    Wow!!! It's very cool! An incredible combination of ancient history and the simple old and proven method of carp fishing! Incredible vibe!

    Lovely film, really brought home how lucky I was to catch wild carp growing up. The pool if you are interested in checking it out is Apley Castle Pool, Telford, Shropshire, controlled by TAA.

    Another wonderful film, fascinating to see the carp take the bread off the top in those ancient pools. A lovely setup too, thank you for posting.

    I have just found your site and watched Wildie II. I would like to compliment you in producing such an atmospheric and sensitive film.
    Far removed from the modern concept of angling, and very much in tune with my own, that there is more to fishing than just catching fish.
    I look forward to watching them all.
    Thank you.
    Ronnie.

    A beautiful atmospheric video with a great score to go with it. It wonderful to see small ponds and simple tackle producing stunning fish, and an angler happy with quality not quantity.

    Wonderful! Those amazing mirrored wildies at Minster Abbey were extraordinary. And the darkness of the little wildie in the final pond. I think I recognised that little pond in the castle grounds at the start. It was "no fishing" when I stayed on the estate a couple of years ago, but the river held some lovely tench.

    A lovely video! I've always wanted to catch a true 'Wildie', I often see venues state on their websites that there are a few Wildies amongst their stocks but this is almost always a misinterpretation of what I'm actually looking for, instead they're are more of the attrition king carp that have become forgotten in the water. Not a Wildie. But you have found some gem locations here, I hope they stay protected. Thanks for sharing the experience.

    • @FallonsAngler
      @FallonsAngler  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a hard thing to define, a true wild carp is probably not present in Britain, but descendants from Europe certainly exist, and are not from the king carp strain. Feral carp are probably the best way to describe them and can be found here in Britain.

    • @momentsinanglingessence855
      @momentsinanglingessence855 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Interesting, thanks! Well the dark one he caught I'd accept as near enough for me! It's different enough to be worthy of putting the time in. I hear the higher lakes of the lake district has a few questionable perhaps ferel strain Wildies in there, I believe Carl and Alex managed to get permission to fish one and made a video. Anyway, I love your narrations Sir! and the compositions of your videos are the closest thing to Passion for Angling I've found. I'd love to see one about Big Rudd from an old estate lake with the same approach. Tight lines!

      I think what Dan shows is with a little homework there are plenty of great places to fish without relying on commercial fisheries.
