This was a great review. I like that you were fair in assessing the differences and acknowledging that both types have their advantages and disadvantages. I like that you concluded you like both.
glad you liked the cruiser ride ,way different than sport bikes ,but anything that gets you in the wind is awesome with me,have to say I hadf a blast riding with ya ,rode for 35 yrs ,had a stroke & its been 7 yrs since i have been in the wind,so i have a bunch of vids like this I watch everday ,make more of them please
Night Rider I like LOOKING at all bikes...but I'm sticking with supersport/sport/sport touring. Ijs. Your legs look like they're in a really awkward position. Cruisers = look like they not fast.
Master Squider Oh yeah i like sportbikes better thats why im getting a second bike instead of selling mine! And yeah the cruiser im riding is too small for me!
Night Rider Cruisers are for girls and police...LOL!!! Look into sport touring. The seating position is essentially the same as with cruisers...except the foot placement is like traditional supersport/sport. I myself have a Yamaha FZ6R (better than the puke green ninja 650).
Master Squider Well dress me up and call me Sally!! Ha ha. I dont like most sport tourers as far as looks but ill keep an open mind! I can be swayed if i see something good
I had or rode most of the best sportbikes in the 80's, then rode a friends 87 Suzuki Savage for about a week...this was in '89. The difference between the two are obvious. But what i still remember is what the torque delivery was. I was impressed. But yeah, going from a sport to cruiser is a big change. Glad you had fun. And yes, the 'Busa' is next on my list.
I ride a new R1 and I recently test drove a Harley Road King. It felt out of my control, poor braking and handling made me think I was at everyone's mercy. I just don't have straight wide open roads with zero traffic out here or I would reconsider.
Cruisers are just more badass, I cant help it. If I see a sportbike I don't even bother looking, but when I hear a cruiser, I just stare until its out of sight
Glad you had a chance to experience the cruiser way of riding. The limited view the Go-pro showed made you look good on it also. Hope you get one soon so you can do long trips that you want. Safe riding bro...
Yeah sorry i have since been pointing it down more so you guys can see more of the bike in the shot! Ill be riding an Ultra Classic soon too just waiting on my buddy
comparing cruisers to sportys is like comparing a Cadillac to a Corvette. I'm more of a cruiser guy, but I dig on some of those GPs too. they're different beasts. I always dig seeing true motorcycle enthusiasts such as yourself.
You gotta hit second gear like you mean it. My yamaha 1100 vstar goes into neutral if you half ass a second gear shift. It's quite annoying when turning into traffic.
The Rider In Front Knows How To Ride! Look where He Rides, Just Right Of The Center Line! Good Job, The Kind Of Rider I Would Be Proud To Ride With... Thanks For Another Great Video P.S. my last bike was a cruiser (03 Triumph Speedmaster) that i lost to an accident. Then i bought my 92 Kawasaki ZX11 because i always wanted a sportbike. My intent is to keep the Ninja as my second bike and get a cruiser as my primary... i will say this, and i'm sure as a Busa owner you understand quite well; it's nice to look around and know you could burn everyone around you down with just a little twist of the throttle. i'm still just getting used to the bike, and its the first bike to ever really scare me. have fun with the cruisers. never give up that beast tho
Nice video my busa spoiled me for any other bike. I had a VTX 1800 between busas. For me I will always have a busa. You did a good job being open minded about cruisers.
its all about the ride. just enjoy and ride safe. just changed from a triumph america back to a 1976 suzuki gt 380 2 stroke. just loving that sound and smell again!!
Great video! Funny too. I rode a Intruder 1800R. almost drop it while making a tight turn in the parking lot. Had to put my foot down. Heavy as hell and low weight point. But still lots of fun.
NR -- I had to laugh when you kept missing shifts to 2nd! I went from a 49cc Vespa twist-n-go to a 2053cc Kawasaki VN2000A, and trust me, the learning curve was STEEP! Turning radius, heel/toe shifter, weight, power, all that. And I never wanted a cruiser until this one fell into my lap, so to speak. Now, I live for my V-Twin...the sound, the power, the torque. And yup, she will jerk a knot in your head if you romp on the throttle! No, she's not a sport bike. Ain't meant to be. And that's great. After watching you, I think I'll sneak out for a quick ride!
Good on ya mate...I've never ridden a cruiser in all of my biking years and can't imagine wanting one on the near future but have plenty of buds who do ride them and a good mate of mine Suffolk Andy on TH-cam has a zzr1200 and a 1200 sportster....loves em both and vlogs on both ...Gotta say his Harley is one very loud Oll thumper and one of which I'm looking forward to trying out... enjoyed that buddy!
