My employer purchased an ego snowblower last year and was expecting to laugh at it in wet snow-it was actually very impressive, granted it was a small erea but it threw 8 inches of slop pretty easy.
Watching all the TH-camrs better explain things than the stiff reps is the new normal. I love Ego even though I go through about 2 string trimmers a year and their batteries drastically lose performance after a few months. I have a pile of broken trimmers and batteries I'm saving to work on when I have time. There are replacement parts for ego but they seem to withhold some easy fix parts to sell more expensive full assemblies. But can't complain, more repairable than green works and I am a better human not ingesting 2 stroke exhaust and hearing that 2 stroke scream all day.
I love my Ego mower but the battery started going south at a year and a half. It finally failed at the beginning of the second year. I called Ego and they claimed I had never registered it but I had. I ended up taking the battery and charger to Ace Hardware which is an authorized repair center along with the receipt. 2 weeks later they said Ego would replace it. One thing I do with pricy purchases like this is staple the receipt to the owners manual and put it somewhere safe. But always register your warranty!
I started into the EGO world with a lawnmower in May of 2016. I still have and use that original battery (we had a 1/2 acre lawn at that home at that time, and put in 3 years of mowing at that home with just that battery). Today I've got 6 EGO batteries and 7 EGO tools, and haven't needed to recycle a single battery yet...still use all of them, depending upon the tool I'm working with.
I have an EGO lawn trimmer and the battery died after years. It doesn’t take a charge, no lights whatsoever. I called EGO and they sent me a new one. I found a repair shop in PA. It will cost 179.00 to rebuild the 5.0 amp battery. Better than spending 300 for a new one. My only issue with the company is the cost of the products and batteries. At that cost most people will never be able to afford them.
Hopefully they can integrate some sort of tracking system into their batteries. Last thing I want to do is make this jump and sink tens of thousands into batteries only to have some low life walk off with one two or all of them. I'm sure it can be done hopefully a rep for the brand sees and considers this.
Stan, unfortunately battery operated equipment is going to be mandated with time. It is quickly evolving. Gas powered Leaf blowers are the 1st to go. Thank you again for your channel!!🇺🇸
List price without batteries is $1299 but with batteries it’s now “just north of $2000. “ Note he said you get two hours run time out of the two batteries at about $400 a pop. So for a full eight hour day of mowing you would need four sets or eight total x $400 each = $3200 plus the mower at $1299 so now you are ponying up around $4300 for one mower.
I bought the Ego power head and attachments and have been blown away with the performance. Stan, have you asked how many cycles the batteries will run before degrading?
STANLEY IS ALWAYS A BETTER SALESMAN THAN THE ACTUAL WORKERS...HE ALWAYS KNOWS MORE ABOUT THERE OWN PRODUCT THAN THEY DO...SORRY CAPS i dont wanna re type
Another approach to add to this is a Hybrid. Now that we don't have to maintain so many engines, run a invertor generator on the tongue of the trailer during those phase that require charging. At this point you have power as you need it to charge and you have the reliability of battery/ev motor on the lawn tools for efficiency. Stan you ask the correct questions and we apprciate that. Can the charger support Solar as an input?
I enjoy the new information. We have a 19" Echo electric and it lacks power. Of course I like my 34 hp Toro or my 28 hp John Deere, but they did cost over 20 K each.
I just don’t see the commercial landscaper having all those batteries. They need to incorporate hooks to put shovels, rakes and everything else in between them.
The price of the service is gonna be way more due to battery cost. The batteries are crazy expensive. And in commercial use they are gonna go through replacement batteries like crazy. I love my ego stuff for my home use.
Battery degrading is never a topic. They are only good a year for daily use. Cold makes it much worse, if your holding in a cold area get the space to 50-60 deg. Love the battery tools end up buying alot of batteries over the last 7 or so years.
Hi Stan, you need to consider performance vs cost. What is the life of the battery? What happens to run-time when the batteries get hot or cold? What about safety i.e. fires. If you do a total evaluation, I think the picture will seem less wonderful. The devil is in the details. "Just because you could doesn't mean you should." This nation's car lots are full of unsold EVs. There is a reason for that. Shalom/gw (EE Ret.)
EGO, If you're listening... You need to build something to match the Toro TimeMaster. Key specs, 30" cut width, personal pace ( 4.5mph not your 3.1mph turtle). I own the EGO amazing multi tool with all attachments, blowers. Love them but cannot buy these mowers yet. Still waiting....
