Main goal of these video concept ideas:
My main goal for these kind of videos is to be as creative as possible!
Let me explain:
Firstly, my very first channel Mixeli post tons of Gameplays from Every Generation (Which once again was played and recorded by myself in it's entirety. It took me many years of works.)
My video have Educational Value and let me explain why: It does provide help to the user who watch the video. One of the few example for that is which musics is played from my gameplays. It could easily be found on video cards (The exclamation mark "!" you see on the video above at the right) and vice versa. (This mean that on this video for example, you could also find my actual battle gameplays of where this music is played)
Secondly, My video are transformative enough, I took the time to play the game and recording the musics. I took the time to improve it's original quality using Vegas Pro. Thanks to a program called "Track EQ" that you can find on Vegas Pro.
This program allow the user to enhance it's original quality and further improving it. This need concentration as each version has different audio quality.
Thirdly and as you have noticed: On each Generation, I use different background that I bought on a website called Shutterstock. (Which I have bought at least 336 pictures background, just so I can become as creative as possible and also work on a lot of different style using those background)
This kind of concept was created by myself since 2011. Today it has become one of the main concept of my channel that I personally created.
Lastly is to bring the community together. I have noticed that so many people are commenting and giving their opinions on the video, sharing their experience about characters from the game, confirming theory, saying funny stuff and I find this extremely amazing and interesting! I don't want their comment to be unnoticed so I have plan for the future of my content about commenting and sharing their experience on videos that I will produce one day!

I hate this rivals with all my heart, but I think that even them would've been better in the Battle than Professor Sycamore's helpers (I don't know their name in English), that I didn't remember them when I played XY, so imagine how much forgettable they are
In XY there aren't many non-forgettable trainers (Diantha, Korrina, maybe AZ and that's all), but I want to know what was Game Freak thinking about to put those characters in SM. Even the rivals would been a better option

For everyone saying the rivals were too easy think about it like this, what rival GIVES you your first pokemon, what rival was with you going through your very first forest, what rival literally travels city to city with you just because they want to. They're not rivals, they're your friends.
i never got the "rival" thing, now being a outsider of the pokemon fandom. like after gen 2 they were mostly just your friends.
They being friends doesn't mean that they need to be weak
Honestly these guys are the best. I had more of a connection with these characters than any other Pokémon game. Lillie is tied with these guys and she looks like she could be part of this group.

People misunderstand characters, the reason Blue(or Green in the manga) was so cool was how overwhelming he was, the grandson of the professor, your neighbor, extremely talented and formidable, caught 40 mons when you could barely get 22, always 1 step ahead of you, and a frustrating cockiness, it wasn't being a jerk. Silver was a straight up criminal, stealing pokes, but he turns around in the end, the other rivals other then in Gen 4 and gen 7 aren't good at all either, but I personally find the gen 7 rivals very good, 1 of them even challenges you for the league title

The problem with X and Y was that there were just too many characters who all needed screentime and a chance to actually HAVE a character outside of, "I'm the rival" or "I'm the champion."
Sina, Dexio, Tierno, and Trevor could've been cut entirely and we could've had characters on the same level as Unova's.

But... But... I have to admit, I really liked Serena as a rival, she did her best to challenge me. The rest were lesser rivals, why is internet judging the rival system by them; there was one Main rival and they also added even more small challenges to make it more fun
I honestly prefer the minor rivals in this gen because I find them entertaining and funny. I don't get the hate either.
X and Y would have been better if you were CONSTANTLY traveling with/ interacting with each of your friends on an individual level. They were never any better than you, always trailing behind. Your main rival (Serena/Callum) even accepts that in the end. there were segments when you're by yourself for a long stretch of lime, and they could have had you learn more about one specific friend during them. Also Tierno was super pointless, because his "dancing" isn't prevelent in the game. At least your other three rivals had an importance to the game (although they were still way behind you in these fields),which was the pokedex, battling, and going an an adventure across a large region. If the rivals had more prevalence and personality and if they had more one on one time and character development than they would have been perfect and actually given off the "traveling with friends guide." But they're all so static. Friends have conflicts, and there was none of that. They didn't explore your main rival being agitated that you got the mega stone except for when Lyssandre asked out of nowhere. The could have been great, then fell short.

