I couldn't stop smiling throughout this whole video, because a while ago I heard you like REALLY like airplanes, and I began to notice all the pictures you posted on your instagram at airports, and now this. Thanks for the lovely airport tour, hahaha And 0:35 that bus totally drove up on the curb.
Hahaha. I didn't even notice the bus! But yeah, I do like airplanes. I'm obsessed with them because they're so powerful and beautiful, and yet at the same time, I always think they're going to explode midair and I'm going to die.
I feel like you must have a lot of pride for Fukuoka! I feel the same about my city's sister city, Ikeda in Osaka. I traveled there a few years back as a student delegate with our council. Watching these videos reminds me of how much I want to get back there and wonder maybe even work for the city or my city promoting them and how amazing sister city relationships can be. Anyway I always love your videos, keep up the fantastic work!
Thanks for sharing this video. I went to Japan in Nov 15 and came to this Airport , was nice to remind myself about it. From a little Squeaky lady living in the UK. 😊✌
great!I will go to the 九州(福岡and 大分) as a graduation trip next month, and actually, I've never been to 福岡airport before. so I think this is a good opportunity to go to there for the first time!! マジ楽しみ
The airfield was there long before Fukuoka. The city grew around it so irrespective of implications it's nothing that was planned. I was stationed at Itazuke in 1960 and videos like this make me feel like my past has been stolen.
I really like to see Japan through your eyes and i want to say that you make incredible videos and you made me love Japan more than I did before finding your channel. Thank you for this priceless video as well as the others.
I was only there for a month. I stayed in Ohashi, so I visited Tenjin or Hakata just about every day and was terrified to even try and figure out the subways until practically the last day. Once I did, I was so mad at myself because I was taking the long way from Tenjin to Hakata and didn't even know it. However, because of my long stay, my bag was very heavy and I ended up just taking a taxi back to the airport. I miss it already, and am actually looking at a couple different universities in Fukuoka where I hope to attend in the near future. I love your videos, I'm amazed every time how you manage to make them so unique to you.
That's some good info so close to the airport and city centre great !!!! Sydney airport to main city is great too 15 min !!!! Never been to that part of Japan yet micaela !!!!
I enjoy your video's about Fukuoka. My son and his Japanese wife have just moved to Fukuoka 6 weeks ago. These video's make me feel less stressed about them moving so far away.
I arrive into Fukuoka in a couple weeks from Seoul. Do I need to catch the bus to Sasebo at the Domestic Airport? Also, where can I get a sim card with data plan I can use for a week? Great video.
I live and work in Saga and Fukuoka airport is my gateway whenever I go home or travel around Japan and other neighboring countries. Your video is really cool and informative. Thanks a lot.
Haha, there are izakaya-style restaurants that serve beer and highballs, yes :) I used to stress out in airports too, and I find YVR (Vancouver) to be the most stressful of them all, because they're suspicious of EVERYBODY, but in Japan, things are relatively painless. I said I couldn't bring my camera inside (because they don't like people recording the security areas), but my starbucks latte is totally fine. (In Canada they made me throw my coffee out right after I bought it, since I was so used to Fukuoka Airport where they let you through with Starbucks. Haha.)
Micaela ミカエラ Yeah, JFK (new york) is pretty nuts ever since 9/11. Not a DROP of water from the outside world! I had to check liquids that I bought IN DUTY FREE (within their security checkpoints) once. Absolutely nutso~
KLM (Dutch airline) plans to fly one of its new Dreamliner 787-9 from Amsterdam to Fukuoka next year :), (Currently is flying a B777-200 to that airport)
I'm glad to see that you are having fun! For a while I was worried that you might have gotten bored of making videos. Keep making these awesome videos of Fukuoka, they are really appreciated!
You're not wrong, there are certain videos that I'm ~bored~ of making, but, even if they're not as popular as the old vlog-style videos, I'm proud of the ones I've made for Fukuoka City. They kind of challenge me to make things more polished, since I'm not making them only for myself. (Since I'm working for Fukuoka City, they preview and fact check the Fukuoka series before I post them online.)
Ah Micaela, your videos are sincerely the best. So informative, so useful, so entertaining, so fun to watch. I've learned A LOT through what you have shared for all this years I've sticked to your channel. Thank you for always sharing fantastic stuff. I love you ^_^
Thank you Micaela!! Really nice video! Refreshes my memories about Fukuoka... and yes, it's true now since you said it I realized the airport is really close to the city!!
I was confused for the first 3 minutes, cos I had never seen any of those shops or restaurants at Fukuoka airport, then I realised you were talking about the domestic terminal, and I've only been to the international one!
Haha... I was just there the other day and ate at that same cafe but got pasta :D I picked the 博多のへそ cookie omiyage last time for Daisuke and omg so good. If you haven't tried it i definitely recommend it. As always a great video.
I think that Japan has a lot to offer to tourists. Many people fear that Japan is very expensive but it is not so expensive. It is of course more expensive than for example Laos but it is comparable to the US, Western Europe and Australia when it comes to costs.
Hello! I'm going to be making a quick stopover at Fukuoka airport (coming from Niigata and going to Seoul) and I was wondering if you could recommend a ramen shop and perhaps something interesting to see near Hakata station? I'm planning to quickly go into the city for a couple of hours since the airport is so close to Hakata Station.
I subscribed to you since like 2 or 3 years ago, but this days I have been stalking your channel a lot (including today) and I got soooooo excited when I saw that you uploaded a new video :D I'm planning on visiting Fukuoka this summer but I'm a bit scared... hopefully your videos will make me feel excited instead :)
I love plane watching too! If the airports I used had seats with a view like that, I feel like I'd end up dreaming away my time and missing my flight xD
Awesome vid! The first time I flew on a plane was on holiday to Canada, it was a plain with a FoxKids decal. I thought it was sooo cool at the time, but I also thought I was going to die for sure. The on-board movie helped, but I still couldn't sleep. xD
Hello, Micaela and konnichiwa! I will be visiting Fukuoka this August and would like to ask which would be a better place to check-in? Hakata or Tenjin? Thanks and arigatou!
What's the difference between Hakata ramen and any other type of ramen? Also what is the Hakata torimon filled with? The airport looks impressive and all but I'm too hungry to worry about anything else but the food right now
Hakata Ramen is different from regular ramen because it uses pork bone to make it's creamy rich broth (as opposed to miso or shoyu based ramen you'll find elsewhere.) Another distinguishing feature in regional raamen are the noodles, and in Hakata Ramen we use thinner noodles, and prefer them to be a little undercooked (harder--more chewy noodles.) Many regions of Japan have their own specialty ramen, but Hakata Ramen is famous all over Japan. :)
maguro katsuo I've been in Japan only once. I went from Shibuya to Narita airport by train, it wasn't so bad, it is a direct train connection in a comfy train. I flew from Amsterdam to Osaka Kansai and I departed from Tokyo Narita.
I'm going to be in Fukuoka during August and I want to buy food omiyage in the airport, do they still have food omiyage in the international terminal or only novelty goods? Is it possible for me to buy gifts in the domestic terminal then go to the international one? Or would you recommend buying omiyage at Hakata Station? Thank you!
Yes! You are doing better this year with Day in a life videos and such! :) I also know that at the end of the day, quality is more important than quantity! Gambatte!
I'm going to Fukuoka in March and I need your help!! It's my first international flight and I have a question, I'm flying from San Diego to Tokyo (Narita) and Tokyo to Fukuoka. When I arrive to Narita what do I have to do? Please help me !!!!!
You don't need to be so nervous! You can always ask when you get there--but usually you will need to pick up your luggage and immigrate in Narita, before switching to domestic and taking a local flight to Fukuoka. As long as you've booked through a travel agency straight through to Fukuoka you'll be fine--Star Alliance and One World Alliance flights are in separate terminals but if your flight from SFO is Star Alliance you'll probably take ANA to Fukuoka, if it's a One World Alliance flight then you'll probably take a JAL flight to Fukuoka. :-) If you don't know about alliances--don't worry. Hahaha. If you get confused just ask around :-)
日本語も英語も出来るミカエラに惚れる。
かっこいい