Dang! Ego goin hard! Some cool stuff, good show. I'm gonna have to see them step up their warranty and service centers though... Also, stop putting your dang fingers round your mouth and on your beard at a trade show after hand shaking and handling all the equipment hahah... it's flu season man..
The biggest problem , with all batteries does not matter, for your car , tools or small equipment . is the cost and time they run ! Some keep saying ,there is nothing we can do , we need to just except this change . No we do not need to except anything . Vote with our wallet ,speak your mind , do not always be a follower! The more one concedes , the more you will loose ! A good idea or technology will always make it on its own merit ! Just look how the cordless power tools took over , with out government ,interference or the sky is falling crowd .
Got an Ego mower, nice but not as good cut quality as my Toro gas. The blowers are great but eat batteries for lunch. Weed whackers are great but spin the opposite direction than every professional/good whacker I ever used.
With heat being the biggest issue with battery degradation especially for businesses in the south, I don’t think leaving all these batteries in a hot trailer is good for them.
They brag about a lot of specs except battery cost and where the batteries are made. Its great to be able to just swep out a battery but not so grest buying all of those extra batteries 😢
Yea the batteries the cost is so high . I bought 17 batteries which just was not enough . Then 5 of them died the first year . When I sent them in they did not honor there warranty . That’s 1375.00 . I never spent that much in a year on gas . Then the batteries will go to the landfill .
Well It’s winter. I can tell you from plowing snow for years that watching a truck or tractor go back-and-forth across the shopping center parking lot is easily memorizable. I can’t count how many times I woke up with my chest slamming into the steering wheel from falling and hitting a parking lot block or a curb.
Some E bike are catching fire like some EV. I think I will wait to see . If the they have the same problem here .That Is a lot of money .if it goes up in flames . I'm positive no insurance company will touch this at this time . Prove me wrong.
It's a good product but the only problem is the dang batteries cost so much. And most of it the batteries don't come with it. The electric stuff is not a bad idea but it's like eating healthy it costs so much to do it
So now people will be stealing batteries at that price 1000 dollars each. Maybe they will have an air tag installed or a memory chip that only you have ? Let's see how this goes. hours working x8 =16 batteries. Total 16000 dollars. For one lawnmower. I'm laughing already.
Saying the mower has the most power without saying any numbers... it's 3.4kw which is the same as Kawasaki fj180V engine. doubt the ego batteries or motors life will come close to Japanese Kawasaki or Honda gxv engines. Have ego improved the batteries so they don't die so quickly and need replacing under warranty?
There is just no-way electric makes any sense for commercial. A soda can of gasoline has more stored energy than 5 of Ego’s biggest (12Ah) batteries. And you can refill gas from a Jerry can. Those 5 Ego batteries need 2 hours on a 15A circuit and will be useless after a year of multiple daily charge and discharge.
Looks like a bunch of extra cost and rigamaroll when I can just gas and go. Those batteries go bad too often and they are super pricey. Just sayin. 🤔 🤷
Ego please get your battery prices down …. $400+ for a battery is getting nuts… lithium ion battery component cost has been dropping and you guys keep inflating prices… you are not the only player now. Considering changing platforms due to unreasonable battery replacement cost.
Are you guys getting excited? Did you hear him say the commercial mower two hours of runtime every landscaper? I know works 8 to 10 hours a day and a height of the summer. Do you know what a logistical nightmare that’s going to be on the amount of money you’re gonna need to invest in batteries, and in some type of charging system in your trailer this is a joke.
My employer purchased an ego snowblower last year and was expecting to laugh at it in wet snow-it was actually very impressive, granted it was a small erea but it threw 8 inches of slop pretty easy.
Thanks man. Much appreciated! It’s good to see what’s coming next year.
Also, I hope they fix that annoying clogging that happens from the chute.
Watching all the TH-camrs better explain things than the stiff reps is the new normal. loving all the EGO equipment I have purchased over the years.
Do they have a trimmer
Thanks a million for these trade show reports. Always good to know what is available and to get a pro's opinion.
Ego is up to some pretty cool stuff! Love to see it!
I love my Ego mower but the battery started going south at a year and a half. It finally failed at the beginning of the second year. I called Ego and they claimed I had never registered it but I had. Nice one Stan. Happy new year 🎉🎉👍👍🏴🏴
Yes more.Really like battery equipment!, Thanks😊.
Excellent video Stanley - you set the mark for every body else.