@@wx7692 I still stand by this idea. Gens 4 and 7 are actually my favorites, and I acknowledge they both have different strengths and weaknesses. Generation 6 could have gone for more of a road trip vibe if you came across you friends and did stuff with them more often. They aren't all interested in fighting, so it's not like you'd be double battling all the time. Maybe one needs help getting through a cave, or another got an important item stolen by a pokemon, or what have you. These aren't great ideas, but I'm just one person coming up with random ideas. Gamefreak could have done things way different.
Gen 6 would've been SOOOOO good if it wasn't so easy, and actually made us care for these characters instead of just forcing "development" onto us. Gen 7 obviously learnt from these flaws... Until Gen 8 came along and tossed all of the good from Gen 7 in the trash.

Gen 2 is the same but with more distance between the two of you.

At least they actually posed a challenge and weren’t just an annoying tag along who is always surprised by type matchups
I have to say, this is the best rival theme ever. Starts off intense, but in the middle it gets to that bell jingle, reminding you that this is a friendly battle, not a serious save-the-earth one. In the same sense as your rival him/herself. It's in it's own sense a competition between you all but everyone remains friendly.

They're ok characters in my opinion. I miss the smug motherfuckers like Gary and Silver. Yeah, Gen 6's rivals are nice support characters, but I feel they lack in the most important aspect about rivals: rivalry.

To think this game came out 6 years ago... I still remember everyone getting excited about the graphics and models that they had for the 3DS. Aged pretty well if you ask me!

So many people are complaining that we haven't had a tough rival with an awesome theme since Pokemon 2 (Gold/Silver/Crystal/HeartGold/SoulSilver); aren't you guys forgetting about Hugh from Black & White 2? Sure he treated you like a friend, but he was very rough with practically everyone else (especially Team Plasma)! Not to mention, his battle theme was awesome! Heck before that even, Barry from Pokemon 4 (Diamond/Pearl/Platinum) is apparently the second strongest Trainer in the series (in his final team in Platinum, Barry's starter Pokemon temporarily outleveled even RED'S Pokemon until the HeartGold & SoulSilver remakes fixed that)! So don't fret; the possibilty for rivals similar in behavior and difficulty to Blue and Silver to appear hasn't gone away!

NintendoVeteran85 Welp, that's how it is these days; with every new game, SOMEONE has to nitpick about SOMETHING, no matter what it is! Whether it be Mario, Zelda, Sonic, or Pokemon, not one game series is safe from people who act like it's their job to find something wrong with the game rather than enjoy it for what it has to offer! From what I've seen, only Kirby and Earthbound have a fanbase that is truly loyal to them. I practically never see them complaining and they appear to enjoy every game in the series. Why can't everyone be this way?

Funny thing is, everyone I know in person likes the games people are usually hating on, and after playing some of them myself (such as New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Paper Mario: Sticker Star), I think they're going a bit too far with it.

I loved these guys. Pokemon X was my first mainstream Pokemon game (before that I'd only played PMD Explorers of Sky). These 3 and Calem felt like proper friends, I didn't mind that they weren't challenging because interacting with them was fun. I especially loved the scene where you watch the fireworks with Shauna, it felt really special.

I'm sorry, but out of the 4 rivals they gave you, not one of them could be challenging? I get the whole game was easy, but Serena/Calem had only 3 Pokemon for most of the game, and even more annoying was that she didn't use the Pokemon she was given like the Kanto Starter or the other fossil you didn't choose. I get that Shauna, Trevor, and Tierno aren't supposed to be really into battling, but Serena/Calem were, and they were just so bad. I liked the other 3 for what they were though, they felt like actual friends, where as Serena/Calem just felt empty to me.
I would like Pokémon X/Y to have a Master Quest, where other trainers were able to do nasty things like using revives or changing pokemons; and limit yourself to have 5 HP healing items, 5 status healing items, MT to be used only once (like the old times), and Shauna/Calem's Pokemons levels not to be fixed: to be 5 levels above yours when you encounter her/him.
***** The 5 HP healing items and 5 status healing items... No. But I like the Serena/Calem level idea.

JoeDan54DX I got a better idea RIVAL MODE where you play as the side rivals a harder challenge mode the main person you played as after you beaten the game ( the boy or girl) will always be 5 levels ahead and have different things beside beating the champing like with Trevor you would have h the fully upgraded dex and you will have to fill in the dex any more ideas?

