I think shadow never fully recovered his memory after the events of Shadow the Hedgehog with Black Doom. I think this video is kind of picking up those leftover pieces. He says the flashbacks triggered when he looked at the Ark. Also, the scene where he's falling in the red clouds, it has this visual moment where it zooms out and there's this kind of wound in the sky that makes it seem more like it's showing his broken psyche, and in the moment Maria gets shot it sounds like she's saying for Shadow to remember? Just some thoughts and observations :)

If your a real shadow the hedgehog fan you will know that really didn’t happen. All he was seeing is different timelines. Emerald wasn’t in the ark and that Maria got shot. All this is because sonic mess up time and the time eater is messing up everything