I love Japan TH-camrs. Japan is so big and yet everyone in the different prefectures still know and connect with each other!;)
Thier are more things to do at that airport than the town that I live in, ha ha. Fukuoka looks awesome, I enjoyed the video thank you Micaela.
Chris Jack Thank you very much!
Wow Fukuoka airport is amazing!
Awesome video as usual. Can't wait for the next one!

Thanks for the video. Fukuoka is my home town, so it is nice to be able to see what I know and familiar with.
Thanks for sharing this video. I went to Japan in Nov 15 and came to this Airport , was nice to remind myself about it. From a little Squeaky lady living in the UK. 😊✌
I love FUK airport too! I always take Eva Airlines to go back to Fukuoka from SFO. SFO-TPE-FUK is my favorite route to travel!!
Great job putting this video together Mikaela , has lots of good information. Cheers.
This is perfect! I'm debating moving to Tokyo or Fukuoka and this was super handy. Thankyu

I love your video, brings me to areas I would love to visit but can not afford to go. Your videography is very good.
The airfield was there long before Fukuoka. The city grew around it so irrespective of implications it's nothing that was planned. I was stationed at Itazuke in 1960 and videos like this make me feel like my past has been stolen.
Man.. do I really want to visit Fukuoka... going to Japan in April for work. If i get the chance, I'm coming! Definitely going someday!

