@@Akagami0770Its stencils lol, it literally is cheating in the art world, you know those colouring in books you had as a kid with the outlines already drawn? This is that, all you're doing is colouring it in.
You could learn to do this in maybe 30 minutes, just not as fast as him is all.
@@singed420snowinit9art is art...he could use anything...even if he traced..it's art..and me you wouldn't be able to do that because he has knowledge of shading and what colors to put where.

@@fifth. I appreciate even the stuff with stencils. Even with them it isn't just simply getting colours and block spraying in the bits, it ain't that easy. It takes some measure of skill to add the depth he's adding to them to make them look as good as they do.
It's kind of like a modern, possible carcinogenic filled, take on Japanese wood block printing.

Unfortunately sometimes this is intentional. A lot of the spray paint artists that are in the public plaza of my city deliberately not wear masks in order to get a high from the aerosols. A local small hardware store owner even offered them dust masks and gloves if they painted something nice for a shop advertisement once, and 70% of them refused. Kinda sucks to see it happen but I guess whatever gets you through the day huh :/
Couldn't agree more. I love what he is doing but the only thing I could think of while watching this video, is his lungs inhaling those gases and his skin absorbing the chemicals. Also his posture, horrible for lower back and knees.
I wish him the best tho. He really does a great job.
dust masks 100% do not work for spray paint. maybe they were aware and would have preferred money in the street?

It's not too physically strenuous to kneel and use spray paint. Unless you're one of them Walmart Andretti's, then tying your own shoelaces involves an oxygen canister.

Bob Ross didnt use templates. Still looks really nice but yeah, not much art in painting over templates

Like I used to wonder the great late Bob Ross died of cancer I always wondered if it wasn't from inhaling all that oil paint, paint thinner etc over the years that contributed to it cause that stuff stinks. I'm sure this is worse though since those cans really smell and recommend being out in the open which he is at least doing that but yeah I'd definitely wear a mask for sure.

MKF30 this guy is also spraying really close to the paper so its catching like 94% of the spray and we can only guesstamate how much he is smelling from the remaining 6%

Agree about the mask and gloves, but I think this art has to be done on a flat, horizontal surface. An upright standing easel would cause the paint to drip and move down the page due to gravity. Maybe a table would be better, although he'd still be looking down and be hunched over. Terrible for the neck and back. Artists do suffer for their art!

I bought so many painting from this man. He used to set up shop in front of the Exchange at the Sasebo Navy base. He also made an appearance at an Air Force base in okinawa. Amazing work.
I knew this was the same guy lol. I’ve seen him in front of the exchange at Camp Hansen so many times. He comes here like every other weekend.

Mr. Rich B.O.B yeah its just easy to make and to make look good. But it makes them look super generic. Every time i see these kinds of vids i think “oh that looks just like that one i saw that guy making on the sidewalk in NYC! And in San Francisco... and LA...” like where’s the unique art style? They all just have the same look and feel from the ones i’ve seen
Well, the first stensil was some sort of cartoon. I would guess you can have any kind of stensil you want.
It's still better than "modern art" because this resembles something. I saw someone on Facebook 2 days ago selling a canvas with squiggly lines on it for $150
