That's great that you are planning on pursuing a masters, Ruby! What are you going to study? Also, you are right about relationships. You don't have to be in one just because everyone else is. It also has to be with the right person at the right time. You are still young, you don't need to rush.
Hello Ruby, I just wanted to tell you that you are such an inspiration to me. Since we started the university (we started the same year) I got so motivated thanks to you. I wanted to study and I loved it, but I had to do many of the essays with other people (group essays where everybody gets the same mark even if somebody hadn't done anything) and my relationship with the other girls that are studying with me was not good at all and many times I found myself crying and feeling really bad because having no friends and being bullyied in class. And many times too, I found peace and motivation to go on thanks to your videos and your Instagram posts. I wanted to thank you so much for all, because you wouldn't know how much impact you've done into a person until they tell you. Thank you Ruby ❤️ I hope you have a great day and Merry Christmas 💕
It shows growth indeed! Sometimes I think people might be jealous of you. It takes a lot to put yourself on here. I wish I’d of had somebody like you when I was younger because you can feel very alone when you are introverted and young and don’t have the same interests as other people. I enjoyed your book actually, even though I can see what some people mean . Have they written a book? Probably not!
You are so well spoken and I just love hearing your perspectives on life! Thank you for sharing and especially for talking about mental health and therapy and helping to destigmatise it! 💖

It was really cosy to watch this video whilst wrapping Christmas presents myself :-) Don't be too hard on yourself about getting published, it took me some years but now I'm a published (childeren's books) author. I've never really thought about using trains for "travel". Once every couple years I take a 4-hr ride to Seattle for a fun weekend but it's just transport, but I recently talked to a woman who has travelled with friends on a train all across Canada and said how it reminded her of the fjords in Norway and there was so much beauty. Now I'm excited by the concept.
Re the 'do you read romance' question - as a kind of 'bridge' between novels written during the period and modern romances, I suggest to anyone to try Georgette Heyer, if you haven't - and even if you think you won't enjoy romance as a genre. My personal favourite is 'Friday's Child', which is just such a sparkling gem of a romance, written with brilliant 'of the period' dialogue and genuinely funny moments too. One of my favourite ever books.

Many people feel like they Need to be in a relationship because it is easier. It is easier to pay the bills when you have a partner, it is easier to share your frustration with the world, when you have a partner, it is easier to live when you can rely on someone. But you have all that within your family so you don't Need a partner, but only the want can bring one to you. For the regular person life is very difficult if alone in the world, so many people are in relationships just for financial reasons, or because they are otherwise lonely. Ruby is doing the right thing by focusing on herself and just enjoying life how she wants. Financial stability and having a great family is something most people have never had. Being in a relationship is socially imposed, but is not for everyone or doesn't have to happen on purpose. Most people have never had the time to spend by themselves and actually find out who are they as people, to explore the world and not just another human being. It is a privilege to be able to that though. Same with kids, everyone is saying that one should have them, but in reality noone has to do it, it is a matter of want, not a matter of must or need. Society has it's eyes closed for it's individuals and individual needs.
Hello ruby! I just received the Yearly Planner and its wonderful! I cant wait to use it in 2023, i love all the cute designs and the whole woodsy theme! I love everything about it, but there is just a small problem i thought i should point out. The contents page seems to be incorrect, i think its meant to be for the academic planner. I dont really mind, but just wanted to let you know since in another video when you introduced this planner i noticed the same thing in your copy. But that aside the planner is wonderful, and it came so fast from overseas too!
Hi Ruby i don't understand everything that you say on your videos yet cos I'm a brazilian citizen but I really like to watch your videos... May God bless you and your family 🙏
Self-publishing is getting published. I have written two books in two years and working on the third in the series of 5 book series. Just to clarify: amazon is an amazing opportunity to get published.
I let things happen in my gap year and I think it would've been better if I had a plan and not a list of things I could do, if I had committed myself to some workaways, big trips and a longer language immersion course or two I would have known what for and how much to work (which are rarely fun and well paid as a then 18 year old) so firstly workaways are a good option at that age as opposed to only travelling and doing courses that cost money and second of all it would have forced me to actually leave my boyfriend alone more once in a while. (A place of my own (with my bf) would have been nice but would unfortunately have been impossible.)
my family live in the highlands of scotland in Fort William! and i couldn’t recommend the place more if you want to travel by train and don’t mind a long journey, it is so beautiful and you can get the Jacobite to Mallaig (the harry potter train!) but it runs in seasons, it would be amazing i think you’d love that! i love your videos and i’m a uni student at the moment about to visit my family there for christmas and i’m so excited, keep doing what you’re doing
I love Ola Gjeilo!! (I've heard it pronounced similar to "yellow," but that might be wrong!) My choir actually got to work with him a couple years ago. I love his pieces, especially Tundra, which I got to perform several years ago. I listen to it every year on the first snow!
I can relate sooo much with the relationship question. When I say I don't want to be in a relationship because I'm not built for that, people keep staring at me like I just confessed a murderer 💀
If you like Ola Gjeilo, might I also suggest Christopher Tin? He very recently released a new album - The Lost Birds -, which are classically composed pieces, set with lyrics of texts by Emily Dickinson and Christina Rossetti, to name a few.
Ruby, the Candlelit tea is amazing, my 18 yr old son loves it too. Would be interested to know the title of the book re living in your 50s that you bought your mum please x
I’m like you with books. I buy books and don’t read them straight away as I’m reading books on my kindle at present. I read a lot of Jane Austen fan fiction and when I found out I can buy them in paperback I’ve become a bit addicted to buying them. I also pre read for an author as well which I loved and read in 3 days. She sent me a signed copy of another book as I had already brought the book I pre read once it was available to buy. I blame my mum as she used to leave me in our local bookstore when I was little. Sadly it doesn’t exist anymore. I’m trying to go for a shop my bookshelves start to the year but the temptation to buy a book is already there. I usually buy them in the last week before payday if I have spare money left in my account x
I went to look up that artist and the composer is a male. In the video I think you said she. It seems like there’s multiple singers but the piano composition is his.

