Did this upgrade for 2016 XTS. Very simple install and it is working fine for me. I’m actually very thankful to 404 parts for making this available as I was very disappointed that my old charger didn’t work with my new phone and the cost was not prohibitive either!
I did this upgrade! Thanks for the instructional video - was easy too! The new wireless charging came already mounted to a bracket that let the mat sit flat on top.

omfg, I seriously thought my cue unit was defective or something because I could never get the wireless charging to work with my Note 10. I also figured this upgrade would be a difficult one but it looks surprisingly easy. Thank you so much for this, I'm definitely gonna be getting this upgrade!
I was never able to the OEM unit to work so I bought this upgrade as soon as I saw the video. My upgrade for a 2017 ATS was easy and, since I had already removed my OEM unit, took about 5 minutes to install. Works faultlessly. Thank you!
I got my discount which was appreciated. A tip for smooth installation: use a small strip of duct tape to hold the screw onto the bit if you don’t have a magnetic tip.

I installed mine today. To bad it doesn't provide for Wireless Android Car Play. Still I'm happy to be able to store & charge my phone. I did cut out the two nubs and my large Samsung Galaxy smartphone went right in and the green light showed me it was indeed charging 🙏.
The Motorola dongle has good reviews by Cadillac owners that provides wireless Android Auto
@@JetFuelOnly ANY dongle of ANY kind is going to cause a loss in audio quality just like bluetooth. If someone isn't into high quality audio or a audiophile then it may not matter but for me and some of my producer friends it means everything. Especially if we decide to do the old fashion car test for our mix downs. 😉

Yes, apparently Samsung phones could charge but it’s much slower. This charging pad is 15w and the old one is 5w

Hey Daniel a little off subject but still and install upgrade I have CTS Vsport want to upgrade analog instrument to LED do you know anyone that has done this and were there modifications that needed to be done to the cluster for fitment

Daniel, just found your channel and subscribed. I have a 2017 XTS V-Sport. I’m excited to explore all of your videos to find tips that could apply to my model. If possible, please advise if any performance mods (same twin turbo 3.6 with 410hp instead of 420hp) are compatible with the larger XTS model, thanks.
The only performance mod worth doing is tune. I believe Livernois has a tune for it.
Jet Fuel Only I emailed TriFecta. They only support the non-turbo XTS, not the V-Sport. Go figure. Maybe it has something to do with the AWD set up with a 6 speed. Yours is RWD and an 8 speed. I’ll check out your recommendation. Thanks.

Jet Fuel Only Thanks, very impressive. The tune costs $600. I need to call them. My laptop is a Macbook Pro. This tune only supports Windows.
Michael Lindquist all tunes are windows for the most part. I use a Mac and run Parallels and it tunes fine for Trifecta. You also have the option of booting up in windows using Bootcamp. You can get a copy of windows and no need to activate. Let me know if you need assistance

If the phone fits the dimensions I listed it should work. But your 2018 XTS should already have the updated charger and mat

If you have a Samsung phone you can probably still get a little charge with the old setup but the new charger is 15w rather than 5w and the rubber mat is of course bigger.

I have a 2016 cts 3.6l luxury, and it has the wireless charging option but I've tried my iPhone 6s and my Samsung s9 and my Samsung s21 and none of them charge. Will this fix the issue?
Does it have the large charging pad. The one that fits bigger phones? That’s how you know if you have the new one I think.

Danial, 404 now has the conversion available for the 2014 cue, they have a wire in cord and also a plug n play cord for a few dollars more... hit them up, I'm kind of interested but I think my phone plans may make this impossible since I currently have a Samsung galaxys10+ and am looking at the note 20 ultra for my next phone.

I have an S22 Ultra. It might be a tight fit, or no fit.
It should work for you i double checked. But i don't know how big your case is. You might have to remove it for charging.
Remember the hinges still need to close on that hidden compartment. Hope this helps.
Hello there!! Just made the installation of this upgrade but after I put it in and starts the green battery logo in the screen, its flash away... not even 2 seconds charging!! Is it normal? Is it still charging? Thanks for your support
You should contact the seller. No that is not charging if the lighting bolt goes away. Make sure the case is not too big and the phone is position properly over the charging spot.
I absolutely love your videos. But at times I get a bit annoyed,because you only cover certain Cadillac models,never the SRX. Can do some videos on the SRX models or are you more comfortable doing just the models you like? 😊
Thank you, but the reason is that I don’t own an SRX and don’t know anyone with one. The CTS and ATS share so many similarities that the videos often apply to both. :(

Is this actually a useful upgrade for iOS users, considering forum users are claiming that Apple limits all non-Magsafe chargers to 7.5W? That's not worth $190.
You don’t need it to charge that fast in the car. Just keep it topped off and slowly charge while using high power apps. The USB in your car isn’t going to charge very fast either
@@JetFuelOnly I can't argue with what you prefer obviously, but I disagree with your mindset. I want to recover as much battery charge as possible to carry me through the next event--it could be 10-12 hours before I see a charger again. The best wired car chargers will do 20W (4A @ 5 VDC) whereas the wireless chargers don't account for losses (which is negligible in a corded setup). Wireless charging is typically 50-65% efficient (factors include antenna design and coil-coupling coefficient aka how correctly you position your phone) so it's 2.5-4x faster to use a corded charger. Would be worth testing though.
Salesguy at Stealership trying for several minutes trying to show me how this Wireless Charging thing worked, even though I said not to bother as I wasn't interested. It never did work cause my phone is a 6 plus. I guess if I want to charge it, I can run a cable from the Rear USB Ports which aren't Data Capable as I don't want the Phone to Hijack the System. Apple removed 95% of my Songs from the Phone, so I use a USB Stick. No messy Apple Interface either

Should be the same if you are already equipped with the old wireless charging. If you don’t have charging already they don’t currently offer an upgrade.

AMAZING upgrade but theres NO WAY that my LG V60 (BTW still better than the Iphone 14 Max) will NOT fit in that cubby no matter how large you made that tray! LOL. And i have the Speck case which is very THIN (BTW best case i've EVER bought from any company). I've dropped my phone 100's of times and my phone never cracked and still works fine. But yea this upgrade is a no go for me. And i'm NOT giving up my audio quality 4 mic/4 speakers/ Quad Dac to downgrade my phone to an iphone. Plus i can shoot in 8K....I own EVERYTHING apple but their phones are a gimmick. 🤷♂
