Zerg versus Zerg // Standard Macro Guide

A couple of things i didn't get to mention:
-the third drone for the first gas will be rallyed into the gas from the first inject so a drone that i make at 37~ supply
-you take the 4th-6th gas once your 3 mineral lines are fully saturated
if you are uncertain about the buildorder the Replays are uploaded to Mediafire here: www.mediafire....
-if you play vs a player that pressures you with Lings/ Lings+Banes make sure to always put aside 1-2 Lings somewhere on your opponents side of the map, so that you can scout with them as soon as you have time to do so
-if you play vs a quick third without a Banenest and an early Roachwarren also make the Rochwarren earlier
-vs an early RoachLing all in off 1 gas you can hold with LingBane only
-the amount of drones for Roach all ins are:
27Drone 1 gas
32Drone 2 gas
41Drone 3 gas
52Drone 4 gas
58Drone 5 gas
in order to defend those u can pretty much go to the dronecount the next all in would have (vs the 58 Drone one 66 drones and cancle additional upgrades and 4th)

I followed every steps (including the video showing all the cheeses) but I still die to hatch first where the enemy does only lings after his two queens are ready. With your baneling nest timing (around 30 supply) , I don't have the time to do any bane since the building isn't completed. And by steps I mean I watch if he's doing a queen at his B2 and then it's a gamble from then to the baneling nest + baneling formation. After that, I can manage.

You dont require banelings to defend those kind of attacks. You can defend lingfloods quite easily on most maps with walls + cancleing your third base, you can also make reactive spines and start extra queens and put your first 2 queens on the ramp. As long as you scout on the other side of the map with 2 lings and react right away you should be completely fine.

Do you think it's not worth making a pair of zerglings right after your pool is done to sent to the enemy's main for scouting? I've been doing it quite consistently and from my experience once every few games I get a significant piece of information from this scout, like super fast lair, fast evo chamber, seeing an enemy going gasless, or enemy pooling zerglings to go for a speedling flood. Is this potential scout not worth sacrificing a drone essentially or are your pro opponents simply denying this scout?

yeah, so if a good player goes for any sort of 2 base lair or 2 base 3 queen opening u will never be able to get into the base, and you really dont need to scout any of the all ins in order to hold them. Lingfloods etc. are not good and u dont need special preperation if you can tell that its a normal hatch timing. In general 2 queens can kill the 2 lings before they can get in no matter what they do and they will see the 2 lings coming with the overlord, so on average you will get nothing out of making those 2 lings other than having a drone less and forcing them to make 2 lings themselfes if they go for a normal third base timing.

3:30 But why immediately put a drone back on? Usually you wait till 3:15 to build and rally 2 Drones to it so they spawn and fill the Gas by 3:30. What's the optimization here? (Like why not just pull 1 Drone off, whats 15 seconds? lol)

You asked about scouting the followup to the mutas right? This will be on 4 bases or at least on 3 so you dont need to go past a potential wall u can just scout with lings and see what units he is producing from his third base.