When you do decide to buy a cruiser what are you thinking about getting? I'm looking at the Suzuki M109 for next year. How did you feel about the leans going from Sport bike to cruiser?
Enjoyed the vid. I’m guessing you’re on either a 650 or 950 based on the shifting - there’s no 800 V-Star that I know of. I’d recommend the 1300 for you - I think you would appreciate the extra oomph. And as you found out, a v-twin is low end torque and you don’t wind em out like a parallel twin.
I used to have a 1982 VT800C Honda and I rode that as a daily ride for years. I"m sure this is a very similar ride. The Honda was reliable, light 300lbs and peppy. I got 2 Harleys now. 73XLCH and 2001 FLSTF...
That's really weird. There was no 800cc Shadow in 1982. The Honda Shadow didn't come out until 83 and only came in 500 & 750cc's. The 1100 came out in 85, and the 800 didn't exist until 88. Also The factory "wet" weight of my 84 700 Shadow is 512lbs so unless you used to have a 250cc Honda Rebel at 306lbs you're either very confused or talk about things you don't have.
Used to ride sport bikes, never owned a cruiser until 2013. I purchased a 2005 Suzuki C50 Boulevard, much like the one ridden here. It only had 8,100 miles on it. Made some improvements - it's been a good ride so far. Have to park it outdoors, unfortunately. Good video. ~ S ~
Many older guys can't ride sport bikes anymore due to back problems, arthritis and what not. I was uncomfortable on long rides even in my 20s. Try putting 200 miles on your sport bike. And lets face it, sport bikes don't get the girls hot in the pants like a cruiser.
Eric Weiss hey bud, you should look into a Suzuki 1000F. It's a sportbike but it has more relaxed geometry in the riding position. And higher bars so your not leaned over so far. but still in a sporty stance. Or even the bmw 1000xr. it seems the companies are trending to produce more comfy sport bikes now.
+Night Rider nah, trust me. if you have videos with plenty of comedy, a little bit of educational tips or facts about the bike or just riding in general, and some bloopers or other funny stuff you come across, you will make it pretty big.
Interesting that you keep missing 2nd gear. I've had the same bike for four years and still have the same problem. I'll pull away in 1st, press my heel down to change up and often find myself in neutral, I have to press down again to engage 2nd. I had been wondering whether mine had a fault but maybe it's just that you have to press down really firmly to get it to engage. I never have any problem changing down from 3rd to 2nd.
Cool vid brother. Been thinking about a cruiser for two up riding, It's older true enough but my ZX 11 is still all the sport bike I need. I would like to ad a V MAX to my stable, I love those bikes.lol PEACE
Yea I'm pretty much set on the MAX. Wanted one when they came out years back (1200cc). The newer ones are monsters (1679cc). I gotta have the power, even on a cruiser lol You understand I'm sure haha. PEACE!
I have a 86 gl1200. ive done 5000klm trips with it. awesome ride. I know how you feel about respecting the power. I had a 650 maxim. scary quick. traded it on my wing. now id like to get a hyabusa. but still keep my wing.
I ride a mean streak cruiser and love it. Before buying it, I was really considering the FZ1 but knew if I had all that power then I would of course be using it... More then I probably needed to. The wife really likes the plush mustang seat I have on the cruiser atm. I bought a cruiser, not because I don't love the speed or thrill of a sport bike but because I think I might live longer driving a cruiser lol.
I agree with you on bikes. I own a zx6r and plan on getting a cruiser in future to take long trips on and be more comfortable than taking a sport bike. but def keeping my 636.
I remember my first ride on a cruiser. It was a Harley Davidson Muscle. Seating position was odd at first but after a while in riding, it felt very firm.
Night Rider I used to ride years ago (going to start up again I think). I had a cruiser with a bigger full windshield. Sure it sort of looked kinda goofy, but it sure makes a difference in fatigue and bug issues. Nothing like going 70 or more cruising a long and all of a suddenly a split from some big bug like a bumblebee, moth or such. Or a few at once. Especially in the neck. Or the occasional rock from a car or truck. You get the drift. Mine had the easy mounting brackets that allowed the windshield to go off and on real easy. Around town, no windshield. Longer drive, windshield. Thanks for solid of your video from that vantage point. Took me right back to my glory days. Got to get another cruiser and ride.
