Wow. This one is going to take a long time to get over. I can't believe it. I saw the news on a website and I just stared at the screen for 15 minutes with my mouth open. We've just lost a sports icon. Shane Warne is one of the greatest cricketers ever. As a Brit when I think of Australia as a country I think of Kangaroos, Neighbours, Beer & Shane Warne. RIP.
He's literally the Messi of cricket. In every sense of that. Unreplicatble genius that inspired anyone who watched. Broke the sport he was so effective. Unlike many of the greats though, Warne was also one of sports greatest ever entertainers and characters. The enormity of this hasn't started to sink in.
To non cricket fans this man was the Leo Messi of bowling. Did things with the ball nobody else could and never have since. Inspired a generation across the world to try in vein to replicate his utter genius. Beloved by all countries as he never came in on sports tribalism and would support and love all cultures. One of the greatest of all time not just cricket but all sports. RIP you legend

The G.O.A.T. spin-bowler-ever to grace the game, and significantly, one of the legendary sports personalities from my era, Late Warnie was not just a fun to watch, he was a joy to listen, too. As an umpire I stood in several games that Shane played in from grade cricket to first class cricket and can say that he played the game very hard but off the ground he was always first class, loved to chat to anyone about the game. What a talent. RIP Champ.

But then googles shane warne..n saw a whole lot of sharne warne dead. Died of heart attack in thailand age 52..52!!! Wtf..way too young to die of heart attack..real tough for aussies a day after rod marsh.
