One of the problems am having with we African is whenever we begin to hail a leader which we know how brutal he was during his life time because he gave nice speech. They all have good speech to present simply because the speech was not written by most of them but that doesn't change who they are which is what we are seeing.
The fact remains he stood by his words even if he did not write the speech. Looking back at leaders that succeeded him I don't see any one who you can categorically say that surpasse him in achievement. He had his shortcomings as a ruler but security, economy and infrastructure wise you have to give it to Abacha.
