Remember Kurt Waldheim was secretary general of the UN from 1972 to 1981 and worked for the Nazi Wehrmacht as well as was a collaborator with the S S, for the was part of the intelligence service of the Nazi Wehrmacht.
The Soviet Union knew of his past and "filibustered" the candidates available until they got Waldheim as secretary general. The Arab states also voted en masse for the ex Nazi.

Professor Dershowitz, I have been following you and immensely respecting you for at least 25 years. Although I sometimes differ with you politically, I deeply respect and admire your allegiance to the Constitution, your honesty and your unwavering adherence to your principles. I also understand your roots in the Democratic Party, just like I understand the reasons why American Jews have voted for democrats historically. I am one of the Tribe. However, that Democratic Party no longer exists. In fact, the current party that inherited that name (and nothing else) has turned into a party of unapologetic anti-Semitism, reverse racism, identity politics, anti-freedom of speech and anti-American socialism/communism. Unfortunately, as much as I’d want all that to be a fluke, it is not. It is a trend and, more likely, a completed conversion that isn’t going to be reversed in a foreseeable future. However, most Jews continue to vote for that party. It will take a very strong leader, a Churchillian figure, to change that by his/her own example. I can’t think of anyone else, other than you, who has that potential. Therefore, I respectfully urge you to make that historical step and lead the Jewish community of this great country in giving their votes to those who stand for freedom of speech, the Constitution, the MLK principles of equality and meritocracy, patriotism, and who have proven to be best friends of Israel - the GOP.
