How can the judges score such an uneven horse for a win. Why is there still so much allowed in dressage that is not ok for the horse!?

She hangs onto the curb in a death grip all through the test.

Lovely Wendy shows her talent. Not perfect and with some tension but the partnership is new with 4 weeks of training and they will get better.

Awful riding behind the vertical for nearly the whole test - dreadful.

Chewing the bit constantly & lots of foam right at the beginning of the test. Looks very uncomfortable in the mouth.

Ms. Werth and Mr. Kittel enable Mr. Helgstrand to circumvent his ban by introducing his top horses and so business can continue in the USA. Last year, the animal-cruelty training methods of the Danish dressage rider and company mogul Andreas Helgstrand came to light through a TV report. Andreas Helgstrand was banned and is now not allowed to ride in competitions or train any youngsters for a few years. But who cares when Helgstrand runs “training centers” all the way to the USA? In Florida he held a master class with prominent speakers, including Isabell Werth, smiling side by side with an animal abuser who had so blatantly violated ethical principles. Ms. Werth and Mr. Kittel enable Mr. Helgstrand to circumvent his ban by introducing his top horses and so business can continue in the USA. Ms. Winter-Schulze should have her Federal Cross of Merit taken away again. Quote website Helgstrand Dressage January 24 can be found under News: Queenpark's Wendy and Jovian are facing an exciting sporting year as both top dressage horses will have a new rider in the saddle. Helgstrand Dressage, in collaboration with Wendy's owner Bolette Wandt from Château de Fontaine, has entered into a partnership with the world-renowned German dressage rider Isabell Werth and Madeleine Winter-Schulze for the talented gold medal mare Queenparks Wendy. Additionally, a partnership has been formed with the Swedish top rider Patrik Kittel for the fantastic breeding stallion and Grand Prix horse Jovian. Both horses are at the peak of their careers, so it only makes sense that they should have optimal conditions to develop their sporting potential while Andreas Helgstrand is out of competition in 2024

Why are dressage horses taught to hope on one front foot?

This is one of Isabell's better rides. That is not saying much as most of the time she rides like she's screwing a football. She must have went back to the basics and took some lessons. Reading some of the comments below it's obvious that not many people truly understand the meaning of what Dressage is or was in the Equestrian world.