Night Rider Be careful on triple digits with a bigger windshield. You could get some bike wobble. Fairings seem to do better with that. I'll likely ride again with a cruiser. Nothing like cruising on a perfect summer day out of city on back roads or even then freeway through a beautiful stretch. I live in the Northwest. Summer's and all the beautiful areas before for a good cruise. Keep it funky!
Most bikes have some redeeming features, and if you get a test ride, you may feel that you gel with the bike.BUT,ask yourself"can I live with this",before you commit..At some point in your biking life, you will know what you like. For me it is 4 cylinders, and a fairing, and at least a 1000cc engine..Currently a CBR 1100xx.This wouldn't stop me enjoying a bit of time on another style of bike, but I know what I always going to return to.Good vid.
gregg ferns Yeah i know what you mean.Ive recently bought an M109r for cruising. But im a sportbike guy in my blood.I love low end and top end power ripping it every chance i get.Ive ridden a lot of different bikes now. Also ive made another purchase but will announce it on my channel later
Its a good size bike for an 800cc.....not much power though......I'm thinking all day in the saddle would be bad on ones back.......great for short trips.
That's because it's a shaft drive. They're not the most efficient type of drive, but they will last the longest with good care of course. Just change the drive/gear oil every few months or so - depending on how much you use it - and you'll be alright. There are tons of videos on how to do that. It's really not that hard.
You sure that was a Suzuki? The controls, handlebars, etc. look identical to my '03 Yamaha V-Star 1100 Classic. Think you had it right in the video, not the description. Was amusing to watch you rev the shit out of it in the beginning. Glad you figured it out: cruisers are about comfort on long rides and the wind in your face. I'm sure that I'd do no better on a sport bike.
I agree with you all the way. sport bikes are so much fun. but when want to travel a good cruiser is best. that's why I need a few bikes. good sport bike for fun sport riding and for traveling for myself a nice honda goldwing. then of course other bikes for other purposes. such as a track only bike be nice ducati diavel and so on.
I own an Intruder 1500 cruiser and i have pushed it to 120mph but it is best to ride it below 100mph. I did own an sportsbike and i could never take the routes i often take on it because of my back.
I've only ever ridden sport bikes and I rode my first cruiser today and my experience was pretty much the same as this guys. The shifter felt very foreign to me as did the feet position in general. But overall, not bad.
I have seen some nice cruisers out on the streets. I always liked the look of sport bikes since i was a kid. When i took my drivers course we used 250 cruisers and the feet forward position just felt weird and unnatural to me.
I got a CBR600 but I been riding my fathers Buell recently too, so much fun, so different. not a cruiser but still at that V Twin torque low end. I probably smile more on the Buell :)
I'm with you. Cruiser is going to be my first bike as that is more my style but I already know I will be getting a super sport for the country twisties when I want to haul ass.
Night Rider I thought it really suited your particular weight and build. I guess after riding a Hayabusa everything else pales in comparison, especially speed.
I am only 60 so may trade my SV 1000 for a cruiser when older , possibly a Yamaha MT10 or similar , who knows the market changes dramatically in a short time !
I know rev matching and down shifting on any machine after ten minutes of driving it! All bikes demand respect or you'll be to the curb. My 250sport is a heck of a lot more demanding of my attention than my 650 high rev YICS which is really just a sports bike motor on a cruiser frame. The weight means a lot though and on long highway rides Id rather be on the cruiser of the two. Eventually I'll probably go sport touring. Seems the best of both worlds. Harley have one of those yet?? Overall the 250 is way more fun for back road jaunts. It feels like your working more at pressing the machine closer to its limits instead of doing less work on a bike more than capable for the track. This may make sense for some and not others. Slow speed maneuvering is also fun due to weight difference. Overall, safety first then the fun right? The smallest bike demands just as much respect as largest and all rely on the awareness of other motor vehicle operators. If you're traveling hours on a highway then something heavy and comfy will probably be your best bet. If you have short back road runs to work or where ever then maybe a lightweight sportsscoot will do (added low mpg and insurance). If your in beastmode for everything in life atm then a 1400cc sport might be the one to show you it can't solve your problems. Regardless, stay safe and remember....the other riders on the road are part of your cageless crew. Recognise your fellow rider when possible. Regardless of what they're driving you've both discovered how to experience the road to its fullest. Air to your face. Wind at your sides. uninhibited 360 view of the world at high speed and higher stakes than any other means. Stay safe for the 2016 season folks.
Your like me! I like sport bikes and cruisers. There is nothing like the acceleration of a sport bike. It's like riding a bullet. Then sometimes I just want to relax and look at the senery. Hearing a big v-twin rumble.
