Good review. It's important to note that the resort is actually being renovated through the end of 2023. I wouldn't let that stop you. We have stayed 5 times and loved this resort with its access to the other facilities as well! (Sian Kaan, Coba, and Tulum)
I would like to add that, unless things have changed, Akumal guests can also visit and use the Sian Kaan section as well. This didn’t used to the case, but in the last several years, yes. It’s about a 10 min tram ride across the highway and where the golf coarse is located. 🇨🇦
@@arnolda93 Akumal is at the beach, the rooms are bigger, most of the a la cartes are between Akumal, Coba and Tulum. There are 2 a la cartes in the Sian Kaan section. If you want complete adults only and a quieter, more intimate experience then I would choose Sian Kaan, which is in the jungle across the highway. The buffet is outstanding and the wait staff actually remember us as we’ve been so many times. But remember, Akumal and Sian Kaan can visit all four resorts, which we always do. So you can’t really go wrong either way. I will say Sian Kaan ‘s rooms could do with an upgrade but it hasn’t stopped us from staying there. For a change this time we’re staying at Akumal but will definitely be tramming it over to Sian Kaan a few of our days. Hope that helps, 🇨🇦🌴
5 stars from me. The best value hotel in Riviera Maya. The staff are friendly and accomodating, food is fantastic, 15 a la cartes, casino, sports bar and the weather is always wonderful. highly recommended
This is absolutely a fantastic hotel. Beautiful, clean staff are so friendly helpful and happy. I have been three times now. We have stayed on tbe adults only hotel side with Infinity pool which was nice as a couple. But all the other times we have stayed at Akumal. We are going to book again for a 4th visit. For the price, Beautiful hotel, food and amazing entertainment you cant fault it. The rooms are a little dated. But function fine. Always clean. Aircon works. One of the best hotels I have stayed in.
My friends just came back from there and one of them had £800 stolen from their hotel safe. Do not leave anything lying about in this place. It was a wedding holiday as well which makes it even more sad.

You can get it in the adults-only or another area of the resort. Google the resort for a map. There are lots of villas along the ocean!
