Thanks so much for having me man! It was an honor to work with you and I had a ton of fun working on this tune.
I hope we get to work together again somewhere down the line!
Alex Heflin
wow freddie highmore singin and playin the guitar ...incredible!!!
I would love to know what ukulele you're playing.
Take a bow brother, that was sweet!
i like this version better than the original and it's not easy to say because rubber soul is my fav beat album ... but the kinda jazzy tune you guys got there is just superb
Popular music has come a long way since the 1960s. The Beatles were pioneers. Musicians like Josh build on their work.
Yes It's good, but NO version will ever be better than the Beatles 😊💚
You should cover 50 ways to leave your lover by Paul Simon
Can I dare to say that you improved the song? The "French" interpretation adds to the meaning of "I need to make you see" in the lyrics. And that cat in the background... made my day!
very nicely done.
i could close my eyes an easily imagine myself back in the mid 1940s in some smoky french cafe. listening to a song about an english or american solider trying to tell a local french girl about his feelings for her.
you gave the song a great mood.
t0msan except this came out in 1965
jonnyalallen 1966*, he didn't say it came out in the 40s he's just saying that this rendition of it sounds like it could have came out in the 40s in France
Another fine interpretive cover, including a "French" feel by including the accordion, clarinet, mandolin, etc., plus a brief, but nifty, jazzy cut-time solo. Not sure what the criticisms are all about, perhaps that Josh and company have spoiled us rotten with years of quality TH-cam vids of acoustic splendor. Some people's brains are wired to notice what they think is "wrong". A strategy hopefully aimed towards improvement, but comes across as nit-picking. I enjoyed the heck out of this collaboration. Keep up the delightful work!
Love the French feel comment...I might add the "Django" guitar contributes to that feel. Just amazing, Josh. I can't stop watching your videos!
Agree. This is true art.
Personally I don't like this version. I don't doubt his ability. One of the best musicians around at the moment but I just don't like this version. We're all entitled to our opinions. Otherwise music would be boring. I don't expect everyone to love my music and I don't think many musicians would expect everyone to love theirs. Josh included. I'll just look forward to his next one.
I liked this and I think this is great. However, listening to it I think, if we are honest, if we compare this with the latest Josh Turner output he has come a long way since.
This version is absolutely amazing. I always come back once every few months to get my dose, thanks a lot for your lovely interpretation.
Best versión ever!
You guys got the "swing feel"
Modal interchange, etc. Congrats to each and everyone of You for tour excelent work, i'm musician too, i play the bass and guitar, and a little bit of double bass, cheers from México! Best regards!!
Tough crowd, I really enjoyed this one
There are only a handful of people that have tried to cover this fabulous song. Love what you did! Thanks to all of you!!!
the cat stole the show
Thats true🤦♂️
i've been thinking about my favourite beatles cover for a while now, a lot of the best were by this amazing person and his friends. but none really stood out as a clear favourite until i heard this. clean. classy. perfect
Really like the Django feel here and the pace change that he used in some recordings was done so well. Add to that, Michelle was one of my favourite songs and inspired me to give it to my daughter as her middle name.
Outstanding. Thanks sir for sharing this with us. A real pleasure.
OMG Josh another triumph. I'm reliving my youth & I thank you & your friends for the tour.
Everything beautifully and tastefully played and sung. Original and stunning arrangement... great use of different instruments. Wonderful recording. More duets please and thanks for this terrific music. Loved the guest appearance by the mog too!
REPLY
This has shades of French hot jazz!
Felt like I was in Paris on a wet autumn’s day.
Love it!
One of the best renditions of this song, including the Beatles version, ever. Outstanding job guys!