Xero I almost tried the diavel. But Ducati demo days only allow you to ride Two bikes a day....so stupid i know.anyway i dont like that those two had no passenger space. The Ducati was way too expensive and the Vmax looks kinda weird
Your buddy was hugging the centerline, makin' me nervous! As for cruisers verses sport bikes, well, that's just yet another case of comparing apples and oranges. I don't know why some people feel the need to rag on bikers who don't ride what they ride. Seems kinda petty to me. They can ride what they like and shut the hell up, as far as I'm concerned. Anyway, ride safe, brother, and keep the shiny side up, and the rubber side down! Peace!
When your riding in the country. A lot of bugs will hit you in the face. So, the shield comes in handy. Early in the mournings you'll find less bugs. When I got my first bike, I was taught that you should never put down another biker because they may not be the same as yours. I ride only a cruiser, and I'm not in to racing bikes. But, regardless of what you ride, we are all bikers and we have to watch after each other. The odds are already against us when we hit the road. And anything that is not a motorcycle is the enemy and a danger to our kind. And I really do not like to hear any biker putting down another biker because his or her bike is different. It's the man who makes the bike, not the other way around. Keep the sun in your face and the wind on your back my friends.
i went from riding a R1 to a harley sportster iron 883. (still ride the r1 for the ladies) but i choose the harley more just becaue it has power and its so comfortable. i could ride for hours on the harley but on the R1 i can only ride for a couple hours, but it sure is a head turner.
That's What It's All About! Being Kicked Back, And Comfortable Thumping Along! "Ride To Live"..."Live To Ride"! WW (WWVETTE) By The Way I Have A 1991 CORVETTE Convertible... (Roadster) But Glad To Be Riding Again!
Oh yeah, sorry about that man, this was an old video and I have so many bike subs that I watch that I forgot you are the one I watched before buying my own m109r haha
I was disappointed with the 900cc Vulcan cruiser I had when it came to acceleration and highway riding - just not enough power. 1400cc or better for a cruiser gives plenty of torque and plenty of power to cruise comfortably at highway speed imho - if (when)you get a cruiser! :-)
109r is not that comfort because of long gastank and further reach the handle, try fatboy it more comfort, becasue the 2001 model have a shorter gastank, and fatter
+night rider I own both styles, a c50 boulevard which is the newer version of the volusia you're riding, and a ZX9R. Sometimetimes I feel Like a hooligan, sometimes I don't..lol the volusia is about 45 hp..
Your experience is exactly why I ride a cruiser, the comfort. I've never ridden a sport bike and I'd like to try one out one day just to feel that pull but I don't know how you guys stay comfortable on those things. For me the only us vs them thing is for guys who ride like dicks which tend to be sport bike guys but I'd ride with or on anything bike.
Thallium RC I've seen plenty of cruiser guys pull out of a bar shitty drunk and acting stupid so I agree that there are dick riders on all kinds of bikes but certainly the sport bike group has more than their share of riders that put themselves and others in harms way for the way they ride.
Yeah youre right we ride crazy lol.Ugh basically they are not about comfort.Im not being condescending but to truly appreciate a sportbike you have to be somewhat skilled at riding it.They are vastly different and faster than cruisers. An average cruiser makes about 60 to 70 hp.These sportbikes are pushing 110 to 212hp at half the weight. After riding a few cruisers its apparent that if a guy has never ridden one it will be hard to comprehend just how fast they are. I just came from a demo ride and a 45 years motorcycle veteran tried a hayabusa for the first time and nearly lost his mind LOL! They are INSANELY fast
Night Rider Hey I'm not hating on the bikes. My cruiser is 1700 cc and I love every bit of that power so I'd love to feel the pull and handling of a sport bike even if I looked like a gorilla on a tricycle lol. My exception is with the dumb asses out there putting themselves and, most importantly, others in danger for riding like dicks. You want to go to the track and open that fucker up then be my guest but when guys are out on the streets fucking shit up then I have a problem. Even if they only kill themselves they make the rest of us look bad. For all the accident and death data out there you will not find guys like me riding all day long as high on that list as you will young guys on sport bikes.
