You'd walk through the shop, grab a game with appealing artwork, check out the screenshots on the back, buy and enjoy. It cost Sony almost $900 to make the 60gb PS3 and sold it for a lot less. Fist console to have hdmi and wifi. North America's first blu-ray player and it even plays SACD. My favorite console of all time and that is why I have three launch models with one of them having a 65nm GPU.

I own PS2 and PS3, also played a lot of PS1 at friends house, loved all of that. It's just a shame that I didn't have any more games to enjoy, things became repetitive. Only now after around 8 years (i'm 22) I'm starting to collect games I've been missing out on, PS3 exclusives and are locked to the platform without any ports.
About owning a physical copy of your game, Ubisoft once said that buying a copy of the game doesn't means really owning it anymore, and than people are replying back saying that if buying doesn't means owning, then emulation doesn't means piracy anymore. Ubisoft agrees on emulating every assassins creed, according to it's staff.
The best thing about the PS2 was that it could barely play games. The fat model had problem's playing CD-Rom based games, while the slim model would burn your discs and leave scratches on them.
Honestly I think the ps5 is a great system , it’s just frustrating that the first party games are all but absent. This generation has been the most disappointing by far and when comparing to the last generations of Sony …the ps5 gets its ass kicked. Let’s hope they have a few quality single player titles coming soon instead of ….live service games, I want themes and folders back on the ps5 as well lmfao
From a design standpoint the PS5 looks far more modern than PS4. That doesn't mean it looks good though. Sony went too far with the curves and odd shape. A traditional rectangular shape would've been superior, especially compared to Xbox Series dumb cuboid shape.

As touched on in the video, the PS5 is a fine console without really many games... It's almost like a PS4 Pro - Pro etc where all it really does now is bump PS4 titles (that sometimes started out as PS3 games originally) up in resolution and frames. And often not even that... It wouldn't matter if it had literal Star Trek TNG tech under the hood - if there's very few games to play then it's ultimately pointless. I know it's been said a million times but this is what really separates the PS2, PS3 and (on the other side) 360 eras. The games.

(COD MW, God of War, Horizon Zero Down - dont even get the fan spinning properly). All you can hear is the bluray drive spinning, or the HDD loading xD EDIT: Sony's default cooling paste & pads are simply a nightmare. Almost feels like meant kill the consoles within a certain time.

The PS1 To PS4 is still peak to this day it's just a simple console that has a proper menu with the 3 and 4 while the ps5 has a messy hud and its just not cool. PS4 got more games on release besides the ps5. Cheap prices for ps1 to 4. However with PS5 its still 500 dollars which is annoying

Unpopular opinion, but I feel as if the backwards compatible PS3’s are massively overrated. Sure it plays PS2 games, but other than that it’s overrated. It was so poorly designed that there’s is a grave yard of these consoles on eBay now. You also have people charging anywhere from $200-$350, they’re not worth that price at all. Get a PS3 Slim and PS2 instead and if the PS2 game has been ported to the PS3, just get the PS3 version.

And that included two controllers and a bunch of games from Facebook Marketplace. And I mean, in my experience, these systems always ran cool, and lasted forever. My original PS3 still works. I gave it to my cousins a few years back. Hell that’s the only reason why I bought another one.

Got me a ps2 fat and 360 E to play on..sick of jumping on to play and having updates and downloads and having to install games. I still got some new xbox series x games but i need the 360 and ps2. When i just WANT TO PLAY and can just DO THAT you know? Willy nilly no hassle.
Ps4 and below is the best. There are no games for ps5. Also, ps5 is ugly. Lookin like a monochrome version of perfect cell's head lol. I think my ps4 pro is the final console I'm gonna get. Period. It's gonna be emulator handhelds from here on out considering the state of gaming atm.
The problem with PS4 and PS5 is they are just PCs. Nothing unique like processor etc. I know it's reality but the PS5 experience is just like Xbox or a PC.
I still consider PS2 & PS3 as one of the best Sony consoles ever invented. PS1 isn't bad either, but you can pretty much play all PS1 games on systems I already mentioned. PS4, while I do like the controller and the UI, it was also at that time where Sony slowly became corrupt & PS5 is a straight nail to the coffin. Aside from the Nintendo Switch, I haven't bothered looking up any new consoles as of late. Heck, I might be considering getting an XBOX 360 in the near future, since I could care less about modern XBOX consoles.