More battery’s in the landfill in the future, because nobody will have a place to recycle!
"Old man yells at clouds, more at 11"

Have a 2 1/2 year old EGO mower. Battery tanked, 3 year warranty.
Had to be pretty insistent that they replace the battery. They finally did.
List price without batteries is $1299 but with batteries it’s now “just north of $2000. “
Note he said you get two hours run time out of the two batteries at about $400 a pop.

Or just get multiple batteries or 2 sets of the 12 AH then just alternate while the other is charging at a customers job site.
Are people really push mowing 8hrs a day though?
Love my Ego stuff so far
I bought the Ego power head and attachments and have been blown away with the performance. Stan, have you asked how many cycles the batteries will run before degrading?
When is EGO going to lifepo4 better cells?
Make Minnesota Great Again!
I would like to see Ego offer a fully enclosed Golf Cart!
Ego! 30 Inch wide mower. Please.
Love my EGO mower and leaf blower, looks like I’m adding a shop vac and power washer😏
STANLEY IS ALWAYS A BETTER SALESMAN THAN THE ACTUAL WORKERS...HE ALWAYS KNOWS MORE ABOUT THERE OWN PRODUCT THAN THEY DO...SORRY CAPS i dont wanna re type
I agree! 😂😂😂
Cool video
That trailer has probably close to 35k in just batteries.......
Yes and junk after 2 years. Doesn't make sense
There is NO WAY I would pay 1300 for a lawnmower. Plus still have to buy the batteries and the charger.
you haven't bought commercial mowers before then have you
I used to run a crew of 15 people. So, yes I have bought commercial mowers. And not one time did I pay that much for a lawnmower.
Can the charger support Solar as an input?
here to help
Ego please make at least 10 more 24 inch lawnmowers… I need a cast diamond deck please 🙏
I enjoy the new information. We have a 19" Echo electric and it lacks power. Of course I like my 34 hp Toro or my 28 hp John Deere, but they did cost over 20 K each.
Chervon Tool is really getting the high output battery market cornered!
The push mower Im tempted to try on some very tall and thick Texas grass.
I just don’t see the commercial landscaper having all those batteries. They need to incorporate hooks to put shovels, rakes and everything else in between them.
I'll Never get rid of my GAS Equipment!
If the mobile set up could be hooked into a home 30A gen plug that would be cool.
What about the garden tractor? Will it be able to push snow? Or be too weak and plastic , light to do other things ?
Think it would be cool if they would spec out a trailer with whatever you want for set up and get you to dive into the battery world easier . Cool !
All you need is $100k lol
Can't wait until EGO adds a dethatcher and mulcher/wood chipper to their product line.
Yes! Help turn around Minnesota. STAN FOR GOVERNOR!
That 2 hours run time shocked you too LOL
Id love to see ego offer a kei truck sized mini truck with 4x4 & hvac
The price of the service is gonna be way more due to battery cost. The batteries are crazy expensive. And in commercial use they are gonna go through replacement batteries like crazy. I love my ego stuff for my home use.
Did you check out the commercial 20 inch chainsaw?
Now if that pressure washer would heat the water to…
Battery degrading is never a topic. They are only good a year for daily use. Cold makes it much worse, if your holding in a cold area get the space to 50-60 deg. Love the battery tools end up buying alot of batteries over the last 7 or so years.
Everyone is all worried about tailpipe emissions... Zero thought into what that giant battery pack will do when it's tossed into a landfill....
what about the ego mini bike??? whats its top speed and rider weight limit?
Did you watch his previous ego video???
one issue... now u need to have enclosed trailer for a landscape contractor
When you lead your demo with the adjustable handle, I'm kind tuned out to the rest of the pitch
2,000 bucks for a push mower?? My lord.
Hi Stan, you need to consider performance vs cost. What is the life of the battery? What happens to run-time when the batteries get hot or cold? What about safety i.e. fires. How much will the shop vac be?
Really cool but 40Ah capacity won't charge 40Ah, right? There's at least some efficiency losses.
Do they sell a diesel generator to charge all those batteries
I tried battery in my landscape business. Had to quit. Trimmer and edger kept shutting off every 5 seconds in hot weather. Not ready for prime time.

