Fun episode! I hold that show near and dear to my heart. My grandma and I used to watch faithfully together. Every time I see an episode I always think about the time spent with her and the laughs we shared.
For me it was me and my Mom. She was fighting cancer, and I’d crawl into bed with her and we’d watch GG. It makes me think of my beautiful Mother every time I see another episode. I cherish those memories of laughter and ❤️ love
For me it was my Nan too. Looking back the jokes must have gone over my head as I was only young but I remember us squeezing on to a single seat couch together and watching it every Friday night. Great memories
@@ally7deto192My mom and I also watched this all the time. I still threaten her that I’m going to send her to Shady Pines. The threat was very real this week.
I discovered golden girls when I was in middle school and watched it on the Lifetime channel. I rarely watch the last episode because it always makes me shed some tears. Great list! RIP to all my golden girls!
My favorite show of all time. I know practically all the episodes by heart and still watch them and still they make me laugh like crazy.! Thank you Dave.
There is an episode where they are talking about taking care of each other into their old age and Betty White asks “What happens when there’s only one of us left?” And Betty White was indeed the only one left in the end.
GG. One of the best shows ever! Dave...so glad you can appreciate the superb humour and great comedic timing these women had. Love your show, I never miss it. You are bright, charming and on point with the issues and concerns of today. ❤️ Thank you😊
Cute ladies! I did a one day shoot as an extra on that show back in the late 80s. Ms White apologized to me for smacking my hand after I snuck my third slice of coffee cake at our first break. We talked and found out we were both diabetics! I told her I understood, and for her to just save me a slow dance at the rap party. Lady had swag before they invented swag.
Love that woman. I was lucky enough to meet Rue McClanahan when I worked in a grocery store in the 90s. She asked me if I could give her some sugar...fructose sugar actually. Funny woman.
You knew you were diabetic before that first slice, right ???!!!! Just teasing you on a serious matter. Don't mess around with diabetes, i am glad you are still around to tell your story. I'm guessing you are more careful now than 40 years ago.
My favorite moment is from the episode where Blanche makes a move on Stan's brother Ted but he seems to dump her for Dorothy. They confront each other in the kitchen and start calling each other names. Then Dorothy says my all time favorite quote - "I, I am a tramp? Blanche, have you heard the latest ad campaigns? Join the Navy, see the world, sleep with Blanche Devereaux! Join the Army, be all you can be and sleep with Blanche Devereaux! The Marines are looking for a few good men who have NOT slept with Blanche Devereaux!"
My favorite Golden Girls moment was when Rose told Blanche and Dorothy that each time she slept with a man he died right on the spot. Speaking of dying, Rose once told a horrible mean woman name Freda Claxton to drop dead. She instantly fell to the floor dead.😂😅😂😅😂
Loved The Golden Girls! One of my favorites is when the three of them are at the drugstore picking up a few things for a trip that they were all going on together with their boyfriends. Condoms! Condoms Rose! Then the guy at the register gets on the loud speaker for a price check on the condoms🤣🤣🤣 It was gold! And I still crack up watching TGG
the condoms episode also! when they are buying condoms at the store before going on a trip with their SO's and the clerk does a price check for the condoms on speakerphone in front of the whole store 😂
I love the last scene where Dorothy leaves....😢...it still makes my crying so hard...it was the end of an area....now they are all together back again...R.I.P. Dorothy, Rose, Blanche & Sophia ❤
Omg GG has been fave since I was too young too be watching it! I’m now 44 and I still watch it EVERY NIGHT! We should do GG trivia!! Only trivia I can win 😂
I love the moment when she tells Blanche "beat it, you 50 year old mattress". Or the time she and Blanche were dating the same guy. It was Sophia's date night and he was there to pick her up. When they go to leave Blanche tries to be seductive and talk about bathing with just enough water to cover her "perky bosoms" and Sophia says "you bathed in only an inch of water?" 🤣
I love the moment when Dorothy told Sophia she didn't sleep well as she'd had a nightmare. Sophia said "Was it the recurring dream where you're a lonely old woman sitting in a retirement home and no one comes to visit you on holidays?" Dorothy says that isn't the dream she had, to which Sophia replies, "Oh yeah right, that was my LIFE!!!!"😂😂
I LOVE this show! When I was a little girl, my mother and I used to watch this show not only for the comedy, but to see Dorothy’s horrid fashion! Each character was loved. May these beautiful women, rest in peace.
My favorite was when they were sitting at the kitchen table talking and Rose talked about how the bull would have been jealous of Charlie. It was hilarious.
You won't believe this but my husband and I watch old sitcoms while eating dinner and we are in the middle of The Golden Girls right now. I love this series so much! I have seen it at least 4 times before. It just so relaxing, funny and like a warm blanket ❤
That episode made me cry so hard. I had blocked it out. Thanks for the tears and fond memories. Those were pretty much all my favorites too but it's sooo hard to choose. Lol
😂😂😂😂 I so love every episode of The Golden Girls😂😂😂 one of my favorites was when Blanche gave Sophia a makeover 😂😂😂 when Blanche said she took an 84 year old woman and made her look like a 65 year old drag queen 😂😂😂😂 I was literally on the floor laughing 😂😂 that show was ahead of its time😂 kudos to all the writers and producers for making a timeless show ❤
One of my favourites. My now 21 yo daughter and I binge watch once a year and have for the past 5. My favourite: When Rose was dating the little person and Blanche thought it was a joke and laughs. “God, I wish I was dead”.
This is my all-time favorite TV show. Growing up, my grandma and I would watch it together every Saturday night. Now, when I watch it, I feel as if she is still sitting beside me.❤ one of my favorites when Blanche and Sophia are dating Fadel and Blanche tries to interfere, and Sopihia says, "Beat it, ya 50 year old mattress "
I love this show....always have. Dorothy and Stans scenes were hilarious. Just hearing "Hi, it's me Stan" ....gets me every time. "Shady Pines, Ma" became a family saying. 🇦🇺😀
One of my favorite moments - of the countless - is one where Clayton tells Blanche he’s going to marry Doug and somehow Rose caught the tail end of the conversation and misunderstood and thought the siblings wanted to marry each other. Rose then concludes that it was okay since, “Oh, you’re from the South.” 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 Then when Blanch corrects her that it’s not her marrying her brother, and Rose goes, “Oh…..OOOOHHHHH 😳😳😳!!!” I had such a bad belly laugh I still remember this moment and laugh whenever I rerun it in my head. 😄😄😄
sometimes nostalgia can be a factor when deciding ones favorite shows and movies. If Dave watched Seinfeld before TGG that could be why he thinks so lol
My favorite was when Blanche doesn't understand what lesbian is. She thinks it's Lebanese. And then is offended when a woman is attracted to Rose and not her. Hilarious!
Dave, I’d love to see a list of your favorite scenes for each character. Dorothy: “welcome, Baby!” Blanch: “oh, God, now I’m lying to a priest.” Rose: “He’s a priest, isn’t he?”(the squeak in her voice.) Sophia: Actually there’s too many great ones to pick just one!
ETA: I have that exact same mug!!!! I was born in 92 so this show was off air for a while before I started watching it with my grandmother after school. I sincerely think it is my favorite sitcom of all time. Some have come close but none have surpassed it. I watch it all the ay through at least 5 times a year lol
The goodbye scene just makes me cry on the inside. Wont get into why not on the outside but its so well done that it feels like an actual goodbye. I feel like im in that house when I wasnt even born yet at the time. This show is incredible.
The Golden Girls is my all time favorite and I couldn't ever imagine any other ladies playing these roles. I always love the scenes where Dorothy is trying to shut Sophie up and all the creative ways they came up with. One of my favorites is in season 7 episode 2 and Dorothy yells "Not now Ma".

