- Hains is great to fish, workout, hangout and bbq with friends and family. It is a big park and free of charge to enter and park. Depending on the season you fish you can catch rockfish, white perch, shad, carp, and catfish of course. Becareful of the golf course in the middle of the park, they can hit your car or even you.

Had a lucky day at Sandy point last Saterday. Caught over 60lbs of catfish. (5 large, 2 medium, 1 small. largest being 16.5lbs) (11.7lbs of meat after only tanking the flank fillets and removing skin and red meat.)

Thanks bro! You should definitely get back out there, especially hains grab some friends to bbq hang on a hammock and let the rods soak on a weekend. Cant get any better than that. Ya I take a few for my friends to eat here. I dont think it's that bad since it's a running river. There's some parts that are near sewage aquaducts that I stay away from too much mercury.

I figured he did. Have put Channels and Blue Cats up against Rockfish alot and the Catfish always come in first. Lard at 360 degrees and a dry rub

Where do you buy lard from? I'll have to give it a try! Also I think rocks taste better on the grilled than fried. For catfish definitely can only be fried, but someone told me smoked was good too?