How much are the battery and chargers
How much money for that set up?
Do they make fireproof trailers , so at least you can save part of your business after the fire , at least gas or diesel fires can be extinguished,
With heat being the biggest issue with battery degradation especially for businesses in the south, I don’t think leaving all these batteries in a hot trailer is good for them.
They brag about a lot of specs except battery cost and where the batteries are made. Its great to be able to just swep out a battery but not so grest buying all of those extra batteries 😢

Why the hell would I ever get rid of my two strokes
Yea the batteries the cost is so high . I bought 17 batteries which just was not enough . Then 5 of them died the first year . When I sent them in they did not honor there warranty . That’s 1375.00 . I never spent that much in a year on gas . Then the batteries will go to the landfill .
Why no more landscaping videos?

I'm laughing already.
yup, You seen what jokers will do to cut a 300 dollar catalytic converter out of a car?
Didnt mention the dirtike? Wth Stan lol
I think he covered that in his previous EGO video
Please run.
Ill vote for you in mn stan. Im getting sick of this communist state and king waltz
I’m a hard pass on battery tech, keep my fuel stuff.
30k in batteries and only last 2 years. I will stick with gas
Saying the mower has the most power without saying any numbers... it's 3.4kw which is the same as Kawasaki fj180V engine. doubt the ego batteries or motors life will come close to Japanese Kawasaki or Honda gxv engines. I have 2 blowers; batteries overheat so quickly, very annoying!!! I’m sorry but honestly I rather use gas blowers.

Those batteries are so expensive and have a short life. Ego needs to either lower the price or drastically extend the battery life.
Nobody needs yet another OEM tool range of unknown quality with a fancy battery system.
Has that Asian girl got instagram, asking for a friend 😁
Looks like a bunch of extra cost and rigamaroll when I can just gas and go. Those batteries go bad too often and they are super pricey. Just sayin. 🤔 🤷
Sell out
Ego customer service is terrible .
Ego please get your battery prices down …. $400+ for a battery is getting nuts… lithium ion battery component cost has been dropping and you guys keep inflating prices… you are not the only player now. Considering changing platforms due to unreasonable battery replacement cost.
Very dangerous. No thanks
#FJB and the Eco warriors. I like that EGO gives us a professional electric option. Options are great! Mandates are communism!!!
Storms don’t wipe out my gas overnight
KRESS. BUY KRESS. NOT THIS. KRESS. EIGHT MINUTE CHARGE. NEGATES THE GAJILLION BATTERY PROBLEM.
Are you guys getting excited? Did you hear him say the commercial mower two hours of runtime every landscaper? I know works 8 to 10 hours a day and a height of the summer. That Ego power washer is a POS. The specs suck