I ride a cruiser and also wear a full face helmet trust me even with all that you're still gonna want that windshield especially if youre considering highway riding. With the sport bike you get low on it for better aerodynamics but with the way a cruiser is set up you basically become a kite.
you need to look up the victory cross country now thats a boat you need to ride i wish i could ride sport bikes but i mto tall and a little chubbya ha love you vids ;)
+Night Rider atually yes i have and you lean forward alot and i kind of like it but im also 16 i have been riding all my life but i just dont know about starting on a busa not to mention insurance i mean im not a hooligan even when i drive a car i can control my self but thats why i was thinking of a simple big crusier like a 94 honda manga or somhing but if i could get a busa and be comfortable i wouldnt argue.
Night Rider yeah there are a lot of kids at my old school that rode cbr600s and you see them ride and you are just like they are going to kill them selfs but i have looked at a 97 cbr 1000s but it comes back to the power the question will i be able to handle it thats a lot of dangerous power.
You sure found neutral on that tiny cruiser. Yeah cruisers redline about 5500 not 13500 - 17500 like the sportys. Ride everything is right! If and when you get a cruiser, I wouldn't get under a 1600. An 800 is about 30hp. 😏 The cruisers aren't quick but they have torque so if you go up mountains or have a passenger you don't lack power & really don't notice. Try a Concours or an FJR. Fun n comfy👍🏼
First mistake, riding a foreign cruiser. I'd chose my harley sportster over my z1000 any day. All on preference tho. Would love a super moto. Try riding a brand new Harley, like a v-rod ;) You gotta be a man and listen to the engine to shift, like a real boy
Whats different about foreign cruisers? Also i would have ridden my buddies vrod but he sold it and bought a bmw! As far as shifting! I think if your pushing your bike its good to have a tach! My Hayabusa has far limits but even it is extremely hard to know when im redlining!
Night Rider It's just a totally different ride, my friend owned a v star and we'd let each other ride ours bikes and it's completely different experience. Something that you'd have to experience I suppose. Or just me :/..Yeah that's a good point of shifting, but again that's just the way I was taught because when I first got my bike it didn't have a taco. Good point didn't think about that.
Jamesy I cant wait to find out! Yeah i would love to have a gear indicator and shift light! In the craziness of blazing you can easily forget what gear your in!
This was a great review. I like that you were fair in assessing the differences and acknowledging that both types have their advantages and disadvantages. I like that you concluded you like both.
Yeah they are so different it would be a mistake to compare the two so closely. They are made for totally different purposes in mind
glad you liked the cruiser ride ,way different than sport bikes ,but anything that gets you in the wind is awesome with me,have to say I hadf a blast riding with ya ,rode for 35 yrs ,had a stroke & its been 7 yrs since i have been in the wind,so i have a bunch of vids like this I watch everday ,make more of them please

I had a blast! I just love Motorcycles..All Motorcycles!

Admittedly...the ninja 650 does have a better looking swingarm...BUT THAT IS ALL!!!
I ride a Yamaha Roadstar 1600, you would probably be more comfortable on that. 800cc is pretty small for a cruiser.
Cruisers, Sport bikes, Scramblers, Dual Sport, Touring, Scooters. They're all awesome in my book.
I had or rode most of the best sportbikes in the 80's, then rode a friends 87 Suzuki Savage for about a week...this was in '89. The difference between the two are obvious. Yeah that kinda is the case.Your r1 is razor sharp precision and power.Cruisers aint
Ride everything you can get your hands on.
Love that.
Thanks just rode a Bmw K1300 loved it.Will post it soon.Raced it too LOL not sure if I'll post that
Cruisers are just more badass, I cant help it. If I see a sportbike I don't even bother looking, but when I hear a cruiser, I just stare until its out of sight

Thank u so do i man! Ive been growing pretty good so far

+Jeff Watson Yeah i figured that out later haha

just loving that sound and smell again!!
I don't know what either one looks like but congrats
i dont have the bottle to ride at the speeds you do, nor the skills.
we get so few sunny days, so i am out there makin the most of it .
If you're a true biker than you love riding any bike. So thank you for bringing that out.
I’d recommend a Star V1300 - even the V950 has more poop than that. But really once you learn the shifting, even an 800 has decent torque.
Great video! Funny too. I rode a Intruder 1800R. almost drop it while making a tight turn in the parking lot. Had to put my foot down. Heavy as hell and low weight point. But still lots of fun.
Yeah its weird at first
NR -- I had to laugh when you kept missing shifts to 2nd! I went from a 49cc Vespa twist-n-go to a 2053cc Kawasaki VN2000A, and trust me, the learning curve was STEEP! I want to
Good on ya mate...I've never ridden a cruiser in all of my biking years and can't imagine wanting one on the near future but have plenty of buds who do ride them and a good mate of mine Suffolk Andy on TH-cam has a zzr1200 and a 1200 sportster....loves em both and vlogs on both ...Gotta say his Harley is one very loud Oll thumper and one of which I'm looking forward to trying out... enjoyed that buddy!