They fought for equal rights, and they fought at a time when the HIV epidemic was tearing the world, apart to keep understanding and humanity to the suffers at that virus. …. THAT’S WHAT LEGENDS IS ALL ABOUT
Watched it with my grandma who was a young widow and dressed and decorated her home very much like the golden girls, same generation. She is also gone but when i miss her this is a show that brings me laughs and sweet memories of my grandma ❤️
Blanche’s middle name actually changed after the new writers came on. Blanche’s “mammy” called her by her maiden name, “Blanche Marie Hollingsworth, sit down!”
The line gets me when Clayton says, He'd Bend Over Backwards For Me. 😂😂😂 Lol I can only imagine what Sophia would have said to that. I Love Sophia and Dorthy
In my personal opinion, the greatest sitcom of all times. Four old women made the world laugh with grace, class and panache.
100%
Try the Five Mrs. Buchanans (with Eileen Heckart). Done by the same people, and again, funny, unique wise-cracking women.
These women were just SO easy to love...Elaine and the others on Seinfeld...not so much.
I totally agree. Shows with endearing and relatable characters do more for me than ones with arrogant, whiny, and "hip" metro types.
Blanche cannot appreciate you've called her old
As a younger woman I used to watch the Golden Girls all the time. And now I am one!
Same. And still one of my favorite theme songs that i sing along to ( loud, offkey. . Don't care ! Always gives me great joy)
Me too and now I can relate. It does not get old
I agree that it never gets old. The unique thing about “The Girls” is that I enjoy it more with each passing year!
And to which one do you relate to mostly? Blanche. Rose or Dorothy?
@@ArtificialSoul As a tall(ish) woman with a naturally sarcastic attitude, I definitely relate to Dorothy!!
One of the best sitcoms ever! Thanks Dave for the laughs and memories. They don't write them like this any more.
Wonderful ensemble acting. Everyone shines
I love watching the Golden Girls. Still watching them today. ❤️
All four are gone now. RIP
Stan as well :(
💔❤️🩹💔

