Funny enough, the Airsoft market is full of connections to the Russian "black market". Very easy to source a full Ratnik set from certain vendors. Real articles with paperwork and all. Private groups are full of current and old gen Russian Night Vision, Thermals, lasers, and such. Also very easy to get the modern Jupiter optics.

How are the prices for the night vision devices?

@@johan.ohgren The prices are fair. When they do come up for sale they mostly come with the original box/bag and the accessories. Soviet to modern can be found.
Last I saw, were a few PNV-10t sets for 700 to 800 USD. New to lightly used units, complete sets.

My grandma would swear she heard gunshots from nearby USSR base in Czechoslovakia when Warsaw pact Armies invaded Czechoslovakia in 1968. She said that they were most likeky executed because they sold their weapons for some stupid things like vodka, food and smokes.

45:10 Actually, there is even more corruption in Chechnya. The tribal structure of society only worsens the situation. Despite the formal subordination of the National Guard, the Chechen units are de facto subordinate to Kadyrov personally, and therefore he pays them more and equips them better. In Ukraine, they fight very little, but they talk a lot about how "cool" they are and promote themselves.

Its not just you guys in america that change the clocks, we do it in the UK too. We did it because the kaiser did it in ww1 and we didnt want them to have the advantage they thought they'd get in productivity for it.

On March 15, the US Senate passed, by unanimous consent (almost unheard of in the USA), the "Sunshine Protection Act of 2021" (yes, that is the actual name of the bill). Twenty states have also passed laws resetting Standard time to DST. Currently in the USA, Arizona does not switch to DST, because the majority of the population lives in areas (like Phoenix and Tucson) that are so hot during the summer that people wait until after dark to to outside (if they do so even then).

So i think you were right on a alot of points, like i do think it's likely someone scammed the poor Russian conscripts out of their optics and sold them or some corruption somewhere is the reason there weren't that many seen, but i gotta point out that obviously you aren't that familiar with optics/gear in general, which is fine man, like can't be an expert on everything, but the examples you showed of optics being sold online from Russia were all old as shit lol, like Soviet Union old, basically you didn't find a single modern Russian military optic when you brought up examples, some could be used by Russia but they're also used by other countries too, so you can't say they're def gear being sold from this conflict, in fact most of that stuff like the PSOs and such aren't even very high quality optics either. Also the guy at 40min def is either a western non-military forces member or a Ukrainian guy who was geared by western non-military because that's def an AR-15, not an m4/m16 platform rifle.

You do not get the point of Soviet doctrine, which we are seeing here. Soviet doctrine says that conscripts older equipment and vehicles will be sacrificed to deplete NATO stockpiles of advanced weaponry, then if they survive and mother Russia is safe from retaliation, they will commit to exploiting weaknesses. Putin will not react to Ukraine until he knows that his forces are safe from advanced weaponry and retaliation

There are lots of pics and vids with Russian tanks having ERA panels without the explosive filler those are supposed to have. Do you think that is another sign of the corruption in Russian army?

    • @samargrewal929

ya i have see t72B's without ERA also. Also where a lot of old equipment used like t72Bs and bmp 1 in the Russian army . also there's a big mix of equipment being used in the Russian forces example t72B's from the 80s but then stuff like t80UD where only two or tree where built . i think this shows that corruption is still a big issue from the Russian army as most of founding is given the billionaires of Russia rather then the army like it was supposed go to

“Kantai kessen” is the Japanese phrase for “decisive battle,” best known for its application during WW2 naval warfare. The Decisive Battle Doctrine evolved from the first major naval war for post-Meiji Japan, where the (much smaller) Japanese fleet beat both the Russian Pacific Fleet and Black Sea Fleet (these were defeats in detail, if Russia has been able to combine fleets or otherwise engage simultaneously it would have gone the other way). This taught Japanese naval doctrine that a single battle can end a war, and at low cost, if done at the right time and place.
So the doctrine boils down to: only engage in minor skirmishing, only risking assets you can readily afford to lose, until you throw everything in all at once and crush your opponent so they can’t continue the fight. This famously didn’t work in Pearl Harbor, but the basic premise is generally sound, as it generally follows from Sun Tzu’s advice.

    • @TheGallantDrake

The TH-cam channel Drachinifel has a very good video discussing the origins, rationale and application of Kantai Kessen. I think you’d find it interesting, especially how it could be argued that they misapplied the doctrine
