I got my limited for 24,500.00 minus dealer rebate and trade-in ; totaling 18500.00....way better deal than Toyota or Honda could offer with comparable equipment......the only things im missing are #1) the sunroof and #2) rear seat butt warmers......I live in central florida; who is gonna need butt warmers down here????

I like the Elantra sport. It has independent rear suspension. 1.6 turbo as well. Love it.

The Civic is built more on gimmicks than the Hyundai. The only gimmick on the Hyundai is the hands free smart trunk because when will you not have even a finger or knuckle to poke the button on the trunk saying that it is paired with a proximity key and how much do you stand behind your car without intension of opening the trunk because your trunk will open for no reason then. If this can be turned off in a setting than this goes away though. On the other side the Civic uses Lane watch instead of a traditional blind spot detection system so it doesn't work well at night, during horrible weather visibility conditions like blizzard, doesn't offer anything on the driver's side, makes you look down at the infotainment screen rather than mirror which is inconvenient for checking your mirrors, doesn't beep at you and flash a light as a warning if you put your blinker on and a car is in your blind spot assuming that you didn't notice the car before hitting it unlike Honda where you hear the smack after it is too late, finally since the sensors are already there rear cross traffic alert helps out when backing out of a spot when you can't see around the vehicle next to you unlike the Civic. The touch screen volume control is harder to use than a traditional knob. Similarly putting the climate control adjustments in a touch screen is more distraction from needing to look at the screen in order to use it because you can't memories a screen good enough to use it without looking at it as easily because you can't feel around for a physical button/knob from memory because if you try feeling around on a touch screen chances are you will touch the wrong thing and activate it. Maybe next time Honda can put some more useful features in that they left out like homeLink even if not available at the bottom make it available at least the EX or EXT an up. In the end when you look past all of the gimmicks that make up this car to the features of the Elantra and price that it brings some more convenient things that are not found in this segment not listing other found features like base having XM radio (only if you can find money for subscription and if not just ignore it) and America's best warranty (shared with partner company Kia). SE with popular equipment an infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, heated mirrors, and auto lights. Adding on the Tech Package dual zone climate control and heated mirrors. Value edition at same price adds sunroof along with heated seats from tech package and both combined are not found only one or the other, power driver's chair with lumbar support, and auto dimming mirror with homeLink and compass. Only other thing worth mentioning is at the top ultimate package you get 2 preset memory driver's seat and mirror positions if you have a spouse or someone else who you share the car with. Rather than that the rest is similar to what other companies offer.

Peter Gilbert the hand free trunk option can be turned off. however I bought this car and I really like this feature. every time I grocery shop I just roll up to the trunk wait 3 seconds and pop it's open. nice.

for $10,000 less, I can buy the vw jetta ($4,000 in dealer discount and vw bonus off msrp) with turbo gdi engine, dsg transmission, and fully independent rear suspension with rear anti-sway bar. the plantar is grossly overpriced. you have to get the $23,000 limited, plus a $2,000 package just to get a sunroof? on a car made in USA? stupid management!

Wow I'm so glad they didn't go into interior room cause Hyundai would
fall on it's face with that one. No one cares about heated steer wheels.
Also alloy wheels? with cheap Korean made tires vs, Honda steeles with
    Michelin tires.