One of the best sitcoms ever. That show could've gone on several more seasons if Bea Arthur hadn't quit.
One of the ladies, the little short lady, who is so cute, got dementia. So unfortunately, I don't think the show is going to continue.
The BEST sitcom ever. Bea Arthur was a goddess. She and Estelle Getty were an iconic duo.
Excellent show, but I'm glad it ended when it did. Went out in style instead of beating a dead horse.
Still watch them and these videos all the time on TH-cam ! All are gone but the show is timeless!!!🙏💥🤟🥇🏆🪙❤️❤️🕎✡️🇮🇱
The OGs! So many later shows were constructed after these 4 girls. Grew up watching it with my mom and grandma in the 90s, still worth a rewatch...❤
This video made my day! Thanks, Dave!!😁♥️
Me too
There is an episode where they are talking about taking care of each other into their old age and Betty White asks “What happens when there’s only one of us left?” And Betty White was indeed the only one left in the end.
I always get teary-eyed when I see that scene.
Yes, but Estelle/ Soohia says…. I’ll be able to take care of myself. Haha
As if to say, her character being the oldest will outlive them all.
Funny how the youngest died 1st and the oldest died last. Estelle was the youngest and Betty was the oldest.
@@jph0917 I thought Rue was the youngest; she was about 10.5 years younger than Estelle.
İ am so lucky because i watched the golden girls in the past. One of the best sitcom of all time ❤
I’m fifty and have been watching GG since I was 19. Perfectly cast, amazing writing and “allowed” to be funny- this show will never get old
I am 15 and remember watching for majority of my childhood am very much agree
Thanks Dave ....one of my all time favourite comedies
.
GG. One of the best shows ever! Dave...so glad you can appreciate the superb humour and great comedic timing these women had. Love your show, I never miss it. You are bright, charming and on point with the issues and concerns of today. ❤️ Thank you😊

Meeting Betty White must’ve been a really cathartic experience. Such a cultural icon she was.
I have the 24/7 channel for the Golden Girls. Been watching them for years! Much better than most TV series they have out now.
whats the channel?
Dave, glad to see that you and millions of others of us share a common bond - THE GOLDEN GIRLS!! Excellent video!! Please do another one like it!
This brings back some (sad?) memories ... I used to watch GG with both grandma and mom, both now gone to their reward.
My favorite moment is from the episode where Blanche makes a move on Stan's brother Ted but he seems to dump her for Dorothy. I know!!! I have so many favorite lines of theirs but this one stood out to me also!!! Good choice 👍👍👍
Thank you so much Dave for this trip down memory lane 🤗💐🌸🌺
Thanks for putting this together! Priceless. I wish TV was still funny and entertaining. Watching this video makes me happy...and sad.
We loved watching GG back in the day. One of the best TV comedies in years
What a great show! I think many of us (from all generations) continue watching them! So many laughs and what friendship means!

the condoms episode also! when they are buying condoms at the store before going on a trip with their SO's and the clerk does a price check for the condoms on speakerphone in front of the whole store 😂
"Calm down, lady! What did you just get out of the pen?"
Two armed Pinkerton guards.
I have never met this woman in my life
And Rose got the all black ones. 🤣🤣🤣
Yes! That was definitely one of the funniest!
"I have the same jacket." Ohhh Dave 😂 🥰

I love them so much! One of THE best sitcoms ever made! Whenever the world gets cold, my girls always make me feel better
After a weekend of babysitting my niece and nephew, I got them obsessed with it! My sister often finds them watching it first thing in the morning 😂
I LOVE this show! When I was a little girl, my mother and I used to watch this show not only for the comedy, but to see Dorothy’s horrid fashion! Each character was loved. May these beautiful women, rest in peace.
My God! Those episodes are priceless! And the girls are too.
Golden girls was a classic as i grew up in the uk❤ love the show
Loved this show. My late mother and I watched every episode. Now me and my daughter watch it. She loves it as well.
My favourite one is where Rose explained how her husband died. She said she knew something was wrong when he said “I’m going, I’m going!” 😂😂
My favorite was when they were sitting at the kitchen table talking and Rose talked about how the bull would have been jealous of Charlie. It was hilarious.
Blanche wanted more information about Charlie. 😅

Seinfeld copied some stuff from TGG

Thank you Dave. Loved this. Tears and laughter.
So sad that everyone of them have passed. Bea was my favorite but they were all so good.
