It's worth mentioning that these experiments are carried out in ideal conditions, and we cannot know with certainty if this happens in real situations, but it is still useful information and super interesting. What I would recommend is to try it out and see if it works, but remember that these things are not absolute and they can be adjustable to one's personal situation... at the end of the day, we all learn in different ways, and this applies to any other learning method.

    • @muhammedsamman

@aaaquascaping9774 not really. This break allows you to recharge for a bit, and then get back to working with even more focus. Being neurotypical doesn't mean what you think it means. We still get distracted semi-frequently, we sometimes fall down rabbit holes, we absolutely take 1+ hour breaks when we intended for it to be 5 min, and we absolutely procrastinate like crazy.
Neurodivergence isn't nearly as big of a disadvantage (unless it's extreme) as you think it is. Neurotypical =\= no procrastination or getting distracted. Either that, or over 95% of the kids in my school are neurodivergent.

@@corsomaximahu69 I don't think this applies to assignments as well as to studying in general. Let's say you are writing your conclusion for a paper. It is a complicated thing and if you take a quick break of 5 minutes, it is easy to lose your flow and forget what you wanted to write.
When you study a summary of your notes for a test, then taking a 5 minute break doesn't cause you to lose your flow, mainly because what you are studying is already on paper. That's my take on it at least. For example, when working on an assignment like a research paper, it works better for me to just work for 4 hours straight and just take a break when eating breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc.

*God is ONE manifesting himself as THREE;* the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit! Bless him! *For these three are one.*
As I am led by the Holy Spirit, nothing I state is a lie, but the truth of God. Anyone who tells you differently is misinformed or a liar. They do not know God, nor led by him.
Anyone who *claims* to be a Christian and is against what I am doing, and where I am doing it; the Holy Spirit does not dwell within them, they lack understanding. They know not God, read his word, and their religion is in vain. Do not hear them, they will mislead you, the lost cannot guide the lost.

      @Call_Upon_YAH ปีที่แล้ว

When you trust in God and cast your cares (worries, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts) upon him, they will be NO MORE!
Know that there is power in the name Jesus Christ! His name casts out demons and heals!
The world is wicked, evil, and of the devil.
I too, was a wicked sinner of the world before I opened my heart to God. I am living proof of God's work and fruitfulness! He is an active God who hears the prayers of his! God's children are set apart (holy) and righteous. The devil is a liar that comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy; that includes your relationship with God!
Open your heart to God, repent of your sins (he will forgive you), and let him direct your path. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands and purify your heart, lest you walk with the devil and follow him to hell.

I changed my routine, concentrated profoundly for 20 minutes, attempting to remember everything that I had studied, and in fact, I invariably did. -Then took 10 minutes off and did something low-grade physical. For me a physical distraction was far more important than say, watching television or a non-physical activity. I put in fewer hours of study and my grades went up.

No, work and learning have completely different impacts on the body.
Standing all day at work will cause bodily problems, hurt your feet, increase chances of heart attack and blood clots. Simply playing a videogame and taking a break every 30 minutes or so just lets your brain learn the game faster.
And let's say we bring this break stuff back to work. The body doesn't recharge when you're doing work and labor. It's like saying your body will recover every 30 seconds after doing 3 minutes of a workout. You might feel better but you're 100% still worse, and exhausted, and depleting yourself

It can't be something where our brain processes information.
So this all are things like a nap, taking a walk in a nature setting, making a cup of tea etc.
You can adjust the break length to your liking, for some 5 minutes will not be enough to even visit a park/forest/lake/river/mountain/hill, whatever the spot is @ your place.
You can adjust the length of the burst from 30 minutes to a different time frame, or an end goal, or a point where your mind begins to show signs of being tired.

      READ THIS!!!
Luke 15:7 I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.
      🎉🎉🎉
Is it just wonderful to know that when you are saved, there is a party in Heaven. Just for you. That is how much you matter to God.
Believe in the Righteous Almighty God, and be saved.
Do you want to have a relationship with someone who loves you beyond any other love. Someone who sacrificed himself for you and everyone on this Earth the one who created the heavens and the Earth be creator of everything do you want to be saved. Do you want eternal life with peace and joy forever your answer is Jesus if you do not know who Jesus is read the following Jesus is the Son of God that came to this Earth to save the people of their sins. when God-created Earth sin same came into Earth and tempted Eve(The first woman) to eat the fruit that God had forbidden her and Adam to not eat. If they do, they will die. Not immediately, but death is certain. Eve ate the fruit and gave Adam some to eat as well. And he did. That showed that humans are sinners and not perfect. That is why Jesus came to Earth to save humans of their sins. This leads to a relationship with God(the main reason) and eternal life. He did that by dying on the cross. 3 days later, he resurrected. The story of Jesus is beautiful. If you do not already have a Bible, purchase one. If you do not have the money, pray to God about you wanting a Bible and if he could please provide one for you. This does not mean a Bible will come from the sky and land on your hands. Pray to God every day. But to not be blabbering that just say a bunch of words to try to impress and show off to other people or to impress. This does not mean long prayers are bad always pray out of the heart. Give thanks also when you pray. The Father (also God) sent his only son Jesus Christ to die for you. Rejoice brothers and sisters because your price was payed by Jesus Christ death.
      Acts 16:31
They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus , and you will be saved- you and your household."
      🎉
Jesus loves You, smile, isn't that just amazing❤😊🎉
Keep trying, no matter what problem that you face. The power of God can strengthen you, and help you, just turn to God
all glory to the almighty, and only God😊❤😊❤

Were the words the Baby said as i tried to start a conversation with him.
this happened exactly 4 years ago, when i was having my 5 minute break.
The Baby has brought upon me those otherworldly knowledge, which made me learn about the laws of time and space, the exact number of stars, and the last digit of pi. From then on i started to perceive things in a different perspective, further enlightening me and increasing my knowledge, until i finally had enough knowledge to know how to traverse time, it was only the materials that i needed. I once again searched for the Baby, to thank him for the knowledge he has taught me, however i couldn't find him. It was only a matter of time before i got the materials needed on hand. I have succesfully created a time machine that will bring me back to the prehistoric era, so i can teach this knowledge to our ancestors, to further develop the human society.
      Farewell to this world line.

I think it should be noted that the standard pomodoro 25/5 split doesnt work for everyone. For me I feel like my focus gets cut off and I haven't done enough meaningful work in the 25 min and something like a 100/20 split works a lot better for me. It varies person to person and I find it frustrating that they never address this.

Except there’s not a whole lot of “fun” things you can do in 5 minutes. As a result, that 5 minutes just turns into you thinking about having to get back to studying in 5 minutes and dreading it. It was always like cardio to me: hard to get going but easy to keep going once I’ve started. Stopping every half hour would mean I’m just constantly doing the hardest part.

Ah yes, I feel so recharged from my 5 minute break, I felt the pressure of a short clock the whole time and almost had time to make a sandwich. My friends love it when I call them, talk for 2 minutes, and then hang up every half hour. This break will totally recharge me and I will definitely not get burnt out from never giving myself a proper break. Not to mention how useful it will be to interrupt my flow every half hour of work.

Yeah I agree, i think unless you're shooting up cocaine in those 5 minutes you'd struggle to get anything 'fun' done in that amount of time.
I think his point still stands though that it's important to take multiple short breaks rather than one large one. Doing work for 90 minutes then taking a 30 minute break works great for me for example.

The only thing I can say is that do not do something "fun", it will only distract you and make you feel even more tired. Instead do something to relax your mind. Take a nap, walk, meditate, drink water or anything that soothes your mind and reboots it.
    Its tried and tested.
