Have had this plant growing for over 20 years in Noosa Qld Australia. Growing under southern eave. Gets some western sun but protected by camellias. Have tried propagation a number of times and have finally been successful with a hardwood cutting in sand , kept moist and in the shade.lovely plant. Expensive in Australia $50 for small plant.

Thanks for this video, I recently got my second Medinilla (the first one died, I moved it too much), and I'm feeling more confident growing it. If anyone in Australia is looking for this Medinilla, Australian Plants online in Woombye QLD sell them.

Very pretty Our Philippine pride 🏡❤️👍💚
Yo
But they call it Malaysian orchid which is unthinkable.
Anything is ok
I grow a Medinilla in Bangkok, but not sure if it is myriantha. Maybe not. It grows as a small tree (now less than 1 m) and flowers appear not only from the growing points on top together with new leaves, but also at the lower (leafless) junctions as well. Quite unusual. It is very pest prone here, mostly caterpillars it seems. In Bangkok we can also find many hybrids of Mediniallas.
Yes they do come in many varieties
🙏☺️
😇

Hi, I just got this plant and like you said when you first got it, I moved it too much and the plant went into shock and the flower buds all fell off without blooming. So sad. Can you tell me what I should do with the bare stem? Do I cut it off while it's still green or wait till it turns brown? Many thanks.
If ur talking about the flower spike yes u can cut it off
