I just came back from a 7 day trip to Dubai and used niyo card exclusively. It’s the best option out there. Here are some observations:
1. We had planned to use public transport but it was so hot that we ended up using hala cabs most of the time.
2. Almost all places accept these cards including cabs (exception: Deira electronics market where everyone accepted cash only)
3. Burj Khalifa tickets are not worth the money.
We are scheduled for first week of Oct, hoping for little better weather ! Carrying the Niyo Card and about AED1000 just for emergency.
If I want to buy electronics from shop in Bur Dubai I guess they charger extra 2-3% if using card, right? In case places, is it better to just take money from atm using niyo global right.? Did you ever take money from atm in dubai using niyo global? If yes, apart from the ₹118 niyo charges, anything else is charged?

I just landed at 1am last night and my niyo global card worked effortlessly at the airport, in the taxi and even at the hotel. So go Niyo! Just select the AED option during the transaction and it gets processed.

@Aditi, did you happen to withdraw any atm cash? If yes then any extra charge apart from ₹118 that niyo charges? Also for whatever payment you did on Niyo, the equivalent current exchange rate amount in rupees was deducted from account?

Don’t go for this card they don’t have any customer service neither do they have any toll free no. I was in Dubai with my friend last week mine was working fine but his card was on hold as he had more than 5 lk in niyo account. We sold gold and paid our bills our trip got spoiled for proof look in twitter one will get to know amount of complaint it receives they block ur card one can’t even transfer fund and one more thing even on niyo card all the taxi and shopkeepers charge extra 2.5%. So kindly don’t misguide ur viewers.
@@Morphinetravellers I returned from Dubai just 48 hours back and used Niyo almost everywhere. Even made a payment of 1L plus using Niyo without any issues. The card worked perfectly everywhere. Please tell us in detail what happened with you.
I carried this card to Dubai.
Totally fraud card
When i tried to swap in a shop he said he will charge extra 2% so went to ATM to withdraw cash
The conversion charges it showed in ATM was nearly 5%
So had to skip shopping as kept all payment in NEO GLOBAL CARD.

Basic customer misunderstanding and customer fault. You should have read the charges while applying. It is best used when u swap on pos machines for purchase. So u should have used with all merchants who did not ask extra charges, like malls, taxi, restaurants, groceries, tickets etc basically everywhere. Obviously it charges extra for atm withdrawal.

Just a point related to Niyo Global. We did carry it but RBI has temporarily paused all international transactions just a couple of days back. We could not use it and had to pay after giving forex charges on regular cards. So, pls see govt notification before taking Niyo Global till the issue is resolved.

Niyo is a fraudster. My amount was defected from Niyo card in a fraudulent transaction and I got zero support from Niyo. I had to loose my money.
I don't know about ur case, but sometime back i was also victim of fraud and my hsbc card company also didn't give my money back. You can tag niyo management and try if they provide any better support

There is a news from government that international transactions are on hold by niyo bank. So to avoid inconvenience use any other mode. Like credit card, or cash