+WEGGY zx12r Thanks mate i appreciate it.Yeah you gotta try it
+Night Rider Soon mate soon....just found ya channel ....subbed...cheers
WEGGY zx12r
Im glad you did and thanks
Which state is this ?
When you do decide to buy a cruiser what are you thinking about getting? I'm looking at the Suzuki M109 for next year. How did you feel about the leans going from Sport bike to cruiser?
Im also looking at that bike! As far as leaning it was to be expected for this size cruiser not as easy as my bike but not really too hard
Lol at that first shift!
I know man im looking like a rookie ha ha!
I have a Harley and never rode a sport bike I'd be short shifting that thing I'm sure...
***** The shifter on a sport bike feels smaller
***** you gotta try a sportbike they're so much fun
very good rider and commentator . enjoyed this!
Peter Addison Thank u very much
A lot of guys have all three; sport, cruiser and dirt bike.
***** Yeah i totally get why now
That's my goal
Enjoyed the vid. I’m guessing you’re on either a 650 or 950 based on the shifting - there’s no 800 V-Star that I know of. I’d recommend the 1300 for you - I think you would appreciate the extra oomph. And as you found out, a v-twin is low end torque and you don’t wind em out like a parallel twin.
do you have any vids on what go pro you use and how its mounted? You make cool vids and I enjoy them very much as Im a newer rider at 54 years of age.
+Rick Devlin Go pro hero 3 black edition with adhesive mounts on my helmet that come with the camera
I used to have a 1982 VT800C Honda and I rode that as a daily ride for years. I"m sure this is a very similar ride. The Honda was reliable, light 300lbs and peppy. I got 2 Harleys now. 73XLCH and 2001 FLSTF...
300 lbs is really light
Good video. ~ S ~
Thanks a lot
You have FANTASTIC straight roads to ride on.
Not quit there is a lot of gravel everywhere
That was so funny.... Cruisers are great beginner and old man bikes. Can't wait for a Bike like yours... I'm spelling it wrong the Hayabusa
+Derrick Durham LOL they are good for long rides and riding with a passenger! What do you ride now?
+Night Rider 2015 Yamaha Bolt 950cc
Derrick Durham
Ah nice looking bike
Janel Russell, my custom M109R with nitrous gets the job done.
The only girls I see on cruisers could stand to lose 40-80lbs. The hottest girls I've seen are always on sport bikes.
That's a pretty retarded statement since the only girls you see on sport bikes are under 25.
Eric Weiss I see
I have a suzuki Vl 800 2001 and is really comfortable and powerful but generally I like all motorcycles .
love your videos man, this channel had a lot of potential. keep up the good videos 👌👌
has* my bad
+Aidan O'Connor LOL i was like dang my career is already over? HAHA
Night Rider Lmao, nah man, great vids, keep it comin. I don't see anyway why this channel WOULDN'T grow
Aidan O'Connor
There is so much content out there its hard to get noticed
Patrick Hatrick Definitely. I love having both
Yea I'm pretty much set on the MAX.
+Seth D The meanstreak was almost my first bike!
I agree with you on bikes. I own a zx6r and plan on getting a cruiser in future to take long trips on and be more comfortable than taking a sport bike. but def keeping my 636.
President Nixon It would be nice to have the best of both worlds!
+Night Rider the Suzuki BKing is pretty comfy for touring and it's got a hayabusa engine! My dad used to have a grey one
Sarxcel
Do they even sell that in the US?
Not sure but in Canada yes it was a 2007 1340cc he used to drag race it and he got almost 9 second 1/4 mile
I remember my first ride on a cruiser. It was a Harley Davidson Muscle. Seating position was odd at first but after a while in riding, it felt very firm.
+Revolt Wolf They still make that?
Yup. V-Rod Muscle they've called it. If I wasn't so into sports bike or I have the budget, I'd definitely get me it.
If you go on a long drive for the day, you'll be glad you had a windshield. You'll be less tired and less bugs splattered on you.
Thomas C Yeah i got a m109r now and i need one for the wind resistance
Thomas C Yeah and i ride triple digits constantly and it gets hard to hold on with the wind. I hope to see you riding again soon
Thomas C Thanks for the heads up
Did you get your cruiser yet? Have you ridin any cruisers since?
