Crowd sourced mapping (like Waze) is sadly missing 😢. They have been promising this for a while now and it is quite ridiculous that I can't see police on the map in such an advanced car.
The adjust passenger seat is something I use all the time to give easy entry for my Dog, Bower the Wonder Lab, I have been using S3XY buttons but to have this natively on the Tesla screen would be really great!
I have used XM for 20 years. Yes when it was only XM. So I listen to it mostly. Been using Bluetooth running on my phone to play in my M3 and CT. So I am extremely happy with this (No Shoes Radio!). As for the sound quality I wear 2 hearing aids so any sound I am happy with.
SiriusXM is huge for us Howard Stern fans. Now ill want to drive even more. Amazing update for me, the sentry footage to phone, light show from app, rear cross traffic, aople watch, all awesome!
Jordan, I owe you a beer. Thanks to you I won $50 at the office. We had a bet on how many times you would say “notably.” The over under was 3 and you said it 5 times. I won. Thank you sir!
Glad there are at least a few useful things in this holiday update. I like the weather, SOC on arrival, and the traffic updates. The notification about which chargers are out of service will be handy also. The cross traffic thing was an embarrassing omission. The dynamic re-route thing looks interesing, and search in route sounds useful. The devil is in the details. Look forward to the testing of these new features.
Agree about SiriusXM audio quality. Hopefully the internet based version will have a higher bitrate than the satellite version. That being said, I have both Spotify and Apple Music. The human curated playlists on SiriusXM is still superior. Also, some of the talk / news channels (including Howard Stern) will be nice to have directly in the vehicle.
Very nice! Now i would like to add "precondition battery now" button for times when you need to charge at a non tesla supercharger, and want to precondition the battery.
@@gregstowell4732 That’s what I am to understand, it warms it up. I don’t live in a cold climate, so not sure what benefits there would be if any other than when on the way to a charger. Maybe someone here can chime in…
Wish list - FSD is driving very slow after the last couple of updates. Can be on a straight road w/no traffic and perfect weather, and FSD is driving under set speed and even under speed limit. Very frustrating- especially here in Texas where a 3 hour drive is normal. If it is set at 75, then drive 75 (obviously safely). Not 68 or 72. Please fix Tesla! My $.02 and wish list.
I am excited for Sirius XM for sports talk (mad dog radio) and live sports games. Have it on my other cars. Also I like Howard, Phish radio, Grateful Dead radio , DMB radio. Jam band radio. Tons of good live stuff. Good Stuff!
XM with no hardware iworth it. The great part of XM is never losing signal no matter where you are, except in a tunnel. You can currently stream the XM app through Bluetooth, but if you don't have cell service you are out of luck.
Digital Key is already available as of now on Polestar 3 for Apple Watches. Regarding your question about Android, that will come at least 30 days later, as Apple has some weird contractual requirement via the Connected Car Consortium to have a 30 day lead on other brands (Google, Samsung, etc.). The weather radar on the native navigation is nice. I had that on our Volvo V90 Cross Country, but it was a add-on paid as part of SiriusXM's "Travel Link". Sadly that didn't carry over to the AAOS cars or to Polestar. :(
My Model Y has the hi-end sound system and generally sounds great , but the radio stations and the feed from the included fee service radio (can't remember the name right now) do not sound as good as the streaming from the songs on my phone. Also , I wish they had included presets on the equalizer. Presets get you in the ball park for the type of listening you want and with that many sliders that have too much effect , it's a daunting task to dial in.
This is wonderful for Apple users but what about all of the millions of Android / Samsung users. They need to get on board and make this accessible to Android devices also like in a hurry! Super unhappy about this
If you're referring to the watch capability, it's probably just too fragmented of an ecosystem for them to make an app that may or may not work reliably on the many variants of Android watches that are out there. There's only so many variants of the Apple Watch out there, and it's easier to make something for known-hardware than an open source OS that could be installed on practically anything.
I wish they would add an option to switch to comfort mode when a passenger is present. I’m sport mode until I’ve got passengers, usually. Also haptic seats would be cool for hearing impaired but that’s hardware.
Great video as always. Don’t care much for santa and screen colouring of your car gimmicks. But good for all the rest. Apple Watch key is a big one for me.
What an exciting update! Still stuff that should’ve been here years ago, but nearest makes no difference. Really looking forward to your guys’s coverage of this update. Can’t wait to see what I don’t get on my Atom model 3 😂
It would be nice if the "out of service stall on touch screen" wasn't just "stall 1A" written somewhere, but was actually when you back into a stall, the parking space itself turns red with a circle with line through it... so you can easily know before you even get out.
I don’t think the arrival percentage is limited to increments of 5. Increments of 5 are listed but the slider should let you set a number in between. That is the same design as their set charge slider. It only has increments of 10 but you can set a charge limit in between. It does look like 5 is the minimum charge though.
About the Sirius/XM I find it of no value. It was good about 12 years ago when I was doing lots of traveling. Then they started allowing ADs on the stations and I was done. I wasn’t going to pay premium access and also have Ads. Now I use Apple Music with no ADs and can make specific playlist for moods, or whatever.
Wife and daughter will now ride in my Y now that it will have Sirius XM. Now if it just had a smoother ride. 2022 Y delivered in Nov. 2021. Love the Apple Watch feature. What tires give the old Y's (before the suspension update) the best ride? Have 19" Continental.
Update to the 2023 MYP front and rear dampers. Parts are about $650-800 from the service center I believe, last time I checked. Tires won't provide a meaningful difference in ride quality. The 19" Continentals are your best bet for ride quality already. It's been proven that the dampers are the problem, they're extremely stiff on 2020-2022 variants. My '22 is awful, my friend has a '23 and my dad has a LR '24 that ride noticeably softer than my car. Comfort suspension parts: FL Shock/Spring Combo: 1188371-00-F FR: 1188376-00-F Rear Dampers: 1188465-00-F
I use it almost exclusively, I have 3 teens and it just works out to being a better deal as an Apple one bundle family plan with Apple Music, iCloud storage, arcade, and tv+ spread amongst 5 people.
Satellite radios work without a cellphone connection. That can be a huge plus or meaningless depending on how you use your vehicle and maybe also where you live.
Love the passenger seat adjustment via screen! And your idea about saving passenger seat settings would be great, too. The charging/driving changes look useful - hope they are! Thanks for running through this, Jordan!
I quit Twitter/X I have to say... I'm much happier. I don't have to read any more of the crap and disinformation that comes out on that platform. Makes me sad though. Makes me sad.
Yay I get to hang with Jordan
Why did you leave 😢 Miss your voice. Good luck with your next journey
Ayo Francie what’s good?
Why aren't you on the channel anymore?
Crowd sourced mapping (like Waze) is sadly missing 😢. They have been promising this for a while now and it is quite ridiculous that I can't see police on the map in such an advanced car.
You know what would be helpful? If the trunk would open to two different heights, Low inside the garage, and higher when not in the garage.
Auto wiper fix and ability to open garage door without paying extra would be great practicle additions
The adjust passenger seat is something I use all the time to give easy entry for my Dog, Bower the Wonder Lab, I have been using S3XY buttons but to have this natively on the Tesla screen would be really great!
As long as it is not stupid buried in settings.
How’s Francie?
I hope she is well.
I was hoping they would add lane changes on autopilot. Not automatic but user initiated would be very beneficial.
That's already there. Just hit the signal and it will move to the next lane on autopilot. I use it lots on weird lane ending roads
@@thefiatponzi that's only for FSD or EAP, not the basic (free) autopilot, unfortunately....

