- 1/48 scale Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp engine from AIRES.
This engine is a part of a full upgrade detail set for Tamiya F4U-1 Corsair kits.
In this video, I show you how I built this Pratt & Whitney R-2800 engine.
This is not a sponsored video. The kit, paints, materials and everything I use paid from my own money.

The only thing you forgot was to start her up at the end. Fantastic work - thankyou.
Thank you 😊
Absolutely brilliant!!! Great to see someone still uses a brush and not falling back to an airbrush to paint the interior green. I would have to say you missed your calling....you would make a great surgeon. Well done!!!!!!!
Thank you so much.
That inner ring and ignition wires looks really good! Reminds me of the radial engine at the US Air & Space Museum.
Thank you 😊
That music is painful but this is some great footage. The engine build is super quality but making the video at the same time. It’s like WoW!! And they say that the Rolls Royce Merlin was the hero engine of WW ll.
Love that yellow end cap bro! 🦲
Thank you
This is incredible! I've never seen something like that before. You're are real artist!
Thank you so much 😊
I like your love to details. Great work!
Thank you 😊
Amazing job....! Out of this world ..!
Thank you, new video is coming soon. Stay tuned...
Great video!
Thank you
You have steady hands my friend!!!!
thanks
BEAUTIFUL BUILD ... AND PAINT JOB !
Thank you.
Incredible detail for such a scale. Nice work 👍
Thanks
Patience is a virtue. A very fine piece of work indeed.
Thank you 😊
Nice video. Currently building this now, for some reason the kit only gave me 5 intake manifold pipes so this is going to be fun trying to fix that error.
Thank you
That will be a challenge...
Maybe, try to replace the missing ones with thick lead wire.
Good luck
Nice job done, and thanks for sharing. I just made the resin egines for my 1/72 scale B-17G.
Thank you
I think it might’ve been easier to rebuild a real one!! Nice work and attention to detail. Very. very cool.
Thank you 😊
...мастерская!...мастерская работа....
Thank you 😊
Elég bomba lett! 😉🤘
Köszi 😊
@@cslvisualstudio Szia! Én is elkezdtem egyet csinálni, a kábelezés kovetkezik rövidesen. Rálesnél? Hátha el tudsz látni pár jó tanáccsal! Itt van a csatornámon. Igyekeztem ellesni pár dolgot kisebb nagyobb sikerrel 😃

Looks great! Thank-you! To help me learn, did you use thick glue when gluing small parts, to avoid drips?
Hi,
Most of the time, I use Tamiya's extra-thin glue. It has a nice pointy brush applicator. Easy to control. For the small parts, I like to use gel superglue and a piece of thin wire as an applicator.
You are right; controlling the glue is important to avoid drips.
...блестяще!...
Thank you 😊
I wish someone would do this for a Bristol Hercules.
Sorry, I don't plan to build one, but maybe you can use my video somehow...😊
@@cslvisualstudio That’s okay. I’m just hoping one day the manufacturers will realise that P&W and BMW weren’t the only companies to make radials.
Then someone with your skills can make a video on how to super detail it. I’m not up to that level.
Amazing work! What kind of applicator are you using to apply those tiny amounts of glue?
Hi,
It's a whatchmakers tool.
Applying fine lubrication in the mechanical movement.
I don't use them anymore, a simple cheap 0.3 copper wire does the job.
@CSL Visual Studio Thank you for the tip. Just ordered several spools of copper wire. I don't build aircraft, but I really enjoy watching ALL military builds.
Thank you
Stay tuned, crazy things are coming...😉
What breng cokpit green color?
Hi,
Tamiya XF-71
@@cslvisualstudio Thanks
Le vagyok nyű-göz-ve!!
Nagyon szépen köszönöm. :-)
Can you imagine trying to do this is in 1/144 scale?
To be honest with you I tried it, but I failed. 😁 Check my P47 video. Unfortunately I had no wire for that scale.
Thanks! I love your P-47 video! I watch it daily.
Thank you ☺️I'm working on multiple projects.Stay tuned, one of them is 1/144.
"THIS IS NOT A TOY!"
Mate I've been making plastic kits since I was 8 years old, including paints, knife's and 'chemicals'...also known as glue. 🤣
Thank you, I'm sure you know what I wanted to say... :-)

😏 Yeah, I'm just hassling you. 😋
I know 😁
Why the Music ? - Adds nothing - very distracting
Maybe one day I will recut this video with VO.
WOW!!!
For ALL That Work you put into that 'CSL' it Sure Looks Superb!!!!
Question: 1) Do you prime that resin?? I would think you need to. 2) Which brand of paint do you use? Those metal colors look Good!! ( I'm an 'Alclad 2' user, but your choice looks Just Awesome!!! )
Now, that you have that Superb engine....do you install it into the plane with the cowling??!!
I want to do the same thing to my Tamiya kit and install an 'Aeries' resin engine...thanks for posting!!!
Hi,
Thank you for your comment; I'm glad you enjoyed these videos.
As far as I remember, I didn't prime the engine. I used, and I still use, Mr.Color SM series metallic paints, my all-time favourite metallic paints. There are very fine metallic particles in it; it's super smooth. The only downside is not too many tone variety, and it's not cheap. I would recommend buying the Super Iron2 and mixing it white, black, or even brown for different shades.
My Corsair is still in the box. I made the engine and the cockpit but haven't finished it yet. One day, for sure, it will come back to my desk.
The ARIES set is fantastic but requires a lot of work.
Stay tuned; I'm working on interesting things.
@@cslvisualstudio Yeah..... was checkin out your channel!! A LOT of Good stuff and I like that F-14 cockpit in 1/72..... I Like that 'Moto-Tug', such a simple engine BUT A Lot of detail and weathering, this will help me with my Indy Car Project with ALL of AMT 1/24 kits!!
Oh, by-the-way, I Just 'Sub' your Channel!!!!
Thank you ☺️