These were the best rivals ever imo. They were like actual group of friends. Nowadays you get rivals but they never acted like they were in a group. No more friends giving me nicknames :(

Glad to know im not alone. This was my first pokemon game i ever played. It started me on this franchise qnd ive played every one except HGSS and gen 5 so far. I know it gets hate but, this is a key memory for me
@@Summers-wq4fc I’m also glad to know I’m not the only one. This game is pure nostalgia for me. I experience a franchise I never knew about. I was aware of the series at the time and I have never watched it. After playing the games I decided to get myself a book of all Pokémon through Gen 1-6 and that’s how I found my soul Pokémon Porygon lol.
This game was unique because I’m not playing a protagonist that’s good at fighting or has super powers and etc. it was just a kid.
Then I experienced sun and moon which surpassed XY imo because of the story and new Pokémon. It was crazy because I never knew these games release new Pokémon with different forms.
It was when Gen 7 came out I realized that the regions were based on real life countries or something.
Pokémon Legends was a huge leap which overwhelmed me and I wasn’t ready. But I heard that Porygon was in it so I got it. Gen 8 kinda disappointed me but it’s dlc didn’t.
Here I am now waiting for Scarlet and Violet come out and experience a new region and discover new Pokémon in a truly open world and not sudo open world.

Anyone else think Shauna was too clingy? Idk why she made some of the game awkward. Like a BF/GF thing especially the Fireworks part I could have done without her dialog made it seem weird. Also every time everyone went away she stayed. Literally EVERY TIME! The only cool thing she did was give you her starters baby. (Saying it like that seemed odd).

This is still to this day, one of my FAVORITE Pokemon Battle Themes
The many rivals of this game were pretty weak in battle, with very cliché personnalities, yet they were kinda nice and the battle theme is nice to hear too.
It reminds us that rivals are above all friends and not foes to the player :)
To anyone who has a 3DS but hasn't gotten this game, or thinks it sucks, you are missing out on SO much awesomeness.
Rofl, I can relate to that. Month ago I was doubting if I should buy 3ds for pokes only, now I'm spending most of my free time breeding :D

weeeell thhey patched the lumiose city glitch aaand mega evos are really powerful and only 1 each game is ok because of that.also character customisation (sorry for spelling) but all in all looking past the "many" faults also there is more postgame then that sure its a bit short but pokemon is about the expirience and you seem a biiiit shallow also no pokeathalon? ok how about we give you the biggest town to explore. and why does everyone complain about the follow thing there is 700 pokemon. they probably couldnt fit 700 different sprites when they already put in 100s of sprites because of coustomisation and all the clothes. need more?

i respect your opinion but really? x and y didnt add much? ok let me list some... chain battling,riding on pokemon,sky battles, mega evolution, sitting on benches, 3-d cutscenes, Fairy type, 75 new pokemon, and thats just a few.

Thought on this, and i think the reason i couldn't give a fuck about the rivals in x/y and even, to a point, b/w, is cus theyre just too goody or passive... like the gen 3 rivals tbh. 1 & 2 gave you a sarcastic, harsh foe you wanted to beat cus it was SO satisfying to do so, and barry was just funny... yno.. an actual character... not a "battle with extended dialogue" like current gen

Fuck, I miss having assholes for rivals. At least you felt the need to be ahead of them. There was a reason why everybody always renamed Blue to some swear. I can crush Kim Jong Un, The One You Forgot About, and Brown Loli easily and they will still be my best buddy. Fuck, they even heal your pokemon. Silver would have just gave you the finger and walk away if your pokemon were hurt.
Think of it this way, Were the assholes now and they taught us well. I had more fun with the game that way :D
I actually liked Silver. He eventually got nicer until the point where he was no longer an asshole, but a semi-asshole. Good times.