Well it looks like you get first dibs on info....i bought a cruiser LOL! Video will be out tomorrow
I was waiting to see you take that sharp left at 5:08 then there is an edit and we don't see the turn, what happened?
Its in there the edit just skipped to the left turn.look at the house on the right before the edit then after the edit!
You didn't seem to have any problems ridding ,show you no what you are doing,I think you liked that more upright position
War Mongerel 100% positive
War Mongerel I have an m109r now
I agree with you all the way. sport bikes are so much fun. but when want to travel a good cruiser is best. that's why I need a few bikes. good sport bike for fun sport riding and for traveling for myself a nice honda goldwing. then of course other bikes for other purposes. such as a track only bike be nice ducati diavel and so on.
Bostin Aycock This guy agrees 😊
I have seen some nice cruisers out on the streets. I always liked the look of sport bikes since i was a kid. When i took my drivers course we used 250 cruisers and the feet forward position just felt weird and unnatural to me.
You get used to it!
Holycrap, best video on earth
Cheers!
Nice reveiw bro!Agree with u on respecting all rides!
Thanks i appreciate it
I got a CBR600 but I been riding my fathers Buell recently too, so much fun, so different. not a cruiser but still at that V Twin torque low end. I probably smile more on the Buell :)
Yeah it gives you that gut punch down low lol
I'm with you. Cruiser is going to be my first bike as that is more my style but I already know I will be getting a super sport for the country twisties when I want to haul ass.
+MrBoredom123 Now that i have both i can say i have much more fun on my Sportbike.
cruisers for long range adventures and sports bikes for making you feel young again. Thus why I have one of each.
Jimmy and Max will love this!!!!
Scooter George who??
Who? The clowns who post on a Harley low side crash video.
Nice ride man! I think it suits you.
CheerX9087 Nah too small and too slow! Its nice but i want something sexier than that! No offense to the owner ha ha
Night Rider I thought it really suited your particular weight and build. I guess after riding a Hayabusa everything else pales in comparison, especially speed.
Hahahahaha at first I was like BRO...SHIFT haha, what are you on in this video?
I am only 60 so may trade my SV 1000 for a cruiser when older , possibly a Yamaha MT10 or similar , who knows the market changes dramatically in a short time !
60 year old? that is old enough
Try the M109R, VTX1800, VN2000, or VMAX if you want more power in a cruiser. All except the VMAX though are going to slower that a sport bike.
+YouHaveGotToKidding I want to ride anything i can get my hands on LOL!
Jim Sherlock Yes sir.Im very grateful to be able to have both
You should try a vmax or diavel, they're cruisers but also fast as hell and have great brakes.
Peace!
Why can't apples be compared to oranges?
+John Nall Yeah i understand the use for them. And i agree with your philosophy on bikers
i went from riding a R1 to a harley sportster iron 883. (still ride the r1 for the ladies) but i choose the harley more just becaue it has power and its so comfortable. i could ride for hours on the harley but on the R1 i can only ride for a couple hours, but it sure is a head turner.
Yeah the R1 exudes an aura of speed ,danger, and sexiness
alot of sexiness. Only the guys really appreciate the R1 lol the girls will fall for any sport bike
+427fulpeter yeah that thing is a monster I love it
That's What It's All About! Being Kicked Back, And Comfortable Thumping Along! "Ride To Live"..."Live To Ride"! WW (WWVETTE) By The Way I Have A 1991 CORVETTE Convertible... (Roadster) But Glad To Be Riding Again!
Yeah I enjoy that aspect
You went into neutral a few times in the beginning when accelerating haha you need to ride the v-rod or m109 r. Then you'll see power
N L I agree.So i bought a 2015 M109r Boss
Oh yeah, sorry about that man, this was an old video and I have so many bike subs that I watch that I forgot you are the one I watched before buying my own m109r haha
N L Its all good homey 😃
Just watched it, now I'm totally convinced I will never be old enough and result to just for men or Grecian 2000 to want to ride a cruiser.
+Steve Kennett LOL
Awesome riding bro
+Gavy Cruz Thanks a lot
After 5 minutes you should know the bike if your a rider!
I was disappointed with the 900cc Vulcan cruiser I had when it came to acceleration and highway riding - just not enough power. 1400cc or better for a cruiser gives plenty of torque and plenty of power to cruise comfortably at highway speed imho - if (when)you get a cruiser! :-)
+ABC LawnWorks Yeah i definitely need some power to satisfy me too
(in Darth Vader voice) "Come to the Crusier side!" LOLOL
+Coya Campbell i will in time haha
+Night Rider By the way... what did you ride? I'm debating on upgrading my Yamaha VStar 1100 with a Yamaha Raider....