Can't wait to live here and to possibly meet you!!!!
Kyushu univ., Hakozaki campus where I studied was the best place to watch airplanes. It is very close to Fukuoka airport.
I really like to see Japan through your eyes and i want to say that you make incredible videos and you made me love Japan more than I did before finding your channel. Thank you for this priceless video as well as the others.
nimocaが使えるお店がいっぱいあるからお得だしらくらくな福岡空港。

Finally, a new video! It's been a while.
動画みて今日行ってきました👩✈
We went to the domestic airport while waiting for our international flight because of this great video. Thank you, it was a wonderful experience.
Love the time laps you did!
There's nothing geeking about watching planes come and go, with a bit of imagination, I actually think it's a romantic past time.
What a helpful video!
That's some good info so close to the airport and city centre great !!!!
Sydney airport to main city is great too 15 min !!!!
Never been to that part of Japan yet micaela !!!!
Meal with a view is nice, but the observation deck on the roof is even better! Definitely worth checking out if you have time to kill.
this video makes me feel like visiting the airport !
I enjoy your video's about Fukuoka. My son and his Japanese wife have just moved to Fukuoka 6 weeks ago. These video's make me feel less stressed about them moving so far away.
PS if you notice a 6'3" tall red headed western man, that's my boy, sure he sticks out over there...
I really like this video. Easy for my journey. At the airport have many interesting thing.
haha when she was talking about the books store and it showed the store all I could see was manga
I arrive into Fukuoka in a couple weeks from Seoul. Do I need to catch the bus to Sasebo at the Domestic Airport? Also, where can I get a sim card with data plan I can use for a week?
Great video.
Your love of planes is something we have in common, cool! Always fascinating to see how something so big and heavy takes off
you have such a tender voice.
Haha, nice video!
I live and work in Saga and Fukuoka airport is my gateway whenever I go home or travel around Japan and other neighboring countries. Your video is really cool and informative. Thanks a lot.
If only more airports were like this! I have a very negative association between airports and running/stressing/sweating...AH!
....:D is there a bar?
Haha, there are izakaya-style restaurants that serve beer and highballs, yes :)
I used to stress out in airports too, and I find YVR (Vancouver) to be the most stressful of them all, because they're suspicious of EVERYBODY, but in Japan, things are relatively painless. I love airports and planes as well! Thank you for the tour of this airport it looks awesome, I think I'll have to visit :)
I was confused for the first 3 minutes, cos I had never seen any of those shops or restaurants at Fukuoka airport, then I realised you were talking about the domestic terminal, and I've only been to the international one!
Interesting video! I work at Heathrow, and in comparison, there seems to be so much more to do at Fukuoka Airport, and far less chaos!
飛行機見るのが好きなら無線で管制塔の交信を聞いて見るのもお勧めですよ。

Hey Micaela. You've been doing this for awhile now. Do you think the locals look at you and think, "Look at that tourist and her camera." :)
I love your Videos.
Looking great video, you moving on here now
Your description, narration and speech is always professional. Did you go to school for communication or something of the like?
I subscribed to you since like 2 or 3 years ago, but this days I have been stalking your channel a lot (including today) and I got soooooo excited when I saw that you uploaded a new video :D I'm planning on visiting Fukuoka this summer but I'm a bit scared... hopefully your videos will make me feel excited instead :)

Hello, Micaela and konnichiwa! I will be visiting Fukuoka this August and would like to ask which would be a better place to check-in? Hakata or Tenjin? Thanks and arigatou!
Fukuoka is such a nice city! I'm going there in March ^^
I love this airport.
It's one of my favourites in Japan :-)

I have heard that kawaiiku will gone.
I REALLY wish Tokyo had an airport much closer to the city.
Isn't Haneda close enough?
vangrails Haneda is close to the city of Tokyo but 90% of international flights from/to Tokyo use Narita airport so...
maguro katsuo I've been in Japan only once. I went from Shibuya to Narita airport by train, it wasn't so bad, it is a direct train connection in a comfy train. I flew from Amsterdam to Osaka Kansai and I departed from Tokyo Narita.

I want to go to Japan, especially Fukuoka, one of the most beautiful city in tge the world! I love Japan!
doesn't it get to noisy in Fukuoka because of the airplanes flying around? is there a lot of noise pollution? or does the airport close at night?
According to en.wikipedia: "Flights stop at 10 p.m. at the request of local residents and resume operation at 7 a.m."
Where is the omiyage for the intl terminal located? 😯😯😯😯
waw .. heaven on the earth
Loved it! Why you no post more often?! >< You are like Jacksgap of Japan for me! :D
Givemejpy I'm trying tooooo! I'm doing better than last year!
Micaela ミカエラ yea I've seen plenty of videos like these but yours are worth subscribing too!
Yes! You are doing better this year with Day in a life videos and such! :) I also know that at the end of the day, quality is more important than quantity! Gambatte!
Wonder if there are flights to the Philippines.
Yes, there are flights to Manilla.
You skipped the best part of this airport....it is has direct flights to Amsterdam! You can fly directly to Amsterdam from Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka.
:( I wanna live there....not just Japan I mean Fukuoka!!!!!! Fukuoka for life :)
I'm going to Fukuoka in March and I need your help!! It's my first international flight and I have a question, I'm flying from San Diego to Tokyo (Narita) and Tokyo to Fukuoka. When I arrive to Narita what do I have to do? Please help me !!!!!
