  • For this month's episode of 'The Review', Tom Scholey and Dave Roberts review a very special rod from NYTRO, the 'new kids on the block' in the world of fishing tackle. The NTR 10ft Commercial Carp Feeder rod can be yours for just £35, a rod everyone can afford. But is it a rod you really want in your armoury? Tommy Pickering is certainly a big fan! Lets find out if it makes the cut...

I have another great story in regards to my original comment, I asked on the Nytro facebook page if you could get spare spools for the NTR 4000 Reel as you can't find them anywhere for sale only the NTR 3000 and didn't get a reply so I DM them saying don't u reply to your new customers being a new brand and they said sorry and asked if I had looked about for them and I said nobody has them listed for sale anywhere, So they asked for my address and sent me not a spare spool but another brand new NTR 4000 Reel and invoice for warranty on it, That really blew me away and I was well happy as moneys tight after me having to quit work to be a full time carer after my wife suffered a subhacroid hemorage that left her disabled, Great story, Great customer service.

Makes me smile when the so called professional’s are more concerned that the tackle they use looks the part rather than how it performs. They place as much sway in looking the part as they do in functionality. The term “tackle tarts” is quite apt in this instance. 😂

Lol.. Yes I fully agree, the tackle tarts of this world are more interested in looking the part... despite the fact they have no idea how to fish as I see it many times on open matches.... In fact I'll go as far to say their fishing knowledge is about as wide as the line diameter they use.

If the guy in the next peg is catching more fish than you. It is not because he paid more for his kit.

I own one and the NTR 4000 Reel bought them as a package and I love them, so far caught carp to 15lbs no problem, Great value for your money if you can't afford all the top tackle.

There are a few manufacturing issues. but it is early days for Nytro.
I bought the Aryzon 10ft pellet waggler and the handle has been glued on at the wrong position. Still a very good rod though. I was surprised by it having a fair bit of power for its super light weight.
Also bought an Aryzon 3000 reel which was returned to the shop because the bail arm had sharp edges and was cutting the line.

I don't know how robust it's gunna be given that there must be a fair amount of resin in the cloth but heck even if you only get say 2/3 seasons out of it - wow and that price doesn't hurt too much if the rod proves to be a liability over time
One of my best float rods is a Sonik S4 10ft Commercial Waggler that I give £60 for about 8yrs ago and the it's prolly got the best silver fish tip section of any rod I've used (I'm a free spirit rod kiddie now)
Give them a try cos you'll be pleasantly surprised by them

You do wonder at the quality of the cloth and resins used in such a price of rod look at the cost of making it all the fittings paint job shipping vat mark up at dealers, profit margin etc etc made in China so you get what you pay for