For sure! Howard is the only reason I have Sirius. Hope the implementation is good enough to pass back and forth from position on my phone.

Thank goodness it wasn’t a drinking game.
What kind of office do you work at that everyone watches oos lol
Weird bet
Can’t wait for the Apple watch app. Do you know if it’s going to need phone capabilities on the watch or is Bluetooth good enough?

I use a Siri shortcut, so just say “Siri, precondition my car” and it starts.

i wonder if UWB support on the apple watch will be there, meaning you could open the frunk and trunk automatically ?
We have had SXM for years and hooray coming to our Model Ys now.

The rearview screen drops out when using your signal (which brings up the blind spot camera view) I wonder if they fixed this as well?
In my road trip last week, the touchscreen did call out out of order stalls already. Is the holiday update referring to something else?
I wish they would add an option to switch to comfort mode when a passenger is present. I’m sport mode until I’ve got passengers, usually. Also haptic seats would be cool for hearing impaired but that’s hardware.

Let us set the estimated energy usage. Ie bike rack, trailer or roof pod.
Great job

I do wonder how many of these are only available on premium connectivity. I assume the weather one would, but they didn’t say.
I have Sirius XM in my other car. I like it and will try it out on my model Y
love the Sirrus XM DJ stations, i.e. Little Steven, Outlaw Country, Backstreets.

21:51 yes, cool idea!
Pandora users still left here using Bluetooth. 😢
Hi Jordan, check phone key usage of the Apple watch battery, I find my Android phone suffers battery life with the Tesla App running.
Hey - Fort Collins Kia clearly told us that they are not delivering anywhere in the US. Maybe you want to change your sponsor msg
"Delivery covers up to $1000" - that's what their current rule is, it doesn't exclude anywhere specifically.
OK WHERE DID THE OLD HOST DISAPPEAR TOO????? WHY HAS NO ONE TOLD US WHY SHE IS GONE???
When is Tesla coming out with their own phone, to bury the high priced iPhone?
probably never
DEFINITELY never…
A Tesla phone doesn't advance their company mission to transition the world to sustainable energy
I think it's Tesla with an S, not a Z.
I pronounce with an S but Elon says Tezla so there is a good chance the Z is more correct.
The man’s name was Nikola Tesla, not Tezla.
Tesla might catch up with the MyChevy app with this update!!!! /s
And so it shouldn’t come to Android. Plebs.
Love the passenger seat adjustment via screen! And your idea about saving passenger seat settings would be great, too.
The charging/driving changes look useful - hope they are!
Thanks for running through this, Jordan!
snore
Us Mini owners have had all these functions from the Mini Connected app on Apple Watch for a year now - Tesla is soooooooo behind the times (again)

Why did you have to announce your departure?
