Great job sir, but how can I kill mine without having to cut it down? Stripped all the bark last April (2018) up to 2 1/2 meters height. The thing still stands and had leaves all through last summer. I fear it will grow leaves again this spring. How can I kill it without having to cut it down? I don't mind the dead trunks as long as there are NO leaves and mess in the fall and suckers.
I have killed several small trees with Triclopyr herbicide. What I did was drill three 1" holes spaced around the trunk equally, low to the ground at a 45 degree angle and drill down as deep as the bit will go. Then you want to pour the Triclopyr into the holes until it runs out the holes. The chemical will be absorbed into the tree trunk. You will need to refill it about once a week. Do that for about two months and the tree should die. Triclopyr can be purchased on ebay and it is in the ballpark of $75. a gallon
