud Metha
    Dubai Healthcare City
    Al Jadaf
    Creek
The green line also has a lot of passengers daily because of the route that it has. As per the Dubai metro map, greenline connects the metro station of Etisalat in Al Qusais with the Creek Metro Station. The areas of Deira and Bur Dubai are considered to be highly populated, and the green line covers both of these areas. This line also has 8 underground stations.
The Dubai Tram is an essential part of the public transport network in the city providing maximum convenience, safety and security for passengers. With 11 stations and a route that includes several landmarks such as Dubai Marina and JBR, the Dubai Tram is a convenient way to get from one place to another.
The Dubai Tram was built to link the Dubai Metro with the Palm Monorail along the Jumeirah Beach Road and Al Sufouh Road. It loops around Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Beach Residence and Al Sufouh Road passing through Dubai Media City, Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Knowledge Park.
Here is the list of Dubai Tram stations:
    JBR 1 Tram Station
    JBR 2 Tram Station
    JLT Tram Station
    Dubai Marina Mall
    Dubai Marina Tram Station
    Marina Towers Tram Station
    Mina Seyahi Tram Station
    Media City Tram Station
    Palm Jumeirah Tram Station
    Knowledge Village Tram Station
    Al Sufouh Tram Station
ACCESSING DUBAI TRAM STATIONS USING THE DUBAI METRO
You can interchange to Dubai Metro and Palm Monorail from specific Dubai Tram stations. Get off the tram at Dubai Marina station and walk over to the DAMAC Properties Metro Station served by the Red Line Metro. Alternatively, board the tram at Jumeirah Lakes Towers station and find a metro at the DMCC Metro Station.

can we buy the 1 week unlimited silver card from airport dubai metro station in terminal 3? please confirm as i will be travelling next week . Also we can top up the card with additional money so that it can be used for taxi later on .

    • @travellingtipsbysunny4142
      @travellingtipsbysunny4142  หลายเดือนก่อน

Yes, you can buy at Airport as well. But first you need to buy Nol Silver card for AED 25 from counter. You can buy card from Airport as well. The card will have balance of AED 19. Then go to automatic machine, add balance/top up card. Now you can buy one week unlimited pass as per your require Zone. If you are traveling within that Zone, then it will be free, but if you’re traveling in other Zone. Then money will be deducted from your NOL card, hence keep atleast AED 7.5 balance in card, if you are not buying all zones. And yes, you can keep/ add extra money in Nol card and can use it for taxi. But generally taxi accepts cash.

Hi, Sorry, we cannot use Nol card in Monorail. We can only use for Metro, Tram, Busses & some water Taxi. For monorail which runs between Palm Jumeriah and Atlantis cost between AED 15 to AED 30 for return trip...Personally, I would suggest to take monorail until Pointee, this station is second last station, just before Atlantis & cost AED 15....but if you go until Atlantis, then ticket will cost AED 30.....for best view go upto pointee only. Hope this helps.

I have few questions and your answers would be helpful.
I am only staying in dubai for 5 days. Is unlimited silver nol card worth for me or keeping a silver card with a limited balance?
Also if i have to travel to all the zones, can i just recharge 50 or 60 AED and travel all zones or is it mandatory to recharge 110 AED?

    • @travellingtipsbysunny4142
      @travellingtipsbysunny4142  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

Hi, the unlimited pass is minimum 7 days, but if you are staying only for 5 days, then I would suggest NOT to buy unlimited travel pass....Top up Nol Card with AED 30 to 40, you can top up more if require. Personally, in morning I was taking Metro, however while coming back in night I was taking Taxi.

Hi Ameer, both stations are same Zone i.e. Zone 5, for single ticket/ride it will cost AED 3, so for return it will cost AED 6. The price for monthly pass is AED 140 which means for per day it will cost you AED 4.70 (AED 140/7 = 4.70)...If you will be working for more than 23 days in a month, then it is better to buy monthly pass. Hope this helps.

Hello, once you buy any unlimited pass, then there is NO need to keep any minimum balance in card....However if you travel outside of purchased Zone then you need to keep AED 7.5 minimum balance. E.g., you bought Zone1 unlimited pass, but you crossed Zone 1 and travelled to other Zones, then you need to keep minimum AED 7.5 balance.

Regarding Bus & Trams, With your nol card you can travel on Dubai's Metro, Buses and Water Buses which have stations located at different zones. Depending on the number of zones you travel, the fare will be calculated.During your journey you can make transfers across Bus and Metro.

No Minimum Balance rule is not applicable for RED Ticket, because there is no balance option in Red Ticket. The Price for Red Ticket is AED 2. After buying Red Ticket, you need to top up number of journeys e.g. if you want to travel from Burjman Metro Station to Palm Jumeirah Tram via Shobha Reality Metro, and assume total fare for entire journey is AED 7.5, then you need to top journey and pay money accordingly. You can top up 10 journeys in Red Ticket ticket, but you cannot top-up any balance in Red Ticket. Hope this helps.

If you are going to travel totally in Metro, Trams then you can go for 7 Days Unlimited Pass which cost AED 110 for all Zones. For remaining 2 days, 1 day you can go for Desert Safari, here you will not need to Metro because of majority of Desert Safari have hotel pick up & drop, and remaining 1 day you can go for shopping, here you can use Metro by paying pay per ride which can be between AED 3 to AED 7.5, depending where you are travelling. Personally, I did not bought 7 Day Pass, instead I was using Pay Per Ride, because morning I was taking Metro, but while coming back in evening I was using taxi. My hotel was around 10 mins walking from Metro station, and generally all hotel are around 10-15 mins walking distance from Metro, so after tiring day most probably you will use taxi, specially if you are travelling with family or more than 2 people. If I compare Metro v/s Taxi, for 3 people the metro can cost anywhere between AED 9 (3 x 3 ) to AED 22.5 (7.5 x3), whereas the taxi cost around AED 35 to 40, for similar distance, considering efforts & travel time, because Metro can take 1 hour to 1 hour 15 mins, whereas Taxi will take 20 mins, it would be better to travel in Taxi while coming from tiring day. Hope this helps.

Hi Kiran, yes you can take Dubai Metro from Terminal 1 & Terminal 3. Also, you can buy NOL Card at Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 Metro Station. There 2 lines in Dubai Metro, Red Line & Green Line. The Red line comes at Terminal 1 & Terminal 3. Both lines connect at Union Stations which is only 4 stops from Airport. So if your hotel is near Green Line Metro, then you can change from Red to Green line at Union Station.
