Combos in this game are very daunting if you try to learn the optimal stuff but if you try to learn easier combos the game becomes alot more beginner friendly
@@DioDCynic you can absolutely get by in fighting games with smaller combos if your defense is good and you are able to earn more interactions. A lot of people crack when on defense because all we ever push is offense. If you can take your turn and just keep pressing even with less optimal combos you can absolutely still beat people
@@DioDCynic what a scrub take. You don't need optimal, you just need good enough. Punish is just one aspect of play, and having more reliable conversions means more than optimal conversions. High level players will develop better solutions to more specific combos, but you're better off learning your bnbs neutral and pressure before learning how to combo someone at x spot in the stage off an anti air with y resources with a side swap.
My first fg definitely recommend for beginners. You have a lot of freedom to pretty much do anything. And, don't pressure yourself to do the 3500 hard combos. Definitely playable with just the bnb 2700~ intermediate combos. Pretty much you can do anything on pressure with your imaginative little head could conjure and in defense you have a lot of options.
yeah, especially since Smart Steer is really well designed (and even moreso in this game) it's a great game for learning how to play anime fighter neutral without worrying about knowing a super damaging combo to convert into in my opinion.
My thing about UNI is that you can mess around with your super-basic A>B>Cs w/o knowing too much about the mechanics but the ceiling goes up once you have to start learning about the mechanics like how GRD *actually* works and the best combos. What's gonna make or break you is that imo, every character hits pretty big in a literal sense, a good majority of the moves take up a lot of screen space so you can totally be aggressive but also expect to be punished pretty often if you're not careful. I think all this is to say UNI requires mad patience compared to most other fg's, to play and and to learn.
i'd say uni is a pretty good game for beginners. there's a lot going on but it's good at teaching fundamentals through its systems. you'll have a hard time finding a mechanic in a fighting game that teaches you how to anti-air quite as well as chain shift does. it's also just got fantastic resources for learning. the tutorial is really solid, just about every combo in the (expert+) mission mode is a combo that you will actually use in a match, the training mode has just about every feature you could ask for, mizuumi wiki is phenomenal, and the discord server is full of character and matchup discussion. the only real downside is just that there is a lot to learn but that also means there's plenty of room to grow and not get bored.
This game is good for beginners in that the combo system is very freeform and most things work so you don't NEED to do the optimal thing all the time and you can do something more your speed at first as you learn. But there's just not many people on the game so a beginner is likely not gonna find anyone on their level to fight and will be blown up all day.
also this is probably the hardest fg on the market that its like newish i dont count old stuff, if there is something harder rn correct me but this if it isnt its atleast on the top
@@JoseGonzalez-xd7gm Not sure if blazblue cf counts as "old stuff" considering it came out in 2016 but that one's way harder, but yeah it's up there anyways. It's not actually hard though, just a lot of more recent stuff like strive and granblue are full of baby mode easy stuff.
