    Maybe a silly question, cause i more comfortable with Motionbuilder. Can I import an animated character from Motionbuilder and use it as my main agent?

      oh Yes! You should be able to. I never used Motionbuilder, but if Motionbuilder can export the animation as FBX then in Houdini you can drop down a FBX Character node to import the animation rig. I show this in Part 2 of the Live Stream which was live yesterday:

    hey dude how are you so good with houdini !! can you make a tutorial of a boat in an infinite, stormy (big wave) ocean? With a moving fluid tank, inkl whitewater, and the fluid tank extending out to the infinite, stormy wavy ocean? or you know any tutorial like that? I really need that type of simulation

      That is actually on my list!! I've been meaning to do an ocean + flat tank combo simulation where you can use the fast ocean tools in Houdini and combine it with the Flat Tank flip fluid which has water collisions. I was planning to do like a city submerging from the underwater scene, but I just haven't had time to get to it yet. It will be the next next one. Because I need to finish up the backlog items with the SDF Destruction (the foot print one) and the modulus one. I estimate in 2-3 weeks. Sorry for the delay! It's coming!

    Q: I see some value to the agent/crowd stuff in a non-person non-animal scenario eg. space fighter swarm but I'm finding the Agent creation difficult as the Agent model seems very focused on rigge characters. What is the minimum path between 'SOP Spaceship' and something the Agent node will accept as a 'character'. The browser for the character seems setup to ignore regular SOPs eg. it won't take an arbitrary geometry.

      It is true, Crowds only takes rigged characters, if the character doesn't have a rig, crowds won't work. Before Houdini 18.5 came out with Kine FX, I tried to do a vertex animation character with Crowd simulations but it didn't work. This is one of the reasons why I was very happy when Kine FX released.

      @@bubblepins I may have been over-thinking this. the Agent stuff can pull in a FBX file directly and does not require a rig (so far). I still don't get why i can't just point it at geometry.

      @@adamglass2599 You can! Because Crowd Agents are meant for character rigs that have limbs and more moving parts, but for spaceships it may not benefit as much from the Crowd System. But the Crowd system is very optimized, it packs all the agents into packed data and when you play the crowd SIM it has very fast performance.
