Took Porter in April Toronto/Vancouver return was very impressed will fly again soon
I am 74 and really could care less about all technical offerings such as WI-FI and all rest. I just want to get from point A to B as hassle free, and as comfortable as I can. Also food and the like are not important to me, friendliness of the crew is important. I am happy you liked the airplane as I am Brazilian and feel somewhat good that Brazil is producing a manufactured product that seems to be liked by many people. I hope and wish Porter good luck with this Embraer aircraft with many safe years of service, best regards from Chicago.

Thanks for the video.. my first time with Porter this Friday, will be to TO and on to Vancouver.. I love supporting the competition. And I remember Canadian Airlines as a kid, what a great friendly crew I felt like a vip 12 yo. I believe great helpful employees, snacks and a selection of beverages, not to mention included wi-fi, is what any good airline should offer.

I’ve been looking at Porter for a Tampa flight. Not their cheapest fare option or the top premium but the second from the most expensive. It’s comparable to A/C’s Comfort fare. Both are refundable and give you a little extra leg room. Westjet is lower priced but does not have a refundable fare option at all. The 2 seat idea is great! I hate 3, never have had the aisle but it’s a p.i.a going to the washroom from the window or centre seat especially if one of us in these 2 seats happens to be having one of those days where you’re constantly running to the bathroom! I’m going to book with Porter and hope your report holds true. Cheers🍻👍

Hi for food can i pay by cash or it’s only card which one ??
I liked swoop but that is over. I mainly used them due to going to hamilton instead of toronto. Flair has been mostly good but by the sounds of it I just got lucky. I can fly to Waterloo on flair but cause it's a short runway there is a possibility it will divert to Toronto. As much as I hate Pearson that is pretty much my only option from Winnipeg so I might as well try porter next time.
I can't stand West jet and Air Canada is so so but I just flew Porter from Van to Halifax red eye and it was alright. Nothing special! The two seat configuration is all right but I can get that in business class with more room with West jet and Air Canada. They never had meals on the night flight, and I could only buy a 12 dollar ham and brie sandwich which was good but way to small and way overpriced. It was like two bites and done! The beer they have on board is crappy microbrew, so I opted out and I just never got that friendly feeling from the staff from both legs being from Van to TO and TO to Halifax. At this point I can honestly say that these guys are more hype than not. Would I fly them again? Maybe, but what other choices does one have in Canada. Not many! LOL
Lol sounds like you hate all airlines! If you’re flying business class on A/C I bet you would pay a lot more $’s than Porters fare. Now mind you I haven’t flown porter yet, I have looked at their flights out of Toronto Island airport in the past but they have not had flights going where I want to go when I wanted to go. A/C I have flown several times and am booked on it for a future flight but I really don’t care for them. I will try Porter next time as I like the idea of 2 seats, a new aircraft and the little perks they offer.

On their website it says no carryon but 1 personal item. So does this mean a carryon size luggage will not fit in there? I saw a lady rolling one down
Carry on is not allowed in the lowest fare class. The "Classic" fare is for the service that is standard on Air Canada, allowing one carry-on and on personal item. Porter also charges for changing the seat assigned at the on-line check in. Air Canada and others currently don't charge. So Porter is bad for having an advertised fare that is low for a reason - bait and switch.
Porter is very decent.

Booked my first flight with Porter, coming up soon, Toronto to Halifax, and am already regretting it. Booked through Air Miles and was only told that checked bags would have a fee. Fine. That's what all airlines do now. However on checking with their customer service, found that I have to pay an extra $50 just for the privilege of bringing on the usual carry-on suitcase that goes in the overhead bin. So nickel-and-diming Porter is charging people a higher fee to take a carry on than their $47 charge to check a bag. There was no information on this on the air miles booking page for my flight. But I was assured by customer service once I pay the $50 I get an extra special bonus: I receive my boarding pass ONLINE so I don't have to get in line at the counter and get my boarding pass in person. Seriously? IN 2023, you have to line up at the counter to get your boarding pass? Not impressed with Porter so far. At all.
There are several fare classes. You probably selected the basic fare used to compete with Flair, Lynx & Swoop.

I believe this video is more about the NEW Embraer Airplane and associated offerings than Porter general customer services and charges, calm down, re set your circuit breakers and good luck going forward, it's a rough world out there!

why? porter offers so much worse of a product with these joke of a plane they're flying 3+ hrs when they're just glorified regional jets with no IFE, no carry on bags, no FF program, tiny overhead bins.
If you like a window seat, don't choose seat 28… you will be starting at a blank wall

Porter changed their policy for support animals. My elder support worker, at my request booked my flight to toronto for specialist care. I found out too late of the change of policy, would have had to chop my dog in half to be allowed on the flight and they had no provision to fly him in cargo because they save that space for able bodied peoples' luggage. I would have had only carry on as a return the next day reservation. I was not able to get a refund. Nine days on the road.
The plane is all good and fine but their service is like something I’ve never experienced.. the cancelled my return flight home from Toronto to Washington D.C. then rescheduled me for 6 days later…. In another country… with little to no compensation… 16 hours later and 4 of them dealing with their call center because that’s what they will direct you to do.. even at the airport… their solution was to call the call center… after enough arguing about being rescheduled for 6 days later and threatening every bit of compensation that will have to pay.. they got me on the flight they previously said was full for later that day.. very sketchy customer service.. it’s always someone else’s department and they can’t do anything to help… worst experience I’ve ever had with an airline ever..
too bad the plane with no inflight entertainment, tiny overhead bins and porter charges for even a carry on (probably because of the tiny overhead bins) and insane pricing on par with AC and WS. Porter couldnt afford/wait for the A220 so got these clearance planes nobody else wants for a cheap price
E2s are praised everywhere
If you had flown on a A220, then the E195, you would never fly on this aircraft again, it is a regional jet , nothing more, long haul is not a good choice on this aircraft, I want seat comfort first and foremost!
