It makes me smile to see two of my favorite TH-cam artists collaborate. Always great content from each of you. The fact that you did a Beatles track is an extra bonus!
OMG! I can't believe you guys got together, what a treat. Josh's covers of Martha My Dear and Heart of the Country are treasures. Such a voice, such musicianship. A genuine talent. Yet seems super down to earth. Excellent cover here too, lads.
Josh now (24.10.18) have 727k subs and I am one of them. How is that underrated? He is in duo Bygones with Allison Young. They both a wonderful, charming musicians able to make living from their art. How is that underrated? His videos with Carson McKee are phenomenal.
Musicians of their caliber cannot possibly miss appreciating the Beatles. The more I learn about playing guitar, harmonic structures, and music in general, the more the Beatles impress.
After 50 years enjoying the Beatles music, i finally reached the incredible conclusion that this Is the best song of all. And this performance is really good. Thanks a lot.
It's amazing how there is so little consensus on which song is best, maybe that means The Beatles have a lot of best songs. This one is definitely beautiful.
I am in awe at Joshua's fretting hand and the seemingly effortless range of motion he possesses. Obviously honed over years of playing. Gentlemen this was a beautiful rendition of a classic. Thank you!
I know! When he plays A over D chord, he uses his pinky. Gifted with long fingers because I've seen both Chris Cornell and Marty Schwartz play it the "easy way" including myself 😂 lucky genetics for some.
I know it's all been said about the Beatles. But those songs. They wrote this one. And then the voice Lennon found. (He and McCartney had a lot of voices). And then the arrangement. And then something special on the guitar. And then a brilliant bass line (unlike any other I've ever heard). And then vocal harmonies (unlike any other I've ever heard). And then the momentum and the crescendo with piano. And then the production. And the mystique of the group. And the backstory. And the sense of newness still after .. 56 years? It's all a little ridiculous isn't' it?
One of my favourites by The Beatles....George´s inventive, delicate and ingenious guitar solo comes to front stage when played on piano. Beautiful to listen to....
That was magic. The piano part was so beautiful, mesmerising really. Josh and David produced such a fresh, clean sound - every part clear and easy to hear and blending into one wonderful performance. Watching Josh play always leaves me feeling awestruck at the precision and depth of expression in his playing. It seems effortless but it must have taken countless hours of toil to achieve. Thank-you both for your wonderful work keeping great music alive.
I find it truly amazing that young players are still inspired, performing and recording music from my youth (nearly 60 years ago!). And that really was a very nice rendition. Make me wonder if your grandchildren will still be playing the Beatles!
Wow!!!!!!!! Two of my favorite youtubers playing one of the best songs of my favorite band of all time! This is a dream come true! Greetings to you and Josh!
I have been following Josh for years and it’s only right that a player like Josh meld with a player like David ! David, you are a rare talent, your dynamics are perfect and the subtle power you brought to such a classic song was unique and beautiful.. Josh never ceases to amaze me, but the way you two feed off each other is amazing .. Thank you both !
This is like a Marvel/DC Crossover I never expected 😊.. I’ve been a Josh fan for about 10 years but only came across David in the last 2 years . This is incredible please do more 👍
Wow guys! What an absolutely amazingly awesome cover of Dear Prudence!!! Very, very good. Just the 2 of you and an acoustic guitar and piano. The guitar sounds great as well as how it's played and the same goes for the piano. But once more I notice how great an acoustic piano sounds in comparison to an electric. Honestly, the 2 of you did in my opinion, a very good job! Thank you. Greetings from Holland. And David, thanks for the Beatlesquizzes too! 🙂
Wonderful, thank you! I love seeing and hearing people of all ages all over the world tackling the classical music of the Beatles--the way previous generations would want to try to play Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Gershwin, Porter, Berlin. I find myself listening with new ears, watching the fingers on the frets and keys making those glorious melodies and chords and vocals. Makes me realize yet again what an amazing achievement is the Beatles' canon of songs, inviting everyone to claim it as our own.
Bela cover desta bela canção! Beautiful cover for a beautiful song. Obrigado! Thanks! Best regards from Broad st... oops, sorry! from Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brasil.
You have now excellently covered my two favorite Beatles songs: Dear Prudence and Strawberry Fields Forever. All I can say is thank you and cranberry sauce to you. 👍🏽
Great performance! It’s such a testament to the Beatles that what essentially was just an album cut for them is arguably one of the greatest songs ever written.
Wow! What a treat. One of my favorite all-time Beatles/John Lennon songs. Just piano and guitar I'm able to hear so much more of the song. Brilliant. And Josh, again, your voice is the chef's kiss of this recording. I hope you, David, and Josh do more of these.
My favourite song on The White Album and maybe my second favourite Beatles song in general. Lovely cover, you guys should try Long, long, long as well, that song is an underrated masterpiece imo.
Very good rendering! I'm so happy to see and hear guys from your generation playing that music I was listening when I wasn't even you actual age! That prooves that it was good music. Very well played, the time is very good, the singing, the playing; wow! Chapeau! I was thinking: «OK, now... Glass Onion!» Thank you!
Josh, Your material is usually perfection. From the first time I heard you sing "Graceland" through every other video. With that said, imho, this one misses the mark.
An excellent interpretation of one of the best songs written by John Lennon, the guitar and piano complement each other perfectly. Alongside the version by Siouxsie and the Banshees, this is probably the best cover of this song I've heard.
Thanks for having me David! That day in Brighton was a highlight of my whole tour. Such a pleasure hanging and making music together!
It makes me smile to see two of my favorite TH-cam artists collaborate. Always great content from each of you. The fact that you did a Beatles track is an extra bonus!
You have no idea how exited i got when i saw your name on a David video title

This is why the Beatles music will live forever. 😂
my two favorite music TH-camrs playing one of my favorite songs from my favorite band. My day can't get any better

Same! What a treat! Those two together, and that awesome song.
Josh is one of the most underrated guitarists and musicians of TH-cam and I'm glad he's collaborating with you David.

Totally agree + a great songwriter. Asteroid Day my current favourite.
Oh God, what an amazing cover! The GOAT of music theory and piano with an absolutely incredible guitar player!
A great collab between two real musicians. Been playing guitar and piano for 40 years. Love to see fresh talent that's already put in the work.
I love seeing how younger generations keep celebrating this awesome band. Sounded wonderful, fellas
Musicians of their caliber cannot possibly miss appreciating the Beatles. The more I learn about playing guitar, harmonic structures, and music in general, the more the Beatles impress.
To paraphrase Mahler: the classics don’t preserve the ashes- they preserve the fire! Well done lads!
Woah!! Got Goosebumps hearing the guitar solo on Piano
😊😊😊
From an 84yr old "folkie" --simply enchantingly superb lads. I look forward to future delights!
Thank you!
i love the muted piano, never even thought of doing something like that, very clever
After 50 years enjoying the Beatles music, i finally reached the incredible conclusion that this Is the best song of all. And this performance is really good. Thanks a lot.
It really is a good song.
I've been listening to The Beatles since 1964, so that's ummm 60 years now! This is really good song of theirs, and is under-rated and under played.
It's amazing how there is so little consensus on which song is best, maybe that means The Beatles have a lot of best songs. This one is definitely beautiful.
The sound recording is amazing (and your performance magic, obviously)
Thanks 😊