Your collaborations are genius. This was magic. So nice on my ears and very smooth. I give thanks for Josh.
Great! Love these clips, love your work. Keep this approach, it's important. All the best!
I've always liked your Beatles' covers but this is something else, one of my favourite tunes, 'tis the season indeed thanks for the early christmas gift Josh!
that tempo change halfway through the vid, that takes a lot of talent and practice to get that to work the way it did.
I've been aware of your work only a few days ago and I'm already addicted. Way to go Josh Turner and all your talented friends. ❤🎉😊
Well.... I guess brilliance attracts brilliance! The accordion works so well in this arrangement - thank you!
I rarely comment under videos, but man, I need you to know that you're an inspiration for me, in the years i saw your skills and style inprove in an uncredible way, i subscribed to you with my first yt account years ago and I still be inspired by you, just thanks for all, keep it up man, you rock
Amazing talent. Thanks
Great and beautiful guys
Such a beautiful arrangement
Stunning....the use of brushes makes this version unique. The organ hand held topped off the piece. Not to mention the excellent guitar and vocal control. Paul, i'm sure has seen this....
Magnifique reprise ,vraiment !
Outstanding performance by all involved. Glad to see you giving my home state some love with that shirt, Josh. Gotta let us know next time you’re coming to perform round these here parts. Would hate to miss you. ~ Mark
You had me at "Michelle," baby! (Obviously.) Superbe travail!
I am thankful for great music, a means to share that music, and for you, Josh Turner!
Merci à vous deux pour ce partage !
Most excellent
Much better Beatles adaptation, having fun with it is what is important, when you extend yourself and explore your resources you always come out on top. Trust yourself, just as Paul trusted himself! Well done both.
This sounds gorgeous
It's so easy to have percussion overpower everything but this is so good
Dear Josh, I love how you keep things simple and reduced, and at the same time bringing in a deep musicality and feeling
Your progression is endless. Great arrangement dude!
Just discovered Josh today, and am totally blown away by the musicianship, the combination of eclectic breadth of interest and great musical taste and discernment in choice of songs, and the egoless collaboration with a range of other great young talents (especially Carson- real magic there). Not only amazing instrumental proficiency, great pitch across a huge vocal range and flawless tempo, but something even rarer and more valuable, a fully formed soul and a passion that shine through in every performance I've seen so far.
I see a huge change happening in how people relate to music- in some ways I think we've come full circle from the days prior to the advent of the 20th century music industry. For most of human history popular music was folk music, and musicians drew from and worked in a tradition that was largely regional and culturally specific. In the melting pot of America, music was commodified and industrialised even before the advent of recorded music- from the 1880s to the 1940s popular songs essentially all came from the publishing houses of tin pan alley. The Beatles were hugely instrumental in changes that revolutionised music in a number of ways- not only were they a key force in the transition from the tin pan alley model to recording artists who wrote their own material, but they also shattered the barriers between genres, drawing musical influences, techniques, arrangements and instrumentation from everything which had come before, and was available to them in the recorded media of the day. The Beatles treated all of musical history as the folk tradition they were drawing on- e.g. the Django Reinhart/ Hot club of Paris jazz feel of Michelle- you can see Josh channelling Django on that Gypsy guitar here, and in other songs like "Sleep". In a similar way, I see artists like Josh and his circle, along with contributors to things like Post-modern Jukebox, and a few others as pioneers of a whole new model for music in a post-record company age where influences from the best of every genre and time period are available on tap anywhere anytime, (along with resources like tab libraries for us less gifted mere mortals), and where new technology has lowered the barriers to entry and made it feasible and affordable to capture recordings of performances. This particular one might not actually be my favourite among Josh's performances- it's a very well done version, but there's a genuine quality and an immediacy to the contrapuntal interplay of musicians gathered around one or 2 mics creating in the moment (like Sleep) that is very hard to recreate in a layered multi track recording.
That said, I am a skinflint cheap old fart (born a year or so before the Beatles first landed in the US). I am used to a bricks & mortar transactional kind of economy, and I have often perceived millenial snowflakes trying to monetize their vlogs and set themselves up as "media influencers" as just useless parasites. I think it says something about what Josh and his circle are creating that somebody like me is seriously making a patreon contribution for the first time.
Just listening to "Martha my dear" in another window now as I finish typing this, and it's an excellent example of the contrapuntal interplay I was talking about earlier. Bravo!!
Very nice voice and well played!! Thanks, I enjoyed it very much.
beautiful
Thanks for the cover! Very complex arrangement that wasn't created in one day..

Wonderful arrangement. The use of the instruments is great. Josh's voice is so relaxed, clear,& soothing. Great version. I think I like this as much as the Beatles version. Well done!!
Enchanting.
such a great cover
Your cat seems very unaffected by this performance. I however continue to be amazed by your talent and the talent you have surrounded yourself with. Yet another excellent offering
Cat: "Yo Josh, enough with the noise already. Can't you see I'm trying to roll around over here?"
A 'jazzy' interpretation. I like it.
Sounded and looked awesome way down here in NZ anyway, the sound sure travels well.
YES, I WAS EXPECTING SOMETHING LIKE THIS FROM YOU. THANK YOU JOSH!!!
Wow one of my favorite tunes. I once heard the first rule of covering the Beatles is don't. Once again you have flower in the face of conventional wisdom and Soared! The jazz vibe and accordion perfection.
Only needs one word. Amazing!!!
whoah the sound... so soft, i just love it
This is glorious. Love that mandolin - self built?! Industrious dudes. Well done.

I'm a newcomer to the fan club. Superb work. I did subscribe and am routinely listening to new and wonderful music, performed by fresh voices and fine instrumentals. Good job.
