Yes you can do. I will be using them on a table I will make for my pillar drill eventually lol and the space could be an issue there so I decided to go with that solution. But ye longer base and a normal knob would be just fine👍
I was thinking about how you made a third hole in the clamp to "accomodate" the T screw. Why not just utilize the holes you have. I'm sure that if you used 2 front holes to screw the clamp down, then used the two back holes for your T bolt, ( or vice versa), I can't see why they wouldn't hold. You might even wants to CA glue the screws as well to the wood piece and the clamp. Just a thought. It would save the additional drilling of the third hole and give you more space for clamping down the dowel and top screw. I always appreciate your videos and your cander as you teach us and yourself simultaneously. Keep up the great work. I am using my idea to put together a new clamp, so I will let you know how it goes.
Always room for improvement. At that time it felt to be the best way. It gives me a lot of stability and it doesn't lift after clamping. It works for me but it doesn't mean it can't be improved. I do my videos and projects so other people get inspired and make something similar or better 👍
To be honest I made them for something very specific, you will see it soon 😉 But yes, this is just an idea that I hope inspires people to adjust it to their needs, or just simply improve it to their liking 😁👍
But then if you turn it 90 degrees, you would need thicker wood to accomodate the 6 screw holes. I'm doing a clamp right now that uses the dog holes in my pegasus table to clamp down a chop saw...It has to be tall, so I'm playing around with it

@@theriggsworkshop8606 thanks👍
Nice
Maybe mount on a larger dowl and utilize the dog holes you have available
Good idea 👍
Why not just make the wooden block a little bit longer so that you can use a regular knob?

@@CasualDIYdon't we have a curved leg for the cover? 😭

Another Great Video, A simple Idea and well presented to.
Just wondering where did you get your T-Bolts and and T-Track?
Thanks mate, all off eBay. Although the Tbolts actually are from Axminster. I guess they sell on EBay as well.
Good stuff buddy! Do you ever stop inventing? lol
Lol so many ideas so little time 🤣
Would it be helpful if the base could be turned 90 degrees? Increases places where the clamp could be used. Definitely going to try these

What pin pusher - centre punch is it? It appears spring loaded? Amazon link?
It's spring loaded, got it as a gift from a friend and there's no brand name on it unfortunately, sorry
Why not make your own wooden knobs and glue the spacer to the knob? Makes more sense I think. :)
True😅
Would have made the base wider and, then, use a short wing bolt instead.
I would sooner hear the sound of the tools running than listen to music.
Unfortunately I can't remove music from published videos. Although videos from about a year now on my channel don't have any music.
those clamps should still hold if not screwed down
But much more stable this way
So basically.....
