Every year we host a Halloween party at out house. The wife is running around cleaning everything that's not nailed down. Son is putting together his costume. Me I'm hiding in my shop sitting on a bucket watching corporal corner. Life is good. Outstanding AF.
I saw a video once with a old Native American lady showing how her tribe used to boil water with rocks. She had two containers of water and when she pulled out a stone from the fire, she dunked it in the first container for a half second and it immediately cleaned the stone of ash then she put it in the second container to boil the water to make it drinkable. The second container still had perfectly clear water after it was done.
My man I'm speachless. Real buscraft survival lesson like this is really hard to come by. That rock soup blew my mind. Thank you Corporal I salute you.

I LOVE how practical you are and that you explain it. So many people, like you said about the blanket, are triggered AF because they think things MUST be done only ONE certain way. In reality, there are MANY great ways to survive and no one way is the right way. As long as you have the most practical tools, no matter how few, you can manage or make any other tool you might need.
Starting off with a Captain America comment? Pure win! You know, sometimes I think my bugout bag should consist purely of plastic wrap and aluminum foil. Maybe some duct tape and WD-40 if I want to rebuild society.

As a SAR Mgr I would like to see you give an estamated time for camp set up at the start of your videos. Then after set up tell us the actual time. Most people who very seldom go into the bush have no concept of the amount of time this takes. I still find out new ideas from your videos, thanks for the time you put into them.
You ain't kidding. I have had newbies estimate 15 minutes before now for a basic tent setup. It took well over 90 minutes by the time they had found a half decent amount of wood to burn and made a couple of Dakota fire pits and got them lit.

I heard a good tip about your cellphone if your lost. Change your voicemail to tell your location and as much detail you can give as possible. Even if your phone dies people can still find out where you are.
Hadn't thought of tinfoil as such a useful emergency "utility hitter" when needed. Good video, and good examples of how the right mindset can allow you to accomplish a lot with a little.

A great video, information and fun at the same time.
One suggestion, when "Bartoning", wood, sticks, etc. Leave the blade and handle in a 90° configuration. This prevents damage to the joint so the knife/spring in the joint stays tight.

I'm a relatively new subscriber (and a binge watcher now - lol ) but one valuable piece of info I haven't seen you give is the approximate time on your sheltering/fire creations. This could be important if one was out in the woods and needed to determine when they should start to prepare for the night.

As usual, Sean, an excellent episode! Love the idea that many of us had considered, but never had the guts to do. Your idea of boiling with heated rocks is only natural. How many of us read Indian (feather not dot) culture books and heard about them doing the same. Your idea of digging a depression bowl and lining it with aluminum foil is genius. Another one for the books.

When cleaning out my grandma's house after she passed away, I lucked up and found a few old Bic lighters from the 80s. The one with the flame adjustment wheel on the front of the lighter. Was a cool find. 2 of them still half full of fluid and 1 was almost empty. All 3 still lit up. Fun video. Look forward to seeing next one. Enjoy week ahead.
Thanks for this video..... This is what bush craft is all about the use of minimal tools to survive. Most other so called bush survival channels don't come close to showing and demonstrating the way to survive as you do. Keep up the good work and show more videos like this! Please include links in your description for channels you give shout-outs to. Sure it makes it easier for viewers to find those channels, but more importanltly when they link back all those cross-links creates a pointer for the algorithm and will help your cahannel get more visibility. The more you're seen the easier it will be to make videos, and I think we all want more Corporal.

I always taught the FAA Ground Survival Course when you've collected wood then multiply by 3 times. We designed a survival kit that kept 3people alive for 72 hours. Most situations were about that time. We had a couple crash into the Everglades and it worked. He had a broken leg and she broke her arm but the survival kit and training served them well.
AWESOME AF. OUTSTANDING AS USUAL !!!!! I MISS THE LONGER VIDEO PRESENTATION. THE AMOUNT OF WORK YOU PUT IN TO THE MAKING OF THE VIDEO CANT BE APPRECIATED IN A 30 minute period.
Another good video; thank you! Sometimes I use my baseball cap as my "outer bowl" and then line it with the tin foil for the "inner bowl"... It helps hold the bowl shape, and also, if the soup's hot, I can hold on to the bill of the cap as my handle! :)

