Hi everyone! I've done a random drawing for those of you who followed instructions to win the VSport carbon fiber license plate frame. The winner is Bluemar! I did this install today and whIle it wasn't the easiest mod I've done, I was still able to get it done with Lee's guidance. There are currently No videos showing an install to a ct4 (or videos showing any mods install on ct4), so this one is the closest you'll get. I'd say it's about 85% the same. A couple notable differences and I'll list them below. 1. On the A pillar, you'll need to remove a 7mm bolt securing a tether to the trim. 2. To the sides of the center high mount stop light are round plastic clips that will pop if you apply pressure downwards. I was lazy and did not undo the drivers side c pillar. But if would have given me more room to work with without having to worry about creasing/folding 5he headliner. Probably would have made the install a lil faster too. It took me doing it by myself about 5 hours and that's including the time I went to Lowe's to buy a small ratchet so I can get it in between the headliner to take off the 10mm bolt to the fin. I love this mod as I have very dark rear tint which I can barely see out at night drove around just now and live being able to see what's behind me. When I was finally finished with the install I noticed there was a small gap of maybe 1mm between the new fin antenna and the actual roof of my car. I check with Lee to see if this is Normal and Was told it is and it would be fine as long as I tightened dOwn the bracket below. Which I tightened snug til it won't go any further. Theres foam that should keep water out. Keeping my fingers crossed that it won't leak. I hear others about how their eye can't adjust to video quickly or something ? I did notice that when I needed to look at the video mirror bUt it only takes a second for your eyes to focus in on the image and it's really not a big deal for me. I have the stock rear view mirror camera on my 2017 CTS which came as an option add-on. In reality at night it is virtually worthless due to the glare of the headlights behind you. During the day it does provide a much wider field of view!!!! Great Video..!!!!! You do such a good job with all your work...!!!
Appreciate it... This video really comes in handy, as I have to replace sun shade, tighten bolts for sun roof creak, and now add this rear view mirror... 😂

Some of the vehicles Jet Fuel works on are significantly easier to disassemble than vehicles that have not been taken apart. At 5:00 that lower clamshell will not pull apart even with great force unless you bend the shell with both hands to disengage one of the retaining latches. At 5:15 that "Y" shaped plastic piece is impossible to pull out by hand because it's retained by a unbendable metal mirror tab. To get it to pop out, you need to come in through the side at the tip of the "Y" with a spudger or non-marring screwdriver and twist at the gap (note: you're not spreading the "Y" you're forcing the plastic piece to separate from the mirror along the slide rail). Additionally, there is no point in putting the plastic piece back because the newer mirror does not have a tab to retain it. At 5:40 the mirror does not come right out--you'll have to twist, alternating clockwise / counterclockwise while applying steady pressure to coax it toward the top of the roofline. After 6-10 cycles it should start moving--attempting to pull it straight out will not budge it. Finally, all wires should be wrapped with Tesa 51608 tape to avoid rattling.

This isn’t a cheap add on mirror with an stick on camera from Ali express, it’s a Genuine Cadillac part from the mirror to the camera and antenna. That’s the type of mod your Cadillac deserves!

I'd be very interested in watching a video on installing Alpha Mods' folding power mirrors, so I hope you can make one. It's strange the CTS-V had this feature in Europe, but not in North America. Keep up the great work, I enjoy your channel.
I have this, not your kit; but the mirror itself. One thing you lose is the depth perception of a real mirror. However; if you have to bring balloons in your car for a party or have passengers in the rear, it works really well. Also in dark areas where you are just trying to backup. edit: Just so I am clear the digital mirror can also be a normal one. You get the best of both worlds. I was only saying I prefer my normal mirror most of the time.
Hey man; great video and in future I’m looking to add this to my car; i have a question for you; i don’t have front sensors (base cts) can i add them (original) and plug them so they work with my cue system? Without additional wiring. Wonder if there is already plugs somewhere just to add them
Usually manufacturers have different harnesses for different optioned cars. Not sure if you could just buy the appropriate wiring harness and the main terminal may be the same. However, then you get to find out if the BCM has an issue because it’s not part of THAT VINs programming. So I’m not sure. I think you could do better by just adding a front camera to actually see the objects. Checkout Navtool.com for interfaces that allow you to add extra cameras.
It cannot. The reason is your camera for the mirror is in the rear appliqué by your backup cam. They changed it to the fin camera. An upgrade for you would require changing the appliqué to a single cam setup AND buy the new kit. Good news is you could sell your old stuff and probably get $400-500
You will need to contact Aloha mods about that. The actual antenna connection is separate so I doubt it would be any issue. The antenna needs to be installed obviously but the xm plug can likely be disconnected

I don’t think there’s an OEM way to add a front camera. However you can order devices from places like Navtool and you can add cameras.
