This is cool. I love the idea of the build and I love the level of detail you're giving us in these videos. (Injecting water downstream of the supercharger to cool the input air is one of those ideas I never considered, but makes perfect physical sense in retrospect.)
Packbat (RobinZimm) The actual water injection part I will certainly go over into much more detail as we move closer to that part of the project, but in this case It will actually be sprayed upstream of the supercharger, so as the air compresses it can use the water to dissipate its heat..but like I said, much more detail and explanation as we get closer.
+ConeDodger240 That eaton is roots style blower. It does not compress air internally it just pumps air to the manifold. You should look into some kind of additive to water. Alcohol is not primarily used to boost the octane. It is used to lower the freezing point of the mixture if needed and also works as anti algae and bacterial agent. If you use just water (worse tap water) the temperature of your water injection water will not be hopefully high enough to kill micro-organisms and you might end up with algae or other kind of build up in your system. That will end up making a mess and cloggin up your system.
+NailHead86 That part of the project is certainly further down the pipeline, the issue with using any kind of alcohol or methanol based spray is the Teflon coated lobes in the blower, it would have to be sprayed post supercharger. Whether or not its effective in that way is unknown, and will have to be tested on in the future. Not too worried about the alge/microorganisms issue though. Distilled water is easy to acquire, and the entire system will involve a 1gal tank and less than a foot of hose. Should be easy to maintain, but we'll just have to try it to find out.
+NailHead86 Any thoughts on the effectiveness of spraying pre blower vs post? I understand the actual supercharger does not "house" compression, but the act of air compression does indeed happen within the unit as it tapers down towards the intake. Makes me think that it would be more effective to have the mist for that process.
Highly interested in this project. Considering supercharging my Nissan Navara 99' which has the KA24DE. I have the same thoughts as you, not many KA24's are supercharged. Cool project!

Is there any chance you could go into more detail later on installing/programming/tuning the megasquirt ecu when you get to that point? it's something i've always wanted to learn but just never had the time. Talk about project creep! the injectors are leaking, might as well get bigger ones and supercharge it! :P There's a guy in my region with a supercharged miata who is about to embark on the next step, a full engine build. let the project creep continue!

Cone, Came across your vid RE SuperCharging the Ka24de engine. Great Job! I'm currently "window shopping" on doing a swap until someone mentioned a SuperCharger. I'm curious to know if the engine is still running and if you can lead me where I can buy a SuperCharger kit?
There are no super charger kits on the market anymore (that i'm aware of), the only option really is to make the adapters from scratch. It's not a terribly complicated process but still is exponentially more work than turbo options. It's technically possible, but you would really be compounding air intake heat issues, ideally you would want the blower to disengage above a certain RPM/boost, as most twincharge setups do.
Not in about 15 years, they are definitely something you can make yourself though, just have to align the holes on both sides and correctly align the supercharger with the pulleys.
It's always refreshing to see an s13 still running a ka instead of a raggedy sr or poorly executed ls swap.

I have a frontier, 2001 ka24de. how can I get that supercharger?
The supercharger was made for the v6 frontier not ka, so it would have to be a custom deal like mine

Nah ditch the fuel injection and do a blowthrough setup with a Hitachi DCH340