Looks like they mimicked the 360 hardware. Which is fitting since during the 360 days PS3 had to adapt & copy 360 software features, which are now standards in gaming.
PS1 was the game changer, it's Sony's debut console that competed with SEGA and Nintendo and beat them both by a landslide. The first Playstation was so successful that Microsoft saw what Sony did and went into the video game market to compete against the PS2.......because Microsoft realized the video game industry was a billion dollar industry.
I got them up to the PS3 and still have it, was happy enough with it, got the 4 as a gift and never opened it and sold it, couldn't care less, they just smoothed some stuff out as an excuse to keep going, I felt the graphics got good enough by the time 3 got here and it did enough as well, still use my super slim to this day.
You mention the PS5 disc edition having a "pimple", reminded me that when it was announced my friends & I all referred to the disc version as PS5 Tumor Edition. We all got Tumors.

PS1 and PS2 are my favorites since those were the ones I played as a kid. I never got any of the newer PlayStation consoles.
I like all of Sony’s PlayStation consoles but if I had to pick a “best” or “favorite” it’s the PS2 because it was the first console I had.

Got me a ps2 fat and 360 E to play on..sick of jumping on to play and having updates and downloads and having to install games. I still got some new xbox series x games but i need the 360 and ps2. When i just WANT TO PLAY and can just DO THAT you know? Willy nilly no hassle.
Right. You could never install the same amount of games you can have on disc just pop it in and play. No waiting for install.
Ps4 and below is the best. There are no games for ps5. Also, ps5 is ugly. Lookin like a monochrome version of perfect cell's head lol. I think my ps4 pro is the final console I'm gonna get. Period. It's gonna be emulator handhelds from here on out considering the state of gaming atm.

The problem with PS4 and PS5 is they are just PCs. Nothing unique like processor etc. I know it's reality but the PS5 experience is just like Xbox or a PC.
Love all the playstations, but I feel like ps2 has aged the worst.
I still consider PS2 & PS3 as one of the best Sony consoles ever invented. PS1 isn't bad either, but you can pretty much play all PS1 games on systems I already mentioned. PS4, while I do like the controller and the UI, it was also at that time where Sony slowly became corrupt & PS5 is a straight nail to the coffin. Aside from the Nintendo Switch, I haven't bothered looking up any new consoles as of late. Heck, I might be considering getting an XBOX 360 in the near future, since I could care less about modern XBOX consoles.

Looks like they mimicked the 360 hardware. Which is fitting since during the 360 days PS3 had to adapt & copy 360 software features, which are now standards in gaming.

PS1 was the game changer, it's Sony's debut console that competed with SEGA and Nintendo and beat them both by a landslide. The first Playstation was so successful that Microsoft saw what Sony did and went into the video game market to compete against the PS2.......because Microsoft realized the video game industry was a billion dollar industry.
I got them up to the PS3 and still have it, was happy enough with it, got the 4 as a gift and never opened it and sold it, couldn't care less, they just smoothed some stuff out as an excuse to keep going, I felt the graphics got good enough by the time 3 got here and it did enough as well, still use my super slim to this day.

i know how bad it is. my PS4 is a launch model, can't afford to upgrade to a Slim or Pro, and can't afford a PS5, so I play the PS4 version of GT7 on a launch 2013 PS4. it's L O U D.
Peoples memories say alot and dont get me wrong i have them too but if you really think about the best PS consoles are PS5 and PS3 Backwards Compatible. Between those two i wanna ask which you guys thinks is better?
But outside of that whats the point of the others? The PS5 is just a better PS4 all round and even if tou say it has no games we cant act like Sonys best games didnt always come out at the end of the cycle. Plus there are great PS5 games and games that are better on PS5

PS1 is above ranking, its just legendary. loved playing the greatest hits for the arcade games As a kid. Blasto, Tomba, & Toy Story 2 were my favorite games as a kid.

With out a ego, and in my humble opinion, i really think millions of gamer's would love playing it over and over ya know, it will have like 10 DIFFERENT Game scenarios to play and fight in, even before you start the MAIN Campaign , it might even be in completable on the HARDEST LEVEL, And think hard core GAMER'S Would love that challenge and many WILL HATE ON THAT SO HARD
Also the ps3 was the only controller with pressure sensitive buttons which was perfect for racing games like Gran Turismo 6

The original backwards compatible PS3 and the disc PS5 means you can play all generations of PlayStation.