Tierno is so underrated. I love his design and personality. He acts just like a real kid. Dude is hilarious. I really wish they did more with him and the other guys. I only considered your opposite the be the only true rival in the game. The other three are more like companions than rivals.
What I think they should do in Z:
Maybe in Z they can get rid of Tierno or Trevor and say that they decided to work for Professor Sycamore. Then maybe Serena/Calem could be more focused on and make them not like you at first because you're competition for the strongest, then befriend you. They could appear more often to fulfill their arc, and Shauna could help you, while not holding back on battles. She could appear a bit more and try to calm down the tension between Serena/Calem and you.
I gotta say when I listen to the X and Y music, it really does bring back great memories of my earliest days of playing Pokemon

I liked that there were more rivals and everything but, (I'm going to seem a bit sexist here) Serena and Shauna really annoyed me? This is taken from the boy's perspective, Calem I believe his default name is.
Shauna was way too bubbly and 'squealing fangirl' like throughout the entire game. I remember when there was the fireworks moment and she's trying to make it into an awkward romance session.
Then there's Serena, she wasn't as bad but what annoyed me was that she was so clingy? You always had to do EVERYTHING with her because you're her neighbor, and the fact she almost always calls you 'Neighbor' rather than the name you gave the character got to me a bit as well.

I concur. The term "rival" has kind of lost its meaning. Your Rival should be someone unpredictable, someone that will pop out of nowhere to take you out. All the friend-rivals are okay, but real rivals need to be douches, pointing out how they will get you next time and how your win was a fluke, not annoying praising friends that happily accept your superiority.
Basically, we need Green to come back.
I don't mind having a friendly rival but yeah, there definitely needs to be more aggressive competition.
Alexy Lionel I'd rather have someone to the likes of Silver. I find him better than Green, since Silver over the course of G/S had character development and showed care for his pokemon while being an ass to you.
Silver and Green are great examples of true rivals. No rival after them can compare. The closest you get to a proper rival in the recent games is Hugh.
I only said Green because he's the original asshole and Silver to me, was a better developed revamp of him.
Green cared about his Pokémon too though. I mean, he went to Lavender Town to visit the grave of the one Red/Blue kills.

2. One that equals or almost equals another in a particular respect.
Does it say that they always need to be a step ahead of you, be unpredictable, or behave like brats when they lose? No it does not. The term "rival" has not lost it's meaning, at least, not in Serena/Calem, who openly states that he/she is your rival and desires to someday pass you. Just because they praise you, doesn't mean that they have no merit in being called a rival.

Blue or Silver are good for rivals, friends though? Not so much, that's what May and Serena are there for. It should be one or two friends, and one major ass douche-bag of a rival, sort of like Ash during the Shinnoh region seasons, where he had Paul as that one true asshole rival.
Blue/Gary (whichever one works) has a professor as a grandfather, so eventually going to go down that road one way or the other, since he says he cares about catching more Pokemon than training, or shows it in a way.

Nostalgia attack! Man the memories of wen gen 6 was liked idunno why ppl hate xy the music's great actually decent villain good rivals AZs story had a awesome ending tho bad post game I'll admit cause the ending also this was my first pokemon game and now its underrated!? Srlly?
Cause it was a step down from their last game's, the DS era's gen 5, everyone was excited to see the jump into 3D with story's as great as Gen 5 but it didn't, it had no story, no character development, no post game, and no difficulty even without the exp. Share. It was sad excuse of a pokemon gave that just didn't live up to the hype the DS era gave. This also why people bash on games past gen 5 for being to easy and having no story etc, also why people consider gen 5 the peak of pokemon with the DS era in general being the golden era of pokemon

Fun Fact: According to most Pokémon fans, the rivals in Pokémon X & Y is the worst in the series. They are considered so bad that Game Freak never did a Friend Group as rivals ever again.
Until Sv came along and made them 100x better than their previous.
XY = Somewhat polished game, big in maingame content, low in postgame content, unstable rivals
SV = Completely unpolished game, big in maingame content, nonexistent in postgame content, stable rivals
This is the second best rival theme for me, probably because at some point in the music, a part of the “Friends Theme “ begins then the rest of the music continues then a part of the “Friends Theme” happens again and yeah..
The “Friends Theme” is also cool..
And maybe it has a different name but i just call it that, its when you and ur friends/rivals meet..

I'd Say the Rival theme from Black and White sounded like it belonged in a Mario & Luigi Game. This one to...kinda but it still got that pokemon feel to it.

I bought this game last year in march. It's the first Pokémon game I bought and played since Fire Red/ Leaf Green and I LOVE IT. I should really get into Pocket Monsters again :)