Coya Campbell
Suzuki Volusia
did he say "come on boy follow him" wtf
LOL no he was like " why don't you go ahead and follow him" .He doesn't talk like that.
I ha an 05 Yamaha V-STAR 1100 for 8 years , second only to my 2 goldwings . I would own another V-STAR but smaller .
why you own so many bikes? it is hard to take care of them if own too many
I do all my own work and maint. on all my bikes , custom show trucks , race cars . That is my leisure time .
You seem tall ,how tall are you?
Try a Sazuki vs 1400 intruder. It's an excellent cruiser
you need to ride a couple of time in order to get used to it, alway more comfort than any sport bike, good for long distant ride
vincent yap I bought an m109r recently
i riding fatboy all the way, i will never change to sport bike
vincent yap I feel ya
i got 2 chopper 1 is dailim daystar 140cc and the other is fatboy 1450cc, my fatboy will not ride regulaly becasue it may hurt my ears
109r is not that comfort because of long gastank and further reach the handle, try fatboy it more comfort, becasue the 2001 model have a shorter gastank, and fatter
when you kept saying its comfortable, you sounded like charles Barkley lol
The Real Dino Well thats a first
Night Rider i was like damn he sound like somebody. lol yo vids are the shit bro. keep em coming
The Real Dino Yes sir thanks very much
+night rider I own both styles, a c50 boulevard which is the newer version of the volusia you're riding, and a ZX9R. Sometimetimes I feel Like a hooligan, sometimes I don't..lol the volusia is about 45 hp..
Thanks i was wondering how much it had
On youtube it says you have no subscribers is that a glitch or??
i was thinking you were black! i think it's your accent! respect starting up with a 1300cc
Thanks yeah it wasnt easy but im glad i did it!
Have you tried a raider yet night rider?
soloslave1985 No i haven't
I ride an H2 and a VL800, i love em both.
Dicks come in all shapes and sizes lad, whether or not they ride sport bikes, cruisers, super sports, bobbers, or even cafe racers.
Steven Burdick
I know im fully aware we ride like crazy people lol!
you want power look into a Suzuki M109 or M90 Muscle Cruiser
Teaser...i might have
I ride a cruiser and also wear a full face helmet trust me even with all that you're still gonna want that windshield especially if youre considering highway riding. With the sport bike you get low on it for better aerodynamics but with the way a cruiser is set up you basically become a kite.
+Daniel Powers Totally agree.I have a cruiser now and need a shield
you need to look up the victory cross country now thats a boat you need to ride i wish i could ride sport bikes but i mto tall and a little chubbya ha love you vids ;)
+mak If i get the chance i will! Have you ever sat on a Busa?
+Night Rider atually yes i have and you lean forward alot and i kind of like it but im also 16 i have been riding all my life but i just dont know about starting on a busa not to mention insurance i mean im not a hooligan even when i drive a car i can control my self but thats why i was thinking of a simple big crusier like a 94 honda manga or somhing but if i could get a busa and be comfortable i wouldnt argue.
mak
Yes teenagers have a hard time controlling those urges ha ha!
Night Rider yeah there are a lot of kids at my old school that rode cbr600s and you see them ride and you are just like they are going to kill them selfs but i have looked at a 97 cbr 1000s but it comes back to the power the question will i be able to handle it thats a lot of dangerous power.
Night Rider oh and BTW thank you for responing to my comment ;).
+1 on the meanstreak. I have the marauder 1600 which is the same bike. coming from the busa u want at least 1600 ccs that bike u r riding looks small
Sounds like a Suzuki Volusia 800
+1400IntruderVS it is
You sure found neutral on that tiny cruiser.
+choppertj1 Ill try anything i can get my hands on! Yeah it felt like 30hp too haha
I take the Hya. Custom bikes City or a night out at the Blue Oyster bar.
my god I understand you're used to a busa but damn why the hell would you rev a cruiser so high to shift
LOL cause i can go to 80mph in first gear on my Hayabusa so its a huge adjustment!
Jamesy
I cant wait to find out! Yeah i would love to have a gear indicator and shift light! In the craziness of blazing you can easily forget what gear your in!
I've jump from a Yamaha virago 250 to a 1600 kawasaki meanstreak been riding for 3yrs....never jump to sport or naked bikes maybe I will one day
They are completely different from cruisers but awesome
