      Really? I have an easier time hunting them with airguns instead of using shotguns and a dog. Just in how u move and how good ur eyes r. Not easy for most ppl to spot a hare or rabbit standing still in high grass and being able to keep walking while aiming and shooting so u don't scare them.

    A friend and I were camping when we were teens and decided to try to get a rabbit to cook over the fire with my air rifle. It was dark and right after we left the campsite I spooked a rabbit. As I lifted the gun it accidentally fired and hit the rabbit right in the head. My friend thought I was an incredible shot. LOL! It`s illegal to hunt rabbits at night but it`s a tradition here in the southern USA. Rabbit populations would explode some years and I hunted them at night with a 22 cal Benjamin air rifle because they were garden pests. They`re delicious roasted over an oak fire.

    • @JBplumbing12
      @JBplumbing12 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a similar story. A friend and his 14 year old son came to visit and we walked over the paddocks to see if we might shoot a rabbit with a 22. My friend's son had never shot a gun before. He said he could see a rabbit on a hillside some 200 yards away. His father and I could not see any rabbit, and besides it was too far away. I gave him the rifle which had open iron sights. He fired and told us he hit it. We walked over there and sure enough he had shot a rabbit. I think it was the equivalent of witnessing a hole in one in golf.

      Hello again mate! Thanks for the encouragement, it is nice to get it. My h.boomerangs are about 2cm (4/5ths of an inch) thick. I do this because they don't snap when I hit a post or tree. These little ones weigh about 175 grams and are accurate to throw to about 45 metres which is fine for small game. I have made them out of Stricklands Gum (a eucalyptus tree) native to the state of Western Australia. This wood is very hard but still quite springy, so is very durable. It is slow to work with but does give a very good result.

    Do the hares have white meat or red meat

    • @wozzasboomerang
      @wozzasboomerang  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Good question. I usually cook it up for the dogs and it seems to be darker than rabbit meat (which is white meat), but it is lighter than beef I think. So, it might come in as red meat.

    Pro-tip, the key to hunting on the dry leafy ground is to drink lots of water the night before and hold it for when you get on the field. You then hook up a hose to your wiener then to a Y split hose to spray nozzles to the front of your shoes. You then proceed to relieve yourself as you walk controlling your stream just enough to wet the leaves so they don't crunch as you stalk the prey animals. A full bladder should get you up to 500 yards of quiet stalking if you're good at regulating your urine flow. You're welcome.

Had put that in Aussie govt, hoping for a share. In the import export market and as my visa application 😅And rabbits could be lured into moulded burrows as farm animals and could be Wi-Fi enabled, was hoping for an award for the design and concept furthermore lake eyre could be a permeant at lake by using simple BUND technology and so too for norther/ western Aussie outbacks. And hopeful an award for the war on rabbits😊
