Huey UH-1D last flight and landing in Bückeburg

Real helicopter sound again: Last flight of the Huey alias UH-1D alias Carpet Thumper in the service of the Bundeswehr and landing for the ceremony at the Bückeburg Army Airfield (Achum Airfield). This is the retirement of a German army legend Huey. The Huey was legendary because of the fast decision-making processes, the fast and extensive delivery and reliable technology. The video shows the overflight in the formation of 7 helicopters (1 x Huey, 1 x Tiger, 1 x H135, 1 x H145, 3 x NH90) as well as the last landing of the Huey.

Die Huey war einfach unverkennbar: im Klang, in der Form. Für mich einer der schönsten und klassisten Hubschrauber überhaupt. Goodbye Teppichklopfer.

Gänsehaut pur. Als Kind mit groß geworden, weil ich neben einem Krankenhaus gewohnt habe. In der Bundeswehrzeit als SaZ 12 bei den Panzergrenadieren viel mit ihr zusammengearbeitet und mitgeflogen. Ich werde sie und ihren unverwechselbaren Sound sehr vermissen.
