If you hear a grinding or groaning noise while your vehicle is rolling, it might have a worn out wheel bearing. A worn bearing can allow the wheel to wobble, creating a host of other issues. To save yourself from more headaches down the road, replace your bearing right away. This video shows you how to install a new TRQ wheel bearing and hub assembly on your 2011-15 Chevy Cruze.

I just bought new brake caliper slide pins and the bolts are not 10 mm they're 14 mm bolts now
what if you don't have a torque wrench just a breaker bar
my new wheel bearings from this company didn't come with new axle nuts in the boxes at all
Outstanding! One of the best how to videos. I was not looking forward to this job but this video made it a snap. Only thing left to do that was not mentioned was dust the brake pedal with a microfiber towel!! 😂
All 4 of my tires, 2 front brakes & rotors and all bearings were bad on my Cruze. This video was a huge help.
What a treat to watch! Just facts ... no annoying background music or distractions. Thank You for sharing your expertise, TRQ!
One of the best instructional videos I've ever seen. No unnecessary chatter. Thanks.

Excellent instructions. I changed my driver side bearing. You made it easy
This was the best mechanical walkthrough video I've ever seen. You just saved me hundreds of dollars and now I have a new skill.
Best walk through I have ever seen on a DIY repair. Usually they only take you through taking everything apart and then just say put it all back in reverse but you walked us all the way through. Thanks! Really helped
Just replaced front passenger side bearing on a 14 Cruze. Followed this video to a T and had no issues at all. Thank You!
I watched both this video and the control arm replacement video this morning, just did both simultaneously. It was amazing, I had all the right tools ready to go and had all the advice I needed on how to handle the trickiest parts. Thanks for making my day go smoothly!
Love all your videos. To the point and having someone with a clear voice is well Appreciated. Keep up the great videos.
Your video is the best video explaining all the steps. Thank you!
Much better than the last video I watched, they took apart way more shit and I ain't got time for all that extra work lmao
Very good straightforward video. Just need all the gear you have to make it that easy. Premade hubs are a good idea in some ways. My old Holden Commodore did nearly 250k kilometres on the original hubs.Lot better than every 60k repacking
Great walkthrough! I have run into one little hiccup though... what model number are the hub bolts? I've searched everywhere online, and can't seem to find the correct bolts for my car.
Excellent walk through! Now to go parts shopping and see where this will go wrong...
So here's how it went wrong: Couldn't get the retaining screw out on the driver's side. Rounded off the Torx head, then tried to get it out with a screw extractor. The screw extractor snapped.
Ended up drilling out much of the head, then banging the rotor with a mallet until it bent what was left of the screw head and I was able to finally twist it out!
😩
@@TigDegner Glad I can help! I found out later that something called a hand impact driver would have been very helpful in getting that screw out.
Very good explanation
Great video, huge help. Thank you!
Fantastic walk through. Great to see a torque wrench on the wheel nuts to, an understanding far too many people dont seem to have.
I just bought these wheel bearings and they don't come with new axle nuts at all I replaced left front side wheel bearing and it's making a very loud humming sound I'm taking it to a garage tommorow morning hopefully this new wheel bearing is not bad I bought a pair of them have not replaced right front side yet
Anyone able to find replacements for the 3 18mm hub assembly(bearing) bolts?
I have a 2012 Chevy Cruze eco 17 inch rims disc on front rear are drum ? Everything I keep seeing says only works on 15 inch rims ?? What about the 17inch rims ??
Great video, thanks!
Very good explained,thank
Great video - any idea on if that spacer is needed for the ABS wheel speed sensor operator, mine is cracked in two, im struggling to find the part number - any ideas ?
How many miles were on the vehicle when the bearing went?
What torque wrench are you using? Can you provide a link to buy it?
The torque wrench near the end of the video appears to be a Precision Instruments PREC3FR250F Silver 1/2" Drive Split Beam Torque Wrench with Flex Head
What is the name of the spacer that goes on the axle?
Thank you for a great job with the work.
Shouldve geased the pins and back of pads. Before reassembling but great video
The website says it’s for a 1.8L 2011-2012 and 1.4L 2013-2015 Would it fit directly to 2011 1.4L
Can I take off the axle by hand without an impact gun?
Axle nut*
Put the new bearings on. Still hearing a humming noise that gets louder the faster you go. New tires, alignment was done with the new tires. No popping or clicking noises. Just loud humming at speed. Could it be a bad bearing?
+R R Hello I apologize we would not be able to diagnosis this type of issue here.
I have a similar issue and have a feeling it's my transmission although I am far from being a mechanic. Did you ever figure out what was causing the humming?
At 3:45 - What type of ratchet did you use to get to the top bolt on back side by the CV boot? My ratchets are too big to fit around the boot
I just did the job and see what you mean. I used a shallow 18mm socket with a 1/2" wobble extension. You need to go at it from a slight angle, which the wobble extension makes possible.
wait... did you switch vehicles at one point? the axle nut at the end looks old and rusty but you just put a new one on...
Would this be the same for the 2017 Chevy sonic ? From Everything I can see. It looks identical. And I need to replace mine and I’d like to do it myself.
Same way to take off and on but the actual wheel hub and bearing are not the same, which suxs ass it's a different part
Thanks
Is it a common failure for a Chevy Cruze 2015?
It's a "wear" item for *all* manufacturers not just Chevy
What’s the average cost for this per wheel?
If you're having a shop do it, plan for about $300 per wheel.
Brake caliper holding bolts are actually 74 ft-lbs + 60 degrees
Brake bracket, not caliper. You'd snap the caliper bolts if you tried that.
I have a 2014 Cruze 2.0 diesel with 17" wheels from the factory. Bolt pattern is 5x115. anybody know what hub assembly I need?
+Kevin Felix Thanks for watching! We do not carry the correct hubs for your model at this time. We are always adding parts to our inventory, so check back with us in the future!
Angle meter what? LOL OK, so if I don't have that, or know how to use that, is a regular torque wrench going to work?
Also, is it necessary to dissassemble the brakes? Or can they be taken off as a unit and reinstalled as a unit. I saw a video for the same repair on a Ford and they were able to remove the rotors with the brake calipers attached - just one move - then return the whole kit and kaboodle afterwards.
Also, thanks for this great video!
1. Watch video
2. Realize this is way out of my skill zone
3. Pay a real mechanic to do it for me
🤣