Ohhh the cosy vibes!!!
I noticed this as well! I probably won't be looking at the contents page much though to be fair so it's fine
@@theodorapantelich2535 same!
2 videos this close to each other! giving me some sort of calm during my family emergency so thank you ruby our channel is a place of refuge for me
Hi Ruby i don't understand everything that you say on your videos yet cos I'm a brazilian citizen but I really like to watch your videos... May God bless you and your family 🙏
@RubyGranger8..... Ruby granger 8??? Is that right?
you're a gem, ruby
Self-publishing is getting published. I have written two books in two years and working on the third in the series of 5 book series. Just to clarify: amazon is an amazing opportunity to get published.
I forgot to mention a cool fact The Boston Tea Party was on December 16th. Jane Austen's birthday. Different years but the same day.
(A place of my own (with my bf) would have been nice but would unfortunately have been impossible.)
this is so lovely 💞
my family live in the highlands of scotland in Fort William! and i couldn’t recommend the place more if you want to travel by train and don’t mind a long journey, it is so beautiful and you can get the Jacobite to Mallaig (the harry potter train!) but it runs in seasons, it would be amazing i think you’d love that! i love your videos and i’m a uni student at the moment about to visit my family there for christmas and i’m so excited, keep doing what you’re doing
I love Ola Gjeilo!! (I've heard it pronounced similar to "yellow," but that might be wrong!) My choir actually got to work with him a couple years ago. I love his pieces, especially Tundra, which I got to perform several years ago. I listen to it every year on the first snow!
Ola Gjeilo is a Norwegian composer and pianist most known for his choir arrangements. Basically a white middle-aged dude🤓🤓
Yeah i do feel weird about not wanting a romantic relationship . Its validating to see someone who shares my sentiments
Such thoughtful gifts and wrapping x
I'm curious about what you want to study for masters.
Yesterday I made jasmine tea with coconut milk and maple syrup to sweeten.
TITANIC NERDS UNITE. Yaaaas. I totally agree!!!
you are such an angel xx
I can relate sooo much with the relationship question. When I say I don't want to be in a relationship because I'm not built for that, people keep staring at me like I just confessed a murderer 💀
You have the preetiest voice ive ever heard, so warm and peaceful
Loved that you mentioned you are not looking for a romantic relationship, you love Scotland and trains!
I enjoyed the Qand A ,and the present wrapping
Will you be doing a what I got for Christmas this year? I missed it last year!
It's past Christmas, but you should get your grandma 'Bird Bingo by Magma'. It's a really cute game and seems like a perfect gran gift!
Cozy time ❤️
Yeah I should probably get round to wrapping some presents 🙈
This video really helped me feel the Christmas spirit more thank you for that ❤❤
Ruby is there a link for the glass teapot you use in the beginning please ?
If you like Ola Gjeilo, might I also suggest Christopher Tin? He very recently released a new album - The Lost Birds -, which are classically composed pieces, set with lyrics of texts by Emily Dickinson and Christina Rossetti, to name a few.
"Who is John Galt?" - a pretty good opening line
I love The Boy, the mole, the fox and the Horse too.♡♡♡♡
Ruby, the Candlelit tea is amazing, my 18 yr old son loves it too. Would be interested to know the title of the book re living in your 50s that you bought your mum please x
Can’t wait to see you take Master in September 2023 xx
Love your videos!!!
Lol...im wrapping presents also while i listen & sip my iced coffee. Im not getting a ton done either....but that's ok.😉👍
Rubyy, you mentioned in a video sometime ago a book about acknowledgements in books and I can't remember the title! Does anyone remember it???
Once again to Zelda ❤️
@@RubyGranger8 thank you so much ❤️ and merry Christmas xx
