The first time I tried it I tapped everywhere except where I was supposed to! Finally I just laughed and said “help”! Cashier was very nice and helpful!

Thank you for this video! My bank sent me a contactless debit card, which I had mixed feelings about because I didn't love the chip card and this didn't seem like a step up. I've had several "Wait, where do I tap?!" moments in public that have been embarrassing. Knowing that it's simpler than I thought is very comforting 😊

Excellent tutorial and it's a good idea to use tap when it's available because it helps avoid your card getting skimmed by thieves.

I’m 24 years old I’ve had anxiety since I was 17 with shitty parents so I never learned to pay for anything I always use cash haven’t paid for anything in forever I usually send my husband inside these days but I’m wanting to grow and this has been SOO HELPFUL THANK YOU.

I looked like a ninny when I told the cashier I didn't understand what "tap" meant. She did it for me and I would have very much liked to crawl into a hole and pass away.
"Tap" is such a bad word for it! I'm sorry the cashier made you feel bad! It's not obvious.

Thank you so much for this video. I've been having trouble with chip readers ever since I went off to college. I have such bad anxiety about going grocery shopping knowing that my card is going to fight me. I always feel horrible bothering the attendants and embarrassed that my card is not working. I recommend tap to pay it will stop anyone from skimming your card 99% of the time.
Well done. Banks and retailers tell you how easy and wonderful contactless is but it would help a great deal if they also told you the simple steps to make it easy. Like most things it's not THAT easy when you don't know how and there is a large and impatient queue behind you!

I always stick my card in the slot, but I saw on the news that there are these new and improved super tiny card readers that scammers are sticking in those slots to steal your card information and they suggested for people to do the tap and pay instead. So here I am tryna learn how it's done. Thanks for this video!

Brings back the old days when people had to learn how to use ATMs. There would be a line and people would make comments about how there should be practice ATMs next to the real ones. My debit card just expired and did not have the tap feature. When the chip failed, I would get to watch the cashiers try to use tap.

Omg this week i was at the gas pump , 😂🤣😂 i was tapping and moving that card 🤣 finally i just inserted the darn card and said to myself forget 😅

This was very helpful, thank you! I didn't event realize my card was setup for this until a restaurant serve tapped it. I never noticed the symbol, lol. My chip doesn't work, so I guess I'll start tapping. 😆

I'd always been wondering what those green icons at the top of the PIN pad indicated....
I am still working out where exactly the card needs to be. If I don't get it right in 2-3 seconds, I just use the chip instead.