Outstanding! When I was an Asst. Scout Master, on our longer camps we would have a 1 night minimal gear night for volunteer Senior Scouts. They would chose 5 items to take on their overnighter away from the rest of the troop (supervised of course) and each other, they enjoyed the hands on learning experience and would have a critique the next morning and share their experiences. You never fail to surprise and impress, keep them coming and stay safe.
I just realized why I connect so well with your videos and with your way of explaining what you're doing. I served in the U.S. Army during Operation Desert Shield/Storm and later became a certified welder. After 19 years of welding, I wound up with permanent damage to my lumbar vertebrae. Welding career over. I find myself drawn to the woods and outdoors. Fishing, camping, woodscraft/bushcraft, hiking, or just standing in a small wooded area recharges my batteries a bit. Thank you for all YOU do to bring this quality content to us.
This video is golden, so many good techniques that works with the limited tools he selected. Also a reality check that you will only get about 2-3h sleep if you depend on a fire to keep warm. But heck, it’s survival not a camping trip

Let's me know that I'm gonna have to beef up my minimalist kit. I don't want to have to survive like that for a couple days. Good to know the reality of those mylar survival blankets. Always wondered on how good could something that thin be in a survival situation, better as a roof than an actual blanket.
With some Gorilla tape to reinforce the corners, a mylar survival blanket COULD become a tarp. At least in an emergency.

Try the AMK Heetsheet emergency blanket. Its bigger, tougher, and quieter than mylar blankets. Consider adding a candle to your kit. Another good video. Good Luck, Rick
I've read about boiling water with rocks. After watching this video I would have to be very thirsty. Note to self ; carry a lighter and metal container.

I like your videos. I am a retired US Army soldier that served in the signal corps. I have a hint for you. Did you know that the matches in an MRE had sulfur in them? When I was stationed in Panama. Through trial and error, I learned to eat the match heads. When I sweated the sulfur came out and repelled mosquitoes from stinging me.
Also are you going to include the catching , killing and preparation of small animals in your videos? The hunting and preparation and cooking of say a rabbit or squirrel came be a big help to someone in an emergency. I do like your videos because I like going hunting as much as I can in Washington state. Thank you for the ideas.

Just amazing how much I learned in a 26 min video!! I always have in my pocket a Forester Swiss Army knife, a bic lighter and an Ez-Red pocket flashight. I feel vulnerable without them and I use them every day. A military poncho is also a must. Thank you Sir for showing us how much can be done with so little. It is the true definition of survival.

What's goin on. New to your stuff as of yesterday but always been interested in having the ability to go out by yourself and practically/efficiently make it happen. So far, all of your videos I've seen have embodied that completely. Everyone understands teaching methods differently and there's a huge pool to pick from when trying to learn survival techniques, so the idea that the same people are using their energy to hate on or dislike your content just off personal bias is insanely laughable. At the end of the day you're using your time and resources to try and inform people on topics youre passionate and knowledgeable about, with the intent of it potentially being life saving. I've taken in from multiple sources and you're doing a damn good job in my opinion. Keep doing you homie

I love this video! Everything in this could fit in your glove box or under the passenger seat are in a woman’s large handbag and a few extra things could actually make you comfortable. You are a fantastic teacher! You make it feel like the impossible is possible by the least of those ready for the woods or hardship. Thank you for all of your hard work. Every time i hear Bush Craft i think back to being a kid & Building Forts / Shelters in Bushes & Christmas Trees. The Hidrania ( spellcheck) Bush we Goose necked the Stems together with rope up a good 3'-4' up toss a blanket over the top & use chicken wire & sticks around then weave Grass in the C.wire for walls. Christmas 🎄 Trees were lil easier, stake out an area round the tree use inner branches for a sm 🔥& long sticks for walls in the Winter we used Snow for walls instead. Tks. Again for the Share & Have a Good Week !!!

I see pockets kits before but never believed they would work great job
