Here I am all these years thinking I was plain old plain old. Looks like am something weird as a 3 dollar bill. Just going by your expert analysis and I've been around a long time. Things change people. What people do and say change people. Sometimes your personality disappears, never to return. That's what people can do to others. Do they care what they have done to a healthy person? NO!
That's because they're not aware. They are awake, conscious, vitals in order. But they don't actually understand their impact. They have no self awareness. I honestly feel sorry for my abuser. At least I can pinpoint my trauma, and with this personality type expand and grow. I live a very peaceful life. Them on the other hand suffer and struggle every single day. And it something they can never fix or escape. Themselves
I spent two years in a psych ward when I was around 20ish years old, I was diagnosed with a very pronounced anxiety, slight depression (I had mostly low self esteem but nothing serious enough to be considered depression in my humble mind). I think I might be schizoid, my mother was schizophrenic, I do not have any delusions but had slight psychosis moments when I felt stressed out; and at the same time there was at that hospital an older woman who was the very definition of a schizoid, did not interact at all with others at first I thought she was deaf/mute then autistic. Always with the same face, did not see a single smile or signs of anger in her face, it's interesting to dive deeper on mental health and what things have been studied and learn
I, despite being an introvert, tend to take risky actions like promiscuity, dangerous driving, relationships with people from the criminal world. Maybe I'm wrong, but I explain it by the fact that I score very low on the scale of conscientiousness, agreeableness and neuroticism
Risky behaviour can come from emptiness to feel alive or a massive misjudgement in the size of problems . Jumping out the window is crazy , but if the house is on fire it’s not crazy . But if you smell smoke from the toaster and jump you’ve just done a poor risk assessment. This usually results from shame and catastrophizing . If being a failure feels like ego death for example you’ll do reckless shit . If you Shame anything other than being perfect you’ll be more likely to gamble .
my neighbor is constantly raging at his family and as of last week, me. after he judged me for looking haggard, i reminded him that i have cancer and he yelled, 'good! i hope you die- you deserve it' afterwards, his adoptive mother says he is schizo and bi polar. he is an ex con. i know he stole my camera from my car (i left it unlocked) and now i am afraid of him. should i file a police report to let him know he's being watched? or will that only make things worse? btw, his mom is incredibly enabling so i dont expect any apologies, but i'm just tired of him terrorizing the neighborhood and i resent him attacking me...he did the same thing to his father, who after a night of screaming that one could hear through the walls, had a heart attack and died the next morning. i feel a target of the misdirection you mention, as it was the father's bday not 2 days previous...thoughts? ty.
Sounds like a very unhinged dangerous person. You could notify the police but that doesn’t always stop these crazy neighbors and could make it worse. Make sure to keep your car and house locked at all times and I would avoid that neighbor like the plague. I’m sorry to hear you are battling cancer and I hope you get well but please be careful around crazy neighbors.

Hi Sam! is it emotional/parental neglect if my mother refuses to make dinner multiple times a week? (the longest she didn't make dinner was 5 days) Kind regards!
Yikes! Why would one go to a bar? Granted, I don't drink, but if I did, I'm sure I'd rather get some alcohol from the store and drink alone rather than go to a bar (sort of like I like eating alone rather than going to a restaurant).
I am still married to this one, (48 years). Found out by an accident he got his diagnosis ( Schizoid PD) just last week. His psychiatrist is not picking up the narcissistic traits of his relatively new patient. I have been educating myself on the narcissism since 2021. Only now, summer 2024, I am able to see the whole picture, if you will. Our adult son has been diagnosed with schizoeffective brain disorder in 2005. I was slow in connecting the dots… I am now permanently cured from any compulsion to “heal” my husband, father of my two children. The realization about the magnitude of the mental illness, so strongly rooted in genetics, completely liberated me from making any attempt to control the impossible. I am utterly devastated and released from responsibility to “managed” the mental health problems of the most important people in my life. I am exhausted physically and emotionally. The co-existence of the vulnerable (also cerebral) narcissism snd schizoid pd in the partner will slowly and steadily destroy your health. Learn and run if you can. Thank you, Sam Vaknin.
